Where do we go from here?
Who: Twilight Sparkle (
friendyousohard), Applejack (
buckyouup), Fluttershy (
3_butterflies) and Rainbow Dash (
bestofthebest)
Where: Goldenrod City Pokemon Center
When: Late on Saturday.
Summary: AJ's taken down Whitney, and now she and Twilight are getting restless. Where should they head now?
Rating: G
Log:
Twilight was getting restless.
She didn't dislike Goldenrod City at all, but she'd spent so much of her time in it and Violet that she was running out of things to do aside from wander the streets or spend her time shopping. Not to mention, the wild Pokemon around the city, while decent challenges for her newbies, were so far below her core team that they barely offered any experience for them at all.
There were no two ways about it. She wanted to get out. She wanted to head somewhere else, somewhere she hadn't seen before.
And she knew just the place she wanted to go. Sitting at the table in the lobby of the Pokecenter, she stared at the map of Johto on her gear.
She hoped the other girls would be okay with her idea. That, or maybe one of them would have a plan of their own.

Fluttershy is on the scene!
I'm all ready... for whatever we're doing.
All together again!
Olivine, huh? That's that city on the beach? That'd sure be a change a' scenery.
Go team!
[Looking up at the other two as they joined the group, Twi adopted her discussion face.]
I'll be frank here. I don't want to stay in Goldenrod much longer. The only things there are for me to do here are visit the department store and train my weaker Pokemon, and there's still almost half of Johto I haven't even seen. Not to mention, my stronger ones are getting really antsy, especially Megasoma, from not having any sort of challenge for so long.
[Already aware of where the first objection to her plan is going to come from, she turns to Dash.] Now I realize that you still have to take on Whitney, Rainbow. But honestly, you aren't going to be ready to do that for a few more weeks at least, so unless there are some Pokemon you want to catch around Goldenrod, it won't matter if you spend those weeks staying here or traveling. It's not like I can't fly you back here whenever you're ready.
So, my plan is pretty simple. I want to go down to Olivine and Cianwood and take on the Gym Leaders there. This would accomplish three things. [She holds up a hand, extending a finger with each point she makes.] One, I'd get two new badges. Two, we'd be able to fly to Olivine or Cianwood any time we wanted after we got there. And three, there's a chance we'll run into some new Pokemon we might want while we're out there, not to mention we'll be fighting stronger ones so training will go faster.
I figure by the time I'm done taking on Jasmine and Chuck, Rainbow will be ready for Whitney. AJ, you'll probably be able to get Morty's Fog Badge on the way, and you might even be able to take on Jasmine and Chuck too. All told I think this'll take us a few weeks to a month.
[Finished outlining her plan and trying to convince the others to agree to it, she leans back in her chair.] So, what do you all think? It's what I'd like to do, but like you've all reminded me, I'm not doing this alone. So I'm open to suggestions.

You do realize everypony but me has a super-powerful team with high levels, so mine would be no match for any new Pokemon I might want? Even Fluttershy has stronger Pokemon than me, and she hates fighting! And what if you get called away again on another super-secret mission? That'll just push back your plans for the other Gym Leaders.
no subject
Mine... mine aren't so high leveled... And we can always help you capture any Pokemon you want... And we'll train with you... If you wanted to, I mean...
no subject
It ain't like we'll never be comin' back here, Rainbow. The wagon's almost done anyway. Don't you wanna see how well it works on the open road?

She was worried, and didn't want to show her friends.)
Blaze is the only one who's even close to that level! Daring, Tank and Lightning barely hit 16 or higher, and the rest that aren't eggs...!
What am I gonna do? I've trained for days since we got here but...I'm never gonna get a Badge at this rate!
no subject
You... you will definitely get a badge! You just have to be patient! If we all work together... if all we train every day... then we'll build a really great team, between the four of us. Whatever happens... we're in this together! We're not leaving anypony behind, and... and we'll definitely all get badges, and get high levels, and be super strong!
[This is followed by a deep exhale. phew.]
no subject
What she said, Sugarcube. We're a team, an' we'll all get strong together. You can always come out an' train with me in the mornin's.
[She winks.]
If you think you can keep up, that is.
no subject
With some serious effort put into training, you can probably get five more levels for each of your Pokemon in a week, which would put Blaze equal to the highest level Pokemon around Olivine, and Daring, Tank and Lightning equal to the mid-level ones. That's not really too bad, since you'll be fighting them with six pokemon and they only attack you one by one.
Granted, that still leaves the trainers, but me and AJ will probably be monopolizing them anyway. Given that it'll take us about a week and a half to get to Ecruteak, and another week to reach Olivine, I think you'll actually be okay. Though I could be convinced to wait another week before starting out to give you a bit of a boost.
Huh. Waiting on Rainbow Dash. There's a strange thought.
no subject
Really? Equal to mid-level Pokemon? Does that mean what I think it means? All 3 of them evolving? So. Awesome~!
Wait a second - Lightning can't get there yet; you said something about happiness being needed. And, it's not strange at all to wait on me! If you really wanna get going, I guess we could train on the road.
(Is Rainbow actually using her head?! When you end up waiting on her, it's usually because she's sleeping.)
no subject
So we really can all go... That's good. I know I'm not very good at battling and training... but I'll do my best... and I'll do anything you say! You can count on me.
no subject
Then it's settled. We make our way to Olivine City, an' start training harder. When Team Rocket decides they're gonna strike again, we'll be ready for 'em. Fluttershy... [She turns to face her, resting a hand on her shoulder.] You know I'll go easy on you, but I reckon you should start training, too. I want you t'be able to defend yourself, should somethin' happen.
[Should something happen to her. Or Twilight. Being in the Guardian Corps is a dangerous, and even though she isn't a part of it yet, Applejack is already willing to throw herself into danger at a moment's notice. She can't let anything bad happen to Fluttershy. She won't]
But... what would you gals think of gettin' on the train an' heading to Saffron an' Celadon for a couple weeks, first? I think if we had two trainers in the group who could use Fly, it'd make things a lot easier on travel, an' with the Violet City gym closed down, the only way t'learn it is in Kanto.
[It also has nothing to do with the fact that she's totally interested in the magnet train. Not at all.]
no subject
[She doesn't bother putting in her two cents about Fluttershy. Sure, she had once told Twilight that she wanted to train harder, herself, but as far as Twilight knew she hasn't put all that much emphasis on it since their first outing... probably because she's still afraid of getting them hurt. So AJ's right, but Twi doesn't know if it matters.]
The only problem is, do we have the money for Magnet Train tickets for the four of us? They aren't exactly cheap.
no subject
Duck?
(She groaned irritably while considering their choices; Ecruteak to Olivine, or to Saffron and Celadon via the Magnet Train? Sure it seemed like a really awesome ride, but if it really cost a lot for one ticket...?)
We could always get jobs for a couple weeks while saving to pay for tickets! I'd get in a lot of training on days off, and even weekends and nights.
(A beat.)
Think they'll accept 'Weather Pony' as a previous occupation?
no subject
Well... normally whenever we stay somewhere, I work at the Pokemon Center, that pays pretty well... And I can try having Ditto breed with more Pokemon to sell more eggs... Would that help?
[She fidgets a little, worried all over again. Murkrow, not liking the ponies getting in on her shoulder space, hops onto Fluttershy's head and proceeds to make a nest out of her hair. Not that she minds, of course.]
no subject
I get most a' my money from trainer battles, but I reckon I could get a job, too.
no subject
Well, let's see... how much money do we have right now? I've got around fifteen thousand left from fighting trainers and what I've saved from my gym battles, plus a few weeks of work at the library in Violet. That leaves five thousand for my ticket.
no subject
...I get my money from Trainer battles, so I'd say out of what I've saved should be around 3 or 4,000. Maybe more but I don't really keep track.
(And there's her momentary pain receptors catching up to her.)
Ow...!
no subject
Rainbow Dash!
[She tries to hug and hold Rainbow, clearly worried, moving RD's bangs to try and see the bruise.]
Please be careful!
no subject
I've got about six thousand in my wallet now. Pair that up with th' twelve I just got from beatin' Whitney, an' I'm just about ready.
no subject
[Twilight does a quick bit of addition in her head.]
Alright, that puts AJ and I pretty close, if we go and do a bit of work combined with trainer duels, we should be ready by Friday. Shy, the Pokemon centers pay pretty well, don't they? How are you doing for money?
no subject
(Rainbow feels a little embarrassed, but she smiles reassuringly at Fluttershy.)
I'm alright, Flutters. It doesn't hurt that much!
(And yet, she does have a slight bruise beneath her bangs. Not noticeable unless they're parted much like Fluttershy's done now.)
no subject
The Center does pay good... U think I'm all set with money, even though I did miss out on some while I was sick... I think I'm okay... Friday sounds fine...
