Small, vague-ish VLR spoiler regarding power stuff!

[Phi's hand is still curled around the pokeball, not yet used to this whole trainer thing, when she spots others' creatures shrink away from this thing in front of them. The Oddish was always shy to battle, but it seemed like even if she did send the tiny weed out she wasn't going to have much success.

...But how did one fight something like this? Puzzles and colored doors, or people with knives, maybe, but this? Phi couldn't even make out what this was! She can feel her hesitation rising into frustration and panic instead as she backs away from Totally Not Chernobog (Totally Not Zero...?), eyes flicking to those around her as they --

As they become superheroes, apparently. She's finally cracked.]

It had to happen eventually...

[It's muttered reasoning, and she wonders why she wasted her time on it when a rhino-like rabbit barrels towards her, leaving her barely enough time to hop out of the way and stumble down some steps to a more stable platform. Phi's knuckles pale even more as she tightens her grip on the Oddish's ball, eyes flying to take in as much about the scene as she can, piling on the stress and this time it's a wolf rabbit looming closer with that rhino steering back and she needs to do something, she needs to get out of the way, she needs to get out of here.

She's dropping to the floor, and luck is on her side enough that she both misses getting slammed by the beasts and splitting her head open in the process. Be careful not to trip over the stray ball or the disoriented woman as she struggles to get back on her feet! And don't mind her maybe grabbing at your shoulder, looking vaguely alarmed as she pushes you to a different location, or barking a No! Not yet! just as you're about to do That Cool Thing You Do...

After all, it's not like this stranger could have known.]

[Unfortunately Latvia's cool thing isn't that cool and mainly involves him swinging wildly with a rusted mace he barely has control over. He's not sure where everyone suddenly got these powers from, or why he doesn't seem to have them himself, but if he can't fight the big bad the very least he can do is keep everyone else safe as best he can.

On seeing Phi struck by one of those creatures he dashes towards it and swings the weapon back ready to strike, only to lose concentration as she shouts. Latvia's grip loosens and the mace goes flying out of his hands to hit another creature about half way across the room]

N-Not yet what!?

[Rubbing at a temple, Phi's briefly distracted by that...incredibly lucky shot. But no, she couldn't be thinking about that, she had to concentrate. She needed to remember. Why had she said what she did, again...?]

We... We need to make every shot count. The more power we waste, the sooner that thing -- [Her head turns, eyes becoming colder a moment as they land on Not Chernobog.] -- wins this fight.

[Whether it was lucky or unlucky was up for debate. He'd pretty much lost the only means he had of defending himself and Latvia scrambles away from the creature]

W-We can't just ignore those... those...

It'll be no good if everyone gets overwhelmed!

[Or they...had been, at least. That was the feeling she got. Hopefully that didn't change this time around.]

They're more a symptom than the actual problem. If we take out the source before he has a chance to knock us down? There should be less clean-up, in the end.

[He doesn't want to think about it too much but from the looks of things she had a better grasp on the situation than he did]

[So Parker likes rabbits, but not when they're charging people with the intent of causing them egregious harm; that would fall under the Disparaging The Sacred Name Of Rabbit condition in her personal perception, and given that such a thing is unforgivable, there must be retribution.

Retribution, in this case, comes in the form of a very nice hardwood chair to the face (muzzle?).

[YEAH, SHE'S LOST IT, WHERE THE HELL DID THAT CHAIR COME FROM and why does this woman look familiar, Phi doesn't know anyone here and certainly not someone who can wield a chair like that.

The more she thinks on it, the more it's slipping away. Phi shakily gets to her feet, a hand coming up as if to keep her brain from splitting her skull.]

Thanks, I guess. [Once she's sure she won't be toppling over again anytime soon, Phi focuses on this avenging angel of hers.

...Maybe a little too much. But it was important! Her eyes bore into Parker for several seconds before something seems to click!] We need to move. We shouldn't be over here.

[What just happened here. She's got the part about the chair and the killer rabbit and the busting it in the face, but this is slightly more suspicious, this thing with the creepy staring and the zoning out and then the suddenly predicting...thing.]

Where are we supposed to go? What?

We just...need to, okay? Trust me.

[On the bright side, Phi's no longer doing that creepy staring thing, instead looking around with a deepening scowl. A lot of places screamed DANGER DO NOT ENTER, but finally she found a spot that seemed...less so, somehow.]

There. He's about to focus on this side, so if we're there, you should be able to, I don't know, throw a sofa at him or something.

[That sure is a weird mix of confidence and absolute loss of comprehension she's got going on.]

[...All right, then, she's going to follow along (FOR THE MOMENT), but the fact that Creepy McWhiteHair just said "trust me" is about as good a reason as any to, y'know...not trust her.

As if on cue, up pops a folding chair.]

[Phi halts for a split second at that, then continues without looking back.]

[She knows what this woman means. She also knows that the situation is a giant headache.]

There are these people called espers. Some of them transmit thoughts, some can know the intentions of everyone around them -- it's all different. What I do is jump. To another me, another time, another reality. Whatever you want to call it. What makes up me goes into that body and sends the other consciousness back to where I was.

Can't exactly control it, don't know why it's me, and it's not a perfect transfer. Is that enough for you?
