I Wanna Wake Up in the City That Doesn't Sleep
Who: People currently at the Dangan House!
Where: The premises of the Dangan House, in Goldenrod City!
When: Tuesday, January 6.
Summary: It's a big-ass open meet-and-greet where the common denominator is Parker. Surely this cannot possibly go wrong!
Rating: PG, please mark individual threads that go higher!
Log:
WE ARE HERE:

KEY:
• 1 → Kitchen.
• 2 → Dining Area. A place to eat delicious food, with doors that go to the backyard.
• 3 → Lounge. Here's where you'll find a fireplace - and, of course, a pool table.
• 4 → Study. Lots of bookshelves, and some comfy chairs to read those books in. Also home to the World's Nicest Couch™.
• 5 → Living Room. Or something like it. TV, couches, plenty of space for high school students to chill.
• 6 → Tennis Court. In the backyard. The center of the former occupants' universe. There's also a pool that the backyard shares with the house next door, plus a barn constructed by the former owners. Along one wall of the house is a garden inhabited by a vicious Carnivine named Audrey II, because the previous owner had a sick sense of humor.
• A through E → The Assorted Dangan Bedrooms.
• NATIVE HAZARD: The Eevee Horde, consisting of at least 28 free-ranging Eevees that travel around en masse. Eevee geneaology chart found here.
~
[OOC: Okay, guys, this is an open mingle log for anyone currently at the Dangan House, so feel free to tag in with open starters and interact with each other at will! The log's basically a free-for-all, with Parker bringing Eliot (
hitsitoff) by the house so he can see where she's been all this time, but it's fair game to tag anyone and everyone as you like! o/]

[Eliot isn't sure what he expected this place to be like. This definitely wasn't it. From the way Parker had been talking, she'd been expecting someplace a lot... smaller. Still, he's trying not to show too much surprise, outwardly anyway. He's pretty sure he's filled out his surprise quota for the next five years anyway.
Mostly he's just looking around, for now. He might be doing a little bit of lurking. It's just what he does, okay? So, uh. Have fun with the strange guy wandering around your house all of a sudden, kids?]
B
[It was only a matter of time before Eliot decided to really check out the kitchen... Okay, look. The last job he was on before he got here had been a mess. Climbing a mountain and falling down a crevice? Not fun. Then right after that they'd found out someone was spying on them. And then Eliot got to this crazy place. Not his idea of a good time.
To say that he's got a lot on his mind would be an understatement.
So before he really knows it, he's checking out the fridge. He figures that, hey, not like they're gonna miss a few ingredients, if someone were to whip something up quick. Not exactly a restaurant quality kitchen, but he's had worse selections. Like that one time in Iraq in the makeshift safe house, dozen people to feed, screams outside, smell of blood in the-
Um. Yeah. Worse.
...He sure is comfortable with a knife, though, damn. Did he just... twirl it? Eliot who are you even showing off to right now, come on man.]
B.
To say that Ishimaru frequents the kitchen is kind of overstating it, but he does tend to come up here when the basement gets too cold and he wants to study, and that would be the cause of the light thud onto the kitchen table - there is a rather severe-looking kid with red eyes and a white uniform and a few too many books to be normal, and he's just going to kind of...stare at the newcomer for a second before greeting him - ]
You must be Eliot-san!
[...about as loudly as he greets everyone else, oh god.
That said, he...sincerely hopes you are, in fact, Eliot-san, otherwise we are going to have a major problem.]
no subject
That'd be me.
[He looks up and pauses what he's doing for a bit, eying the kid in front of him. He hasn't exactly been told much about the kids Parker's befriended, at least nothing too specific, so he hasn't been too sure what to expect.]
You're one of Alice's friends, right?
no subject
[Ah, god, where the hell are his manners - you are getting the deepest bow from the waist in greeting, sir.]
Ah - my name is Ishimaru Kiyotaka; I'm one of the people in charge of making sure everything runs smoothly around here!
[Aaaaaand up he goes.]
It's good to meet you!
no subject
Wait... sister?
[Is this some kind of weird surrogate family deal, what the hell has Parker been up to?
Either way, damn, that's one serious kid.]
Right... Likewise. Guess since you already know about me, I can skip the introduction. Saves some time.
no subject
Yes, that's right!
[PROBABLY...NOT THAT crap um]
The efficiency is appreciated!
[OR THAT]
no subject
Oh good god, suddenly he understands why Parker became friends with this kid.]
...Right.
[He's attempting to resist the urge to facepalm because this is one of Parker's friends and also it's a kid, so let's try getting through at least a conversation without doing that.
You know what let's just change the subject.]
So she's your sister, huh? Guess you're pretty close to her if you're calling her that.
no subject
[...Apparently he just has spare family members lying around here, um.]
You're her...friend, is that right?
no subject
[...Wait. Uh.]
She ever talk about her job?
[Because he doesn't actually know for sure what Parker's told people about what she does for a living.]
no subject
He hesitates for a moment, as though he's not entirely sure he should be saying anything about it, but if Eliot works with her then it should be fine. Right?
To his credit, his voice is decidedly quieter when he responds, so at least there's that.]
...I don't know if she's told anyone else. But I know about what you both do.
[...]
It's also "Parker," not "Alice-san." I know about that, too.
no subject
I'm surprised she managed to keep up an alias long-term. Acting's never been her strong suit. To put it mildly.
[Still miles ahead of Sophie when she's not grifting, but that... really isn't saying a lot.]
So you know about what she does, what we do. And you're okay with that, huh?
no subject
[And it's blunt but it's honest, even if he doesn't seem entirely sure of what he thinks about it. It's not okay, but...]
I've spent my entire life dedicated to justice and order, so of course I'm not all right with that sort of thing. But my classmates and I have been through a situation where justice wasn't...enough.
no subject
[At the very least, he appreciates Ishimaru's honesty. And he probably would've been more surprised at a yes than a no.]
...Yeah, Parker mentioned something about that. No specifics. Just that something bad went down.
no subject
...You might want to be careful with what's said around my classmates, until you're used to them.
A lot of us died. The ones that didn't had to watch.
no subject
Well, that certainly makes Eliot go quiet.
It had been a possibility he'd considered, that death had been involved. But he had hoped it wouldn't have been something that bad. So much for that.
It's the second part that gets him the most. Killing kids is more than terrible enough, but making the others watch? That's a special kind of twisted.]
...Damn. [It's a lighter word than he wants to use, but the feelings behind it are heavy enough to make up for that. He's been tempted to punch someone ever since he got here, but now he wants to more than ever.] That's not something anyone should have to watch.
...I'll make sure to watch out what I say. Wasn't gonna bring it up in the first place, but... I'll be careful.
no subject
[And with that the volume is back, and so is the...enthusiasm, may god help us all.]
If you're going to be cooking anything, for yourself or otherwise, there are a few things we don't want made here on principle - we don't allow pancakes or tempura, specifically!
[...There's also the Butter Thing, but he figures that won't be an issue given that there kind of isn't any.]
no subject
[Hell, not like he'll question a small thing like that right now.]
Your house, your rules. There anything else I need to know about, you just tell me.
no subject
...NOT COMPLAINING, TBH.]
I'll be sure to do that, then! And if there's anything you need, you can let me know as well!
[all right awesome clearly everyone is going to get along in this situation
yaaaaaaaay]
no subject
Pretty sure I'll be fine, but sure.
Just need to get used to this place, is all. [Said more to himself than anything else, but it's not like he's muttering or anything.] The one time it'd be actually helpful to have a geek around and he ain't here. Figures.
B because FOOD!
lifeimportant, and Eliot seeking out a kitchen early on in his stay here seems about as natural as Parker seeking out the Team Rocket bank accounts early on. It's just...what they do.That said, while she's of course content and fascinated by the knifework, that does remind her of another of those Oh Right I Should Probably Not Forget To Mention This Thing things, and since she's at least savvy enough to not pop up behind Eliot while he's busy chopping, she more just wanders in and finds an empty space of countertop to occupy while he works.]
...We're not allowed to have butter in the house. I mean this house. Like ever.
[...SOME PEOPLE START CONVERSATIONS WITH "HELLO"...]
no subject
...What?
[...Yeah, no, that word just about sums it up. What?]
Parker, do you have any idea how many recipes use- there better be a good reason for this, I swear.
no subject
[Even relatively alone, there's never any telling who might be around and in earshot. Like that one creepy classmate of Ishimaru's who stares a lot and is probably psychic. That one definitely can't be trusted under any circumstances.]
It's 'cause people are...allergic. To butter. And pancakes.
[...]
And knives.
no subject
[He's pretty sure there isn't anyone listening, because there's no signs of it. But if Parker insists, then, well. He'll deal. Not that he won't be annoyed about it, of course.]
...Right. [You know what, forget even questioning this.] There any other allergies I need to know about?
no subject
[She pauses a minute, blinking twice as she calls up the memory, and then recites efficiently: ]
Butter, pancakes, baseball, stabby knives, garbage, gift wrap, tempura. I think if there's others Ishimaru puts them on the fridge, but I can ask him too.
no subject
Got it. Would've been good to know beforehand, but I got it. [He'll take being slightly annoyed over screwing something up, though.] ...Right, yeah, that kid. Ran into him earlier. He mentioned some of those too.
no subject
[Given her wince, that's probably a genuine "sorry", too.]
Houses aren't hard to get around here, though. So...you could get one. Or we. We could get one. With a kitchen that had all the stuff that isn't here. If you want. One.
[...]
Ishimaru's pretty great, right?
no subject
...Kind of jumping the gun a little there, aren't you? Easy.
[He'll just... take that subject change, because Parker...]
He's an interesting one. Can see why you like him. [Seriously, one conversation and he immediately understood how they're friends.] Seems he's pretty important to you.
A
With a small purple kitten in hand, he opens the door to his room to head downstairs...and finds some strange guy coming up said stairs.
He just kind of stares the dude down for a second, eyes squinted and everything. The purple kitten meanwhile, seems to be staring into space.]
...Uh, who're you?
[As per usual, it seems he's missed the memo that there'd be a guest in the house today. Nevertheless, here's some kid with gravity-defying dreads, Eliot.]
no subject
...
Even if this one is a little creepy.]
A friend of Alice.
Sorry, don't mean to intrude or anything. Just takin' a look around.
no subject
Oh, okay! And nah, don't worry about it- you're not intruding. Well, unless you came barging into my room, but you obviously didn't do that!
[He offers a slight bow.]
I'm Hagakure, I'm a friend of- [There's a slight pause because he almost says Parker's name again. He's used it enough times around her where it almost slips out sometimes.] Alice's too. And this is Hoshiko!
[He motions to the dead-eyed kitten with a free arm.]
It's nice to meetcha, dude. Did you just get here, or...?
[He's not quite sure how the guy knows Parker.]
no subject
Of course, he's not so much suspicious as curious. Parker hasn't actually told him exactly who knows about her real name, so he can only guess for now.]
Yeah, that's right. Name's Eliot.
Alice and I work together, back home.
