☆ YOU ARE HERE ☆




KEY:

• BLUE areas are where the bulk of the party's events will be located! As you can see, the festivities will be taking place largely outdoors, and the grounds will reflect that; there'll be the usual decorations of pretty floral arrangements, little lights, things like that. Think upscale garden party! There'll also be a ballroom indoors for more traditionally fancy red-carpet goings-on, but most of the action (and volume of guests) will be found mingling out back.
• GREEN areas are where guests will be staying overnight! Unfortunately, you'll be sleeping-bagging it up, since there's a limited amount of bedrooms in this house and they're all being occupied by Clair, Lance, the Elite Four, and guests who are regrettably way more important than you. However, this is where you'll be given space to leave your possessions, claim some sleeping room, and generally crash for the night once the festivities do you in. (Note: you're welcome to try to sleep elsewhere, but Clair might catch you and disapprove. You don't want that, do you?)
• RED areas are unfortunately off-limits to guests! If asked about them, anyone will tell you that those are the rooms and areas that the Elite Four (and their special guests) have claimed for themselves, and they're sealed off tight. Please don't try to break into them anyway; you'll only be caught and punished.

• AREA A is the designated Indoor Ballroom area, for the people who prefer the classy elegance of a formal red-carpet gala over the more whimsy outdoor garden party atmosphere in the back. There's a big skylight, hardwood floors, tasteful artwork, and classy music — a little more upscale than the shenanigans going on outside, for the people who'd rather that kind of thing.

• AREA B will be the area of interest for anyone hoping to sneak a little Pokemon research on the side: this is the Library/Gallery area of the house. While most of it is your standard "tall shelves of ancient identical books" fare, there are a few points of interest — we've detailed them further right here. Guests are welcome to look around a little, but burying themselves in research the whole time will be highly frowned upon, and you'll be politely encouraged to leave the library alone and go rejoin the festivities if you hole up in there for too long.

• AREA C is...well, the Parking Lot. More importantly, it's where you take your Pokemon battles if you simply gotta get your battle on; keep it out and away from the house, please, and try not to make too much of a mess. Skirmishes, sorties, and sparring will be tolerated here and here alone. Do it anywhere else and you'll be facing some very displeased hosts.

• AREA D is the Elite Four's Trophy Room. Please be quiet and respectful if you come up here to have a look around; it's a solemn kind of place. Here you'll find various collections of badges, ribbons, awards, and trophies put on display, with one wall devoted to each member of the Elite Four. There are also pictures of the Elite Four members themselves, though it seems there's been a changeover since the last prom; the candids and Official Portraits™ depict different people entirely now (with the exception of Bruno) and there are a few photos of some sort of ceremony among the others. These photos include Lance being declared Champion of both regions by Professor Oak, while the rest of the Elite Four look on; Lorelai hugging Will and Karen immediately after their promotion to Elite Four; Agatha and Koga having an exhibition battle between her Gengar and his Crobat; all six of them piling into the frame for what amounts to a massive group selfie, etc.

[It's pretty obvious that Kuzuryuu is still not crazy about the idea of coming to this thing...despite having two weeks to get used to the idea. He's keeping to himself and making a point to avoid the party as best he can, and accompanied as ever by his stern-faced Bisharp. At his other side is a Houndoom, a Cubone riding around on her back.]

[He did at least dress up though, despite how little he wants to be here. He's dressed in a sharp three-piece suit, all black save for a bright red tie and this silver Kuzuryuu family pin on his lapel as always. He's even switched his usual eyepatch out for a plain black one. It's a shame he couldn't do anything about that scowl though... His face is going to get stuck that way one day.]

A: The Falls
[Best way to avoid a party is to completely avoid the building it's being held in, right? Too bad the falls are kind of the whole reason people are here in the first place. Or well...the Bloobers swarming at the falls, that is. So he's not quite as alone as he would have liked and oh god, it's all these gross things again.]

[In spite of this, he still stays out here for a decent chunk of time. Because even with the disgusting slime blobs, this still beats a big, crowded party with a bunch of people he doesn't know.]

B: The Library
[It's probably a good thing that the Bloobers were here though, because eventually they're enough to drive Kuzuryuu to the vacation house...where he promptly holes himself up in the library. He can be found in a corner, feet propped up on a table and leaning back in his chair as he pours over the books written by the members of the Elite Four, mostly the ones about dark and dragon types.]

[When he's not in his corner, he's looking through the shelves for more things to read. He's enlisted his Bisharp's help in carrying books, as well as his Honchkrow for reaching the books on the higher shelves. Though...the latter apparently can't resist messing with his master sometimes, by either purposefully picking the wrong book or playing a game of keep-away...]

No, not that one, Hiro. The dark green one! No...goddammit you little shit, quit fucking with me!

C: Outdoor Garden Party
[Unfortunately, spending too much time in the library is Highly Frowned Upon so guess who eventually gets dragged out to the party proper? Guess who's not happy about it? If you guessed Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu, you'd be right. He can be found holding up the wall, since his Houndoom seems to be on the side of their hosts and blocks every attempt Kuzuryuu makes to leave. Sorry master, but you need to spend some time with your friends. And maybe make some new friends! Attempt to be social, won't you? Just for an hour or two, come on.]

[Attempt to leave? Why would you want to do something like that, Kuzuryuu? This is a lovely party, full of lots of fun things to do and people to meet! Surely you want to hang around and do that, right?

Though if he's not approaching other people, at least someone is approaching him. Rose is being quite the social butterfly, and if someone doesn't look like they're having much fun, she figures she can do her best to try and help them remedy that.

[He glances down at the cup when she offers it, the corner of his mouth twitching in a restrained sneer as he folds his arms over his chest. Sorry, Rose, but he heard talk of punch spiking and he wants no part of that. So he's gonna pass.]

Tch, yeah, having a blast, Lalonde.

[So...Rose may not have seen Kuzuryuu yet but he DID see her broadcast when he bought that egg from her. Granted, she was scowling then and smiling now...and she's more dressed up now but he can still recognize her easily enough.]

[Being called "Lalonde" catches her off guard for a moment. It's strange and almost...uncomfortable? Too impersonal, almost giving her the feeling she's not really welcome. Which, hey, might just be the case.

But then after the initial "what?" of being called that, she recognizes his voice and understands why he called her that. Or at least, she hopes it's simply because he's foreign and not really because he's a grumpy gills who doesn't want her around.]

Kuzuryuu?

[Don't mind her. She never got to see you, after all.]

[Well...he IS a grumpy gills, make no mistake. But the last name thing is definitely because he's Japanese and he doesn't really know you very well.]

Right we've only ever... [They've only ever had audio conversations haven't they. Welp.] Whatever, yeah it's me.

And she's just going to give him a once over and...

...he's a lot shorter than she thought he'd be. He sounded like he'd be around her age, so she figured probably around her height. Or at least John's.]

You're a little younger than I imagined. [Clearly that's what this means.]

[With as much time as Chihiro has been spending in here, it's a wonder he hasn't been kicked out of the library yet. Still, he's finished with the stack of books he had previously and has returned to come find some more. He hears Kuzuryuu before he sees him, and to that end hears his rather eloquent response to Hiro bringing him the wrong book. This prompts him to wheel around with his books in tow to head down a different row of shelves, with his Porygon Zip hovering quietly in his wake.

He eventually makes his way back around with another stack of books, this one a bit larger and balanced a bit precariously in his arms.....too precariously.
Chihiro again makes it a point to skirt around the shelves, but in doing this he doesn't notice the rug ahead of him being folded slightly. His foot catches on the edge and with a sharp cry of surprise he tumbles onto his knees, the books spilling from his arms onto the floor in front of him. Zip lets out a few alarmed beeps and circles Chihiro a few times. WHY DOESN'T HE HAVE HANDS. :C

He bites his lip and quickly starts trying to gather the books back up, his hands shaking a little as he does. Smooth, that was so smooth.]

[The smoothest. However, what gets Kuzuryuu's attention isn't the crash so much as Zip's distressed beeping. That does nothing for his mood and it's the entire reason he actually bothers looking around the bookshelf at all.]

Oi, keep it down yo-- Fujisaki?

[Oh, hey. Turns out Angry McSwearsalot knows you, Chihiro. Some...how...]

[This probably does nothing to make him seem any less scary, does it? Especially since he's accompanied by a particularly severe-looking Bisharp. Though as he approaches Chihiro, he at doesn't look or sound as angry as he did from the other side of the shelf.]

You okay? The fuck happened over here?

[Ok, while he didn't want to get noticed, he didn't expect for this guy to suddenly know him. Kuzuryuu saying his name startles him enough to drop the book in his hands, prompting him to quickly look away and scoop it back up again, desperately avoiding eye-contact with him for the moment.

How do you know his name omg.]

U-um....no, I...I'm ok...I'm sorry...

[He reaches down to pick up a few of the other books, cautiously stacking them on top of the ones in his arms. He....really has nothing to apologize for here, and yet he's doing it anyway. Meanwhile, Zip is still hovering anxiously next to Chihiro, not fully convinced yet that he's alright.]

[Because he's in f-words with your digital daughter. He knows more than just your name, even. What, you mean she didn't tell you about her crazy classmates yet? No? Well no better time to learn about one of them!!]

[Christ though, Nanami wasn't kidding...]

Tch...you can relax you know. I'm not gonna attack you or anything. Nanami would never let me hear the end of it.

[Nanami.....may have neglected to mention you guys, yeah.....well, specifically, anyway. Being told to relax and actually relaxing are two completely different things, Kuzuryuu.]

[He looks up again, pausing with one of the stray books still in hand.]

[It's the Houndoom who catches Tenten's attention first; familiar with her own, she doesn't hesitate to approach and offer a hand for it to sniff. This guy can't be all by himself, can he? He sure doesn't seem like one of the wild Pokémon she remembers from last year.]

Hey. Where's your trainer? Did they go dancing and leave you all by yourself?

[Because she has a Mienshao wandering around who would be more than happy to (attempt to) dance with it.]

[A hand to sniff? Oh, how nice of you, stranger. Tadami will just take a sniff then...as will the Cubone sitting atop her head. Because mama is doing it so clearly he needs to do it too. Cubone, you are not a dog...]

[After a moment she gives a low whuffing bark, looking over to her master leaning against the wall a few feet away. No he is...definitely not dancing. Try scowling and exuding an aura of "fuck off" to the party at large.]

[Oh no, Cubone is cute! Tenten needs one. She follows the Houndoom's glance toward the -- wow. She'd thought some of the people in the ballroom looked like they didn't want to be there, but this guy looked like he was about to snap.

She gives the Houndoom a friendly pat on the head before heading over, clasping both hands behind her back. This guy was kind of cute, and the eyepatch was really cool-looking!]

Hey! You afraid that wall's gonna fall down without your help?

[It's honestly a wonder Kuzuryuu hasn't snapped yet. Or at least had an aneurysm. It really, really is.]

Tch. [You can almost see him bristle up like a cat at being approached. Who are you and why isn't his aura working on you? Go awaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy.] Don't be stupid.

[ Kuzuryuu-kun, not allowed. When Nanami finally tracks him down, she'll gravitate immediately to the wall he's at, looking prepared to puff out her cheeks in frustration. ]

[ ...And by now he's probably already seen her nerdy get up, complete with the bracelet he got her. Hello, Kuzuryuu-kun, IT'S TIME TO DANCE. ]

Why would I go in there? I told you I wasn't going to dance at this thing, so why the fuck would I go in a ballroom?

[YUP. HE IS AS GRUMPY AS HE LOOKS. And he is not moving from that wall yet.]

[What a coincidence. He isn't alone in holding up the wall, though Tsumiki might be on the opposite side of the party doing so. Eventually she leaves her spot though, thinking about trying to sneak a few snacks, when she spots Kuzuryuu. As covertly as possible - she assumes he doesn't want to attract attention or anything - she slips her way over there and leans against the wall beside him.]
