KEY:

• BLUE areas are where the bulk of the party's events will be located! As you can see, the festivities will be taking place largely outdoors, and the grounds will reflect that; there'll be the usual decorations of pretty floral arrangements, little lights, things like that. Think upscale garden party! There'll also be a ballroom indoors for more traditionally fancy red-carpet goings-on, but most of the action (and volume of guests) will be found mingling out back.
• GREEN areas are where guests will be staying overnight! Unfortunately, you'll be sleeping-bagging it up, since there's a limited amount of bedrooms in this house and they're all being occupied by Clair, Lance, the Elite Four, and guests who are regrettably way more important than you. However, this is where you'll be given space to leave your possessions, claim some sleeping room, and generally crash for the night once the festivities do you in. (Note: you're welcome to try to sleep elsewhere, but Clair might catch you and disapprove. You don't want that, do you?)
• RED areas are unfortunately off-limits to guests! If asked about them, anyone will tell you that those are the rooms and areas that the Elite Four (and their special guests) have claimed for themselves, and they're sealed off tight. Please don't try to break into them anyway; you'll only be caught and punished.

• AREA A is the designated Indoor Ballroom area, for the people who prefer the classy elegance of a formal red-carpet gala over the more whimsy outdoor garden party atmosphere in the back. There's a big skylight, hardwood floors, tasteful artwork, and classy music — a little more upscale than the shenanigans going on outside, for the people who'd rather that kind of thing.

• AREA B will be the area of interest for anyone hoping to sneak a little Pokemon research on the side: this is the Library/Gallery area of the house. While most of it is your standard "tall shelves of ancient identical books" fare, there are a few points of interest — we've detailed them further right here. Guests are welcome to look around a little, but burying themselves in research the whole time will be highly frowned upon, and you'll be politely encouraged to leave the library alone and go rejoin the festivities if you hole up in there for too long.

• AREA C is...well, the Parking Lot. More importantly, it's where you take your Pokemon battles if you simply gotta get your battle on; keep it out and away from the house, please, and try not to make too much of a mess. Skirmishes, sorties, and sparring will be tolerated here and here alone. Do it anywhere else and you'll be facing some very displeased hosts.

• AREA D is the Elite Four's Trophy Room. Please be quiet and respectful if you come up here to have a look around; it's a solemn kind of place. Here you'll find various collections of badges, ribbons, awards, and trophies put on display, with one wall devoted to each member of the Elite Four. There are also pictures of the Elite Four members themselves, though it seems there's been a changeover since the last prom; the candids and Official Portraits™ depict different people entirely now (with the exception of Bruno) and there are a few photos of some sort of ceremony among the others. These photos include Lance being declared Champion of both regions by Professor Oak, while the rest of the Elite Four look on; Lorelai hugging Will and Karen immediately after their promotion to Elite Four; Agatha and Koga having an exhibition battle between her Gengar and his Crobat; all six of them piling into the frame for what amounts to a massive group selfie, etc.

[Celes arrives just outside the entrance to the villa, her Gothitelle sparing her the bother of walking up the driveway in her heels. She's actually in a surprisingly good mood, pleased that's she managed to find a use for the outfit she received in the item drop a few months ago. It's one of her favourites, after all! She's still wearing her hair extensions, although instead of the usual long white ribbons and headpiece, she's simply wearing small red ribbons with a dab of lipstick to match, to ensure she doesn't drown the black roses currently adorning her head. She always did love black roses...

Speaking of matching, her Ninetales is gracefully sweeping around her legs, the ribbon tied around her neck matching those of her trainer perfectly.]

We simply must circulate, Beatrice...who knows what class of people we could come across? Hee hee hee...

[Oh, she's got a mission, alright - time to explore. There's probably lots of gullible people with money in attendance, after all....]

[A - INDOOR BALLROOM]

[Unusually for Celes, she's actually making the effort to socialize with the other guests, instead of doing the usual 'creepy wallflower' routine her classmates are so familiar with. If anything, she seems to...really quite know what she's doing, and appears quite comfortable amongst the more, ah...upscale attendees of Clair's gala. At present, she's tittering along with a well-dressed older gentleman and slowly sipping from a champagne flute - feel free to interrupt her, though, as this old bore's jokes are getting tiresome...]

[B - GALLERY]

[Having decided to take a break from flirting with rich old men (it's hard, but someone has to do it), Celes and Beatrice have found themselves in the gallery, and the human member of the duo seems quite pleased to be there, really. She's currently studying the painting of the Ecruteak skyline, a small smile on her face.]

What a beautiful painting, Beatrice...

[C - TROPHY ROOM]

[Now this is the sort of thing Celes really came to see - her eyes light up when the trophies come into view, her smile widening as her eyes flick over all the different awards scattered around the room.]

Our hosts are certainly rather accomplished, aren't they...I suppose that arrogant demeanor they have is justified.

[Not that she's one to talk, but details...]

I must look into catching a Dragon Pokemon...

It is. [She doesn't even bat an eye at her calling Dragonite "ridiculous" because--hey--she's right, Dragonite is very silly-looking. Cute to Botan, but it doesn't match what she's observed of Celes' aesthetic taste.] Though Dragonair is pretty, and if you haven't heard yet there's a thing called an "everstone" that keeps your Pokemon from evolving. I've learned recently that they can be fashioned into accessories without changing the properties of the stone itself.

[Ever the helpful NPC, that's Botan.]

Oh, yes, I'm enjoying it a lot! I love parties, it took a bit of coaxing to get my sourpuss friends to come along too, but I leaned on them enough and they did so it's even funner now. [Well, by "sourpuss" she just means one, all the rest were either too shy or crotchety.] And you?

...that is one of Clair's signature Pokemon, isn't it? Obviously she has the sense to keep them as they are.

I must say, her good taste extends to her event planning abilities - I am most impressed with this place. It's been a while since I've been able to dress up properly.

[Her daily outfit is more on the casual side, after all!]

Is it normal, for the, ah....'higher-ups' to interact with us like this? I don't remember seeing any similar sorts of events advertised.

So it would seem, perhaps Dragonair is more suited to her aesthetic taste as well.

[Or yes she is all bark and no bite, but Botan's a breeder so she'll have to wait until Yusuke challenges Clair before passing judgement.]

It's very beautiful here, I wouldn't have suspected that a place like this was near the mysterious Tohjo Falls. Although, my friend Yusuke did mention something about there being an event like this last year. I'm not sure if it involved any of the higher-ups interacting with us or people from other regions, I'll have to ask him later. But I hope that means this is an annual thing, I love having opportunities to dress up and meet new people!

The Tohjo falls...I must admit that I don't know anything about them. What is it that makes them so 'mysterious'?

They're usually closed off and travelers aren't allowed in. If my research is correct, it also leads to the path to the Elite Four.

[That's a really mundane answer, though, isn't it...]

Perhaps there's also some hidden items you can't get in stores or exploring the other regions, or some monstrously strong and rare Pokemon.

Miss Celes, thought we'd see ya 'round here sometime.

[Joker isn't particularly interrupting because he can sense Celes wants an escape route. He just likes seeing people he knows. He's down up a bit more formally than he usually is, looking rather smashing if he says so. Gotta work that Victorian style, especially when it's all you really know.]

[There's no Meowth or Purrloin with him, but a Luxray is in fact accompanying him and looking as bored as cats often do. A bit of a contrast to Joker's own excitable air.]

Well, she's a proud sort. Must be nice ta get known for yer skills, and I've found that it's usually the hard sort that like flowers the most.

[At least, that's been his experience, and Beast didn't exactly dispel that line of thought.]

On occasion! Especially when ya can use 'em for all sortsa different messages. I normally ain't one for what the upper class tends ta find popular, but the flowers were a fun thing. Folks around here don't always know what they mean, but that's just fine.

[There was a time, once, when Carmen and Celes first spoke, that the latter mentioned her interest in Gothic fashion. And that certainly is some Gothic fashion she's sporting tonight, which isn't enough to be dispositive, but it's certainly enough to make Carmen wonder — particularly when she's looking at the picture of the Ecruteak skyline, and that's right, they'd talked a bit about that, too, didn't they?

Either way, it's enough to catch Carmen's attention, and so she makes her way over to catch a glimpse of the same work, the hem of her dress brushing occasionally against the ground as she goes.]

The artist's skill is second to none — but for me, the view still pales in comparison to the sight of the real thing.

[Celes turns her head ever-so-slightly at the sound of the voice, flicking her eyes up and down Carmen's body as she does so. If she's impressed with her choice of outfit (which she actually is - excellent colours...), she doesn't make any sign of it apart from a small, polite smile.]

I find myself agreeing with you, actually...although this painting is certainly a satisfying substitute.

[Seriously, why can't she stop looking at this stupid thing? It's not that it reminds her of Japan, or anything!

It reminds me of home. Not the sort of home you find in a place, but the kind you find in people.

I've spent a fair amount of time there. Moreso in years past; lately, the time I've spent there has been...interrupted by other, more pressing concerns.

Ecruteak City does not strike me as a place you want to visit with stressful things on your mind. Such a shame, really.

No, just someone who's been a guest in Johto for a fairly long time. But Ecruteak looks a great deal like a city in the world I'm from, and I was always very fond of that place before I ended up here.

[She casts a friendly glance sideways at Celes.]

The food in particular is spectacular, if you happen to be a connoisseur of that kind of thing.
