I think staying in one place makes some of the others antsy? Well, and a lot of them are doing gym challenges...I'm not sure if we're all leaving right after or not. It sort of depends on if there's a new year's activity planned and if people are staying for it. I doubt Sollux will be too interested in that, and the sooner we leave, the sooner we'll be in Ecruteak and through the towers, so.

At the risk of giving you even more options, you can come with us! The two towers near Ecruteak are the Bell and Burned towers. There's actually a legend surrounding the two of them...

I will have to give it some thought, really. [Kanaya looks distant for a moment.] I believe Karkat wanted me to accompany him and Vanitas. But it is very nice to see you and Sollux again.

Honestly, I think you'd be welcome in any group! And it's not as though you can't change your mind whenever you like and go meet up with others. And as you can see, I'm pretty certain we'll all meet up from time to time for holidays...Humans seem to have a lot of those!

[ Aradia shifts, leaning forward, her elbows on her knees. ] I think it's different, seeing everyone outside of dream bubbles. Besides, Sollux doesn't, well - remember that, since it hasn't happened yet for him.

[She nods.] I...wasn't certain if he was aware of it or not. I know Eridan is, but I also didn't care, honestly.

I was careful not to mention it to Sollux.

I'm fairly certain he knows about the dream bubbles from other people, and he always knew he'd go blind, but...well. There's no point in worrying him, I suppose?

We really need a chart for all this timeline nonsense, probably.

Yes. I suppose I should be relieved I seem to be ahead of most people on the timeline. I can't expect any particularly terrible surprises.

Well, until people start coming in further ahead of us, at least. We're still missing several trolls! I suppose a few human lusui, too?

I think I'd rather not dwell on that particular possibility. We'll just remain at the head of the timeline, I think that's far more reasonable.

I can't deny being the furthest ahead has it's perks! I think Jake and the second-session humans are about as far ahead as we are, although they...haven't met us yet, so it doesn't quite matter.

Yes. And how can we really be certain, given that it is an entirely separate universe that we are simply intruding upon.

I'm really just assuming based on the fact that we're supposed to meet up with them fairly soon after they enter their game!

Oh, another word of advice: trying to explain our world to other people usually confuses them horribly.

I think humans simply don't want to understand home.

Both, really. Trying to explain the game, or even just Alternia - it doesn't seem to...cross over well. Especially the quadrants, or just everyday things, you know?

Well, quadrants...that I can understand. And if you look at the two societies...[Kanaya frowns.] We're just a lot more...I don't want to same complicated, but maybe...faceted?

[It's still not the right word, but it's the best she can manage.]

Also violent, we can't forget that.

I think the violence confuses some of the humans. Not ours - but the ones here?

Well, from what I saw of their world before it was destroyed, that's not exactly surprising.

I didn't watch their world much, you know that. But the pieces of it in the dream bubbles - I think I'm not that surprised, either. Beforus seems much less...violent, too.

Yes. I thought so too. [She's quiet for a moment.] It almost makes me somewhat jealous, really. We're the only ones that had to grow up in what, compared to the others, amounted to a sort...vicious hell.

I don't know if I'm jealous or not. Things...would have gone badly for us, if we'd never played the game, don't you think? But we didn't grow old there, even if we grew up there.

I don't mean the game part. I mean...they're whole environment was different.

No, I...know what you mean. Our lives at home were not going to end well.

Yeah. I mean, it had already gone badly for you. And I wasn't exactly doing what my blood type said I should either...
