KEY:

• BLUE areas are where the bulk of the party's events will be located! As you can see, the festivities will be taking place largely outdoors, and the grounds will reflect that; there'll be the usual decorations of pretty floral arrangements, little lights, things like that. Think upscale garden party! There'll also be a ballroom indoors for more traditionally fancy red-carpet goings-on, but most of the action (and volume of guests) will be found mingling out back.
• GREEN areas are where guests will be staying overnight! Unfortunately, you'll be sleeping-bagging it up, since there's a limited amount of bedrooms in this house and they're all being occupied by Clair, Lance, the Elite Four, and guests who are regrettably way more important than you. However, this is where you'll be given space to leave your possessions, claim some sleeping room, and generally crash for the night once the festivities do you in. (Note: you're welcome to try to sleep elsewhere, but Clair might catch you and disapprove. You don't want that, do you?)
• RED areas are unfortunately off-limits to guests! If asked about them, anyone will tell you that those are the rooms and areas that the Elite Four (and their special guests) have claimed for themselves, and they're sealed off tight. Please don't try to break into them anyway; you'll only be caught and punished.

• AREA A is the designated Indoor Ballroom area, for the people who prefer the classy elegance of a formal red-carpet gala over the more whimsy outdoor garden party atmosphere in the back. There's a big skylight, hardwood floors, tasteful artwork, and classy music — a little more upscale than the shenanigans going on outside, for the people who'd rather that kind of thing.

• AREA B will be the area of interest for anyone hoping to sneak a little Pokemon research on the side: this is the Library/Gallery area of the house. While most of it is your standard "tall shelves of ancient identical books" fare, there are a few points of interest — we've detailed them further right here. Guests are welcome to look around a little, but burying themselves in research the whole time will be highly frowned upon, and you'll be politely encouraged to leave the library alone and go rejoin the festivities if you hole up in there for too long.

• AREA C is...well, the Parking Lot. More importantly, it's where you take your Pokemon battles if you simply gotta get your battle on; keep it out and away from the house, please, and try not to make too much of a mess. Skirmishes, sorties, and sparring will be tolerated here and here alone. Do it anywhere else and you'll be facing some very displeased hosts.

• AREA D is the Elite Four's Trophy Room. Please be quiet and respectful if you come up here to have a look around; it's a solemn kind of place. Here you'll find various collections of badges, ribbons, awards, and trophies put on display, with one wall devoted to each member of the Elite Four. There are also pictures of the Elite Four members themselves, though it seems there's been a changeover since the last prom; the candids and Official Portraits™ depict different people entirely now (with the exception of Bruno) and there are a few photos of some sort of ceremony among the others. These photos include Lance being declared Champion of both regions by Professor Oak, while the rest of the Elite Four look on; Lorelai hugging Will and Karen immediately after their promotion to Elite Four; Agatha and Koga having an exhibition battle between her Gengar and his Crobat; all six of them piling into the frame for what amounts to a massive group selfie, etc.

Twilight Sparkle, Pretty much everywhere

[Dressed to the nines in her lovely star dress, Twilight is bright-eyed and bushy-tailed (the fact that she currently lacks a tail notwithstanding) as she prepares to mingle, dance, study, and just generally have herself a good time.

Flanked on either side by her loyal Dragonite and Alakazam, she's clearly going for impressive but not intimidating. Of course, given that where she is, AJ probably isn't far behind, it's questionable how well she's going to succeed.]

[A: Indoor Ballroom]

[When left to her own devices, Twilight is a terrible dancer. Utterly awful, misery to watch, why oh why would anyone ever want to see that.

When given a set of steps to follow, a partner to dance with, and a chance to practice a bit, she evolves into the most graceful creature alive. And she's more than willing to demonstrate with anyone she knows or who's willing to approach her, either while she's picking at the fruit at the snack table or just in-between dances at the moment. And is that actual champagne? She has no intention of getting drunk, but a glass or two won't hurt...]

[B: Garden Party]

[Settled by the pool in a chair, Twilight watches indulgently as her Pokemon frolic around. She's just a little tuckered out from dancing, and a bit of relaxation is just what she needs.

Having a flower crown placed on her head by a playful Serperior wasn't exactly in her plans, but she hardly stops Aristo when he goes for it.]

[C: Trophy Room]

[There's some very fascinating things in here, but like most people Twilight's most interested in the apparent changing of the guard that seems to have happened.]

You'd figure something like this would have been on the news...

[Still, it's all very intriguing regardless, and she could easily spend a lot of time in here. It's almost like a museum. Buuuuuuut...]

[D: Library]

[Books books books books booooooooooks! Time to read all of the books! Every book imaginable. With a smile on her face and a song in her heart, Twilight is gathering up anything that looks interesting and practically singing to herself as she goes to sit at a table and read. No doubt about it, she's in her element.]

[E: Choose your own adventure]

[Something else you'd like to do with her? Sure, step right up! Just know she won't be bothering with battles unless absolutely forced.]

[Hark! Is that a fellow bookworm nerd over there?

So it is! What as if she was unmistakeable with that hair? Maka knows that the bookworm conduct is "don't interrupt a fellow bookworm when they're in the zone" but she at least wants to say hi, setting down her notepad and sitting at the table with her.]

Hey, Twilight, you look like you're having fun.

[Fortunately, Twilight is a unique specimen of bookworm in that friendship and socializing actually comes before reading for her... most of the time anyway. She raises her head at a familiar voice and beams widely at Maka as soon as she sees her.]

Maka! I haven't seen you all evening, I was wondering if we'd find each other. Come on, pull up a chair, you should see some of what I've found here, it's fascinating. Which subjects were you most interested in again?

Which subjects...I think "everything" at this point, there's still a whole lot I don't know about this world, and the anniversary for my being here is this month. [She gestures at the notebook she brought with her.] I've been looking around and writing down things that looked interesting, I took a peek at Mr. Lance's notes as well--it looks like there's some theories going around about a new "type" of Pokemon, maybe there's Pokemon we haven't met yet out there and the Bloobers are a sign of things to come.

A whole new type? Well that ought to be interesting, what's it called? What are its strengths and weaknesses?

[She's already shifting over to glance over Maka's shoulder at her notes. Personal space is for people who aren't sharing important information, you know.]

[ His pokemon seems to be bent on having a fun time so Yukio had just chosen to leave his happiny to the party while he and his eevee decided to look around. As he wanders the trophy room, he can't help but overhear Twilight. ]

It's... a little odd. You hear all sorts of things about the elite four and how strong they are... but seeing them like this, acting almost casual... it's a change.

[ Oh god what is he doing is this how you socialize? ]

Well it's a reminder that they're still people too, I suppose.

[She turns her eyes to the young man and gives him a wry smile.]

It's easy for a public image to overwhelm you in their position. I'm personally glad to see they haven't let that happen.

I used to be. This is a good reminder that there's more to them than being the Elite Four.

Have... you faced them yet?

Oh no, they haven't been taking challenges since any of us arrived. I'm not entirely certain why that is, but I have to assume they have their reasons.

[Which is a lot more charitable than most people seem to be, but hey, ponies are a bit more understanding in general.]

[In the midst of both of them gathering knowledge, Crocker happens to go for the same book as Twilight is. Not that maybe Crocker needs one more book.]

[He certainly is dressed interestingly in a black suit and pants, white shirt and red tie.]

[She just gives him a disapproving look.]

There's no need to be so hostile about it. If we both want it I'm sure we can work something out, Mister...?

Oh? Why not, Miss - . [Denzel remarks rather harshly at her before answering her question.] Crocker?

And I suppose you have a better idea?

[Did someone say "I need a dance partner"? As the last song ends, Applejack places a hand on Twilight's side, smiling at her.]

Need a hand, Darlin'?

[Twilight just turns her face to AJ with her sweetest smile as soon as she feels that familiar smile. She knows Applejack isn't all that comfortable in her dress, but... by Celestia she looks radiant.]

I'd like nothing better, love.

[She flushes a bit on addressing Applejack as such, but... it's appropriate right now, she thinks. Especially as they're about to slow-dance together.]

[AJ, too, reddens towards Twilight's words. They had been together for nearly a year now, and it was still rare for her to be addressed this way. She leans in, planting a soft kiss in the center of Twilight's forehead, before offering her hand.]

You look great tonight.

[friendyousohard]

[The kiss gets a flush and smile, and she leans up to nuzzle noses with her.] I'm hardly the only one.

[She takes that hand and steps up close to her marefriend, hands on her hip and shoulders just as she's been practicing.]

Good thing we practiced doing this this year, isn't it?

[Jade is still in her dress, but she's taken her stockings and shoes off so she can sit with her feet in the pool. She's let her Pokemon run around and play while she just relaxes.

It's a nice break from inside. She loves it, but there's just so many people!!!]

It's very pretty here, isn't it? The Pokemon seem to really like playing out here. [It was too crowded inside to let them loose.]

Gorgeous. It really gives the feeling that it's as much a party for them as for us.

[She doesn't really want to move from her chair, but she does turn her head to look at Jade and give her a smile.]

Nice to see you face to face, Jade.

I love the gardens. I want to make a garden at my brother's house, but I'll probably be traveling a lot. Maybe after I settle down, I'll start a nice garden.

[Bec stopped running to glance over at them. He likes to make sure Jade is okay.]

It's nice to meet you too! Are you having a lot of fun? I am! I've never been to a party before. Or at least one like this. [Pretty sure birthday parties on a battleship with your ecto bro don't really count.]

[So there is an Absol who, having quietly determined that there is little threat to his papa here, has decided to scout the garden party, nominally to make sure that things stay not dangerous.

...but also to snarf up little any little of cheese that have been dropped on the floor. Because might as well not leave good cheese to waste.

(...That may be the main reason, honestly, but good luck getting Jehra to admit that...)

So yeah, Twilight, have an Absol sniffing under your chair.]

[It isn't actually Twilight who notices the Absol first, but her Serperior. Aristo was just going to get more flowers when he hears the sniffing and turns to see the Absol starting to look around under his Trainer's chair.

He raises one eyebrow archly, and gently nudges Twilight.]

Hmmm? What is it, Aristo?

[Following her Pokemon's gaze, Twilight turns to the Absol.]

Oh. ... Um, what are you doing?

[Jehra looks up and tilts his head, his nose dirtied by a few crumbs. He licks them off before uttering a single inquisitive "Sol?"]

(Will wonders never cease: Rainbow Dash was actually in the ballroom. Then again, it's not like the girl doesn't dance...more or less like it's not one of her favorite things to do, per say. Regardless, she's had at least one glass of champagne by the time she locates her friend. Part of her is surprised Applejack isn't around.)

[AJ probably ran into Tenten or someone while they were resting from a bit too much dancing. Regardless, Twi greets Rainbow with a warm smile.]

Hey Rainbow. Having fun?

(Rainbow replies with a nod and grin. Coming back for a second year was definitely worth it, and this year she was finally a member of the PGC! It was almost like becoming a Wonderbolt.)

Ha, yeah! Helps to be at a cool party when you've got friends to meet up with. What about you?
