☆ YOU ARE HERE ☆




KEY:

• BLUE areas are where the bulk of the party's events will be located! As you can see, the festivities will be taking place largely outdoors, and the grounds will reflect that; there'll be the usual decorations of pretty floral arrangements, little lights, things like that. Think upscale garden party! There'll also be a ballroom indoors for more traditionally fancy red-carpet goings-on, but most of the action (and volume of guests) will be found mingling out back.
• GREEN areas are where guests will be staying overnight! Unfortunately, you'll be sleeping-bagging it up, since there's a limited amount of bedrooms in this house and they're all being occupied by Clair, Lance, the Elite Four, and guests who are regrettably way more important than you. However, this is where you'll be given space to leave your possessions, claim some sleeping room, and generally crash for the night once the festivities do you in. (Note: you're welcome to try to sleep elsewhere, but Clair might catch you and disapprove. You don't want that, do you?)
• RED areas are unfortunately off-limits to guests! If asked about them, anyone will tell you that those are the rooms and areas that the Elite Four (and their special guests) have claimed for themselves, and they're sealed off tight. Please don't try to break into them anyway; you'll only be caught and punished.

• AREA A is the designated Indoor Ballroom area, for the people who prefer the classy elegance of a formal red-carpet gala over the more whimsy outdoor garden party atmosphere in the back. There's a big skylight, hardwood floors, tasteful artwork, and classy music — a little more upscale than the shenanigans going on outside, for the people who'd rather that kind of thing.

• AREA B will be the area of interest for anyone hoping to sneak a little Pokemon research on the side: this is the Library/Gallery area of the house. While most of it is your standard "tall shelves of ancient identical books" fare, there are a few points of interest — we've detailed them further right here. Guests are welcome to look around a little, but burying themselves in research the whole time will be highly frowned upon, and you'll be politely encouraged to leave the library alone and go rejoin the festivities if you hole up in there for too long.

• AREA C is...well, the Parking Lot. More importantly, it's where you take your Pokemon battles if you simply gotta get your battle on; keep it out and away from the house, please, and try not to make too much of a mess. Skirmishes, sorties, and sparring will be tolerated here and here alone. Do it anywhere else and you'll be facing some very displeased hosts.

• AREA D is the Elite Four's Trophy Room. Please be quiet and respectful if you come up here to have a look around; it's a solemn kind of place. Here you'll find various collections of badges, ribbons, awards, and trophies put on display, with one wall devoted to each member of the Elite Four. There are also pictures of the Elite Four members themselves, though it seems there's been a changeover since the last prom; the candids and Official Portraits™ depict different people entirely now (with the exception of Bruno) and there are a few photos of some sort of ceremony among the others. These photos include Lance being declared Champion of both regions by Professor Oak, while the rest of the Elite Four look on; Lorelai hugging Will and Karen immediately after their promotion to Elite Four; Agatha and Koga having an exhibition battle between her Gengar and his Crobat; all six of them piling into the frame for what amounts to a massive group selfie, etc.

[OPTION A: Outdoor Garden Party]

[Envy will be spending most of his time at the party out here; it's more fun than the Nothing But Fancy atmosphere of inside. He's looking much more put together than normal in his suit and with his hair brushed out straight and tied back. His Zoroark follows after him most of the time, illusioned as a lovely dark-haired woman with a playful sort of look about her. She and Envy are certainly not above playing a trick or two on people to liven things up out here.]

[As for other Pokemon, there's a Tyranitar in a top hat chilling in one corner of the garden like a small hill, looking thrilled with all the people and the decorations. A Skorupi skitters around under the refreshment tables and may well try to crawl up an unsuspecting passersby's pant leg. And a Clefairy will try to befriend anyone who looks at him sideways, whether they want a pink marshmallow for a friend or not.]

[OPTION B: Indoor Ballroom]

[Sometimes, Envy does wander into the more upscale side of the party. He's been to enough of these kinds of things over the years to look completely at ease, if a little bored. But he will be willing to dance with most anyone who asks him.]

[This will also be the preferred hangout of his Murkrow, all done up with cheap bangles and glitter in her feathers. Keep an eye on your shiny things, people.]

[OPTION C: Library]

[Envy isn't interested in going near the library, but there's a shy little Yamask in a red bowtie floating amongst the shelves. Edmund has a convenient small pencil and pad of paper attached to a cord around his neck for communicating with humans, but mostly he's there for the books. He didn't get to look at nearly enough of them last year. He'll probably be found either flipping through a book at one of the tables…or on his way back to his reading spot, trying to carry a stack of books that's really much too big for him.]

[Oh fuck. Oh fuck that is a bird.]

[Normally, Lightning the Luxray looks as disinterested as a lot of cats just tend to do. There are some Pokemon who don't act like their real world counterparts at all, and some who do. Lightning falls very very heavily into the latter category. So when she spots that Murkrow glittering in the rafters...]

[Something in her gaze seems to shift, and the Luxray goes into "I am a fearsome prdatory big cat" mode. She starts to sneak her way through the crowd, keeping an eye on the large sparkly bird, and then, through perhaps pure determination, finds herself up in the rafters as well. It takes a bit of climbing, but dammit, she manages.]

[Watch out, Lyra. You are being stalked. Lightning is wiggling her butt and everything.]

[It sure is a bird. Lyra is keeping an eye on the party below, looking for anything shiny that she might be able to make off with.]

[She doesn't notice that she's being stalked until Lightning is up in the rafters. OH SHIT A LION--]

[She puffs up her feathers, cawing threateningly.]

[YOU WOULDN'T DARE.]

[So in retribution now that she's been noticed, Lightning puffs up her own fur, electricity cackling about her as she snarls. You're hers, bird.]

[Lyra caws again, because she doesn't think so, you're not going to get her that easily! She takes off, landing again on a higher and harder to get to rafter, before calling out again, mockingly.]

[Lightning just bristles in aggravation at being evaded, but tries to make her way across the rafter she's currently on. Okay... okay... She gots this, she can find a way up there. She will do it, dammit.]

[Kirikou has no interest in libraries, himself. In fact, he's wandered in mostly because he might have got a little lost. But when he sees the tiny little Pokemon buried underneath all the books he's carrying...]

[He comes over with long strides and reaches over to help relieve the Yamask of a good chunk of its book tower.]

Hey, watch it, man. You were gonna collapse under those things.

[Kirikou's help is much appreciated! Even if Edmund is embarrassed to have needed it in the first place.]

Mask!

[Now that he's no longer in danger of dropping everything or sinking into the floor, he can get these books over to his little table in the corner. Once they're put down, he scribbles a message on his notepad, holding it out shyly for Kirikou to read.]

[He follows after to set the books down, happy to leave it at that before he notices the little Mon is actually writing for him. He leans over to read it, and grins.]

No problem. I didn't know you could write, that's pretty clever! Can all Pokemon do that or are you just super smart?

[Edmund flusters very noticeably at the compliment; if he could blush, he would. He writes again:]

I was a librarian in my past life, so I remember how to read and write. Not all Pokemon can, but with practice many would be able to. I'm nothing too special.

<sub>[Henry is moping around outside because apparently a black bow tie on top of his usual slouchy get-up isn't FANCY enough to get into the main party.]

[It doesn't take him long to find Envy and his 'lady friend' though and he gives them a wave as he makes his way over, camera in hand.]</sub>

Hey, man. Are you bored as I am?

[The 'lady friend' sees Henry coming first, and tugs on Envy's sleeve to get his attention. When he spots Henry, he grins and waves back.]

I don't know about bored, I've had to go to much worse parties than this one.

Still, it could do with some livening up, don't you think?

[Lilith perks up a little at that. Fun? Is fun going to happen? Pranks?]

_{[Henry's almost sleepy expression broadens into a grin.]}

Yeah, I think so. Absolutely. Who's your friend?

Oh, this is Lilith. She's one of my Pokemon, she can just look like whatever she wants.

[He makes the universal back and forth 'introducing' gesture.]

Lilith, Henry. Henry, Lilith.

[Lilith grins at him in a way that's eerily similar to how Envy does, and gives him a little wave. She might look like a person right now, but she can't speak like one.]

_{[His brows drift up in surprise as he stares at the not-a-lady. That was a pretty good shape shift.]}

Hey, Lilith...so. What's the plan? Flower's around here somewhere, so I need to keep an eye on her, but I'm up for an actual party.

[Denzel had been kicked, quite literally out of the library so he decided to stalk the grounds. His Growlithe and Poochyena following close behind Crocker. That's when Crocker spots the pink marshmallow off in the distance.]

FAIRY!

[Regardless of what the Rocket boss's said Crocker is not going to be able to help himself but how to go about this? The man whistles for his dog Pokemon and tells them to circle the Clefairy like sheep dogs. Even if they don't think they should they will obey.]

[When the Growlithe and the Poochyena start circling him, Charon...isn't very intimidated. He's not very shy or timid for a Clefairy.]

[Are they playing a game? Is that what's going on? New friends? He starts dancing instead of being herded, bouncing around. Woo, party!]

[crackpotcrocker]

[Both the dog-like Pokemon start chasing after the bouncing Clefairy and barking quite after it and seem to be barking stay still and come back here! As both the Pokemon run to keep up.

Meanwhile, Crocker is watching this and trying to figure out something else if things don't go as planned... That is when he spies the pool net and begins to gather that up in his clutches. ]

[Charon doesn't notice that Crocker is getting a net, he's too busy playing what is clearly a game of tag with his new dog friends.]

[For such a round thing, you wouldn't think he'd be so fast.]

[crackpotcrocker]

[The two dog Pokemon both stare at each other and notice that the Pokemon their trainer wants to Poke-nap thinks all of this is just a game! The Pokemon get that, however Crocker still doesn't.]

Why aren't you attacking that? Stop playing around!

[Both of the dog Pokemon line face for a moment at their trainer. Meanwhile, Crocker tries to lung at the Clefairy.]

[There are two things that make life living, according to Ryner Lute: sleeping, and books. The first more than the second, naturally, but no one will let him sleep fifty hours a day, and besides, books are awesome in their own right.

Therefore, Ryner has picked up one of the more heavily bookmarked journals, flipped open to some articles that he's certainly never seen before and seems incredibly interested in. He even has his own little notebook handy for taking whatever notes he can so he can review them later, and seems to be tapping his pen a little.

...Of course, eventually the Joltik (in a top hat) on his shoulder will look up and see that they're not the only ones at this table, at least...

"Tik?" the Joltik chirps in greeting.]

[Edmund noticed the person sitting down at his table, and had decided to just keep quiet and out of the way. He's just fine with not being noticed.]

[Absorbed in his own reading, he startles when the Joltik greets him, nearly dropping his book. He waves shyly.]

Oh, hello. I do hope I'm not being a bother, I could move...

[Glen waves one of his front legs cutely. ...Well, cute for a spider.]

You're fine, don't worry! I'm just wondering what you're reading about.

[...and admittedly he kind of wants to talk to a Yamask that won't run away on seeing him because they seem interesting, but details.]

[Well the question about reading is certainly enough to convince this Yamask to stick around.]

Oh, I've found a book on the mythology of the Whirl Islands! It's a very rare edition and I haven't seen it in any of the main library branches.
