Log:
[ Two weeks. It had nearly been two weeks since the love of Arturia Pendragon took his leave of this realm. She had convinced herself last week that a week was long enough to spend in grief, so this week it was a matter of convincing herself that surely she was over it. It took her approximately three hours to talk herself into removing the ring just out of fear of damaging it, metal gauntlets being raised to deflect a blow from her Dragonite's tail.
Two weeks. Three hours.
Time passed by too slowly without that wizard. Maybe part of his unspoken sorcery was time manipulation. The memories of him felt too brief, yet they had been long enough to feel natural. It was home here only because he was at her side.
Speaking of at one's side, Saber's quick to fall down on her own to dodge another blow from Kilgharrah. If she didn't know better, she might think the Pokemon felt vicious enough to defend the honor of his fallen brothers. How many dragons fell to the blade of King Arthur? It wasn't what she was notorious for (there are far too many things she's discovered that she's well known for in legend), it was enough to make a dent.
More specifically, a dent in the metal on her hand. Feeling the sharp edges pierce into the back of her left hand, she leaps back away from the larger Pokemon. ]
Hoh.. [ This felt all too familiar as she held up her hand with a slight smirk. ] I almost miss that man... Well, that is enough for now.
[ Masking the pain, her gaze looks around to match with Xion's, a confident smirk along her face. This cut reminded her of something she can't believe she almost neglected and now it was time to recruit. For those honorable who have fallen in battle before. For her beloved Merlin who felt so passionately for this group. Yes, there were things that needed to be done and it was about time she started doing so.
Time was only going to tick by slowly if she didn't keep herself occupied after all. ]

She blinks when Saber - Arturia, she knows now, but she prefers the former. Personal names are, well, personal - looks back at her and unconsciously goes to stand from her sitting position. Bahamut the Garchomp takes a step back sort of nuzzling her hair while the two fought. It did look like Saber wanted to talk about something. ]
Something wrong, Saber?

I don't like them. They hurt others and tried to separate their Pokemon from their trainers with force.
no subject
Would you take arms up against them?
no subject
[ A prompt answer. ] Are you gathering a group together?
no subject
No, not quite. [ There's already a group after all. ] It is in the hands of others. Would it not be too obvious if I were? I might be one of the first to be targeted as a founder.
[ Which naturally she welcomes the challenge. ]

Merlin... I remember he knew a lot of people here. All the more reason to see it through for him, right?
no subject
[ For that's what one does in love, she surmises. Deep down she knows that he never wanted to leave her behind, that he would never want to leave anyone behind. These tasks would be completed by her own hands if she must. ]
I shall keep you from getting into unnecessary trouble as well. [ Don't worry, she respects her enough... but she also knows what it's like to be young and battle hungry. ] So your allies need not worry.

[ Is her small argument to that. Saber did, sometimes, give off an air of... loneliness, is what Xion could only best describe it as. And a small note to herself, Xion felt something similar to Saber, though she couldn't pinpoint what. ]
I'll try my best. [ But she gestures to her eye. ] Even if I can't control it.
no subject
[ With a nod. ]
We will work around it.
no subject
You aren't! Not in this world! Please don't forget that.
[ Sounds very earnest. ]
no subject
R-Right. I should not forget those who have agreed to help me.
no subject
We're friends, Saber. Friends help each other out, no matter what. [ Then her smile turns a bit sheepish, but then it turns into a grin as Xion taps the side of her own head. ]
Got it memorized?
no subject
You are the first to actually call me a friend here in this place. Well, no, Merlin did as well... it was different between the two of us though. I was his king, but I was not.
no subject
Really? Is it wro- I mean... is it okay if I considered you my friend? Am I your friend?
no subject
[ A sigh. ]
The cruelest thing was having so many good men loyal to a woman who did not deserve it.
no subject
[ About one's own truth and holding it away from others. Still. ]
It'll be different here. My friends keep telling me that, and I think... I'm really starting to believe that. It's the same for you, too, Saber. So I'll try to make you see that you deserve the loyalty friends have with each other.
no subject
[ Different here. That sounds familiar too. ]
Merlin often told me that I had to learn to be selfish and that it was alright to do so. That every so often I could live for myself instead of those I choose to serve. My country and it's good people were all I loved, but I had to keep them at a distance. Such a predicament made my life prior to Johto a lonely one. Even now I still have trouble admitting the things I want or acting on what I want to do instead of what is right.
You are kind to think of me in such a way, but please do not take offense when I head off into danger right away. That is just the person I was raised to be.
no subject
So we're both trying. Right? What Merlin said sounds like something my friend, Fang, told me: that I should simply have fun and do things for myself. I just... find it difficult to stop wanting to help people anyway, you know?
I won't. Only if you don't mind the same with me, Saber. Please.
no subject
I do not mind it at all, Xion. It is refreshing actually to think this way. Although I shall stop you due to my own nature.
no subject
You could be right on that, yeah. [ Because Xion still has some reservations about her own... things from her world. ]
Your... nature?
no subject
Yes, I am afraid I am so used to being knightly that I cannot help myself. When I see someone I care heading off into danger, I have to follow after them. It is just the way of things.
no subject
Then it's not just you being a "knight," Saber. You care about people like friends do. So...
[ So... yeah, you could try to stop Xion, but she'd still want to help out. Stubborn! ]
no subject
R-Right! It is just in my nature to care about those I have chosen to protect. That is all.
no subject
And there's nothing wrong with that. I'm the same way, too. I'll do anything to keep my friends safe and happy.
no subject
Then we are more alike than I originally thought.
no subject
Hehehe. Yeah! [ Her laugh drifts off a bit as she thinks about that, though. She hopes, for Arturia's sake, it's just in personality. ] At least, like this. Our personalities, right?
