KEY:

• BLUE areas are where the bulk of the party's events will be located! As you can see, the festivities will be taking place largely outdoors, and the grounds will reflect that; there'll be the usual decorations of pretty floral arrangements, little lights, things like that. Think upscale garden party! There'll also be a ballroom indoors for more traditionally fancy red-carpet goings-on, but most of the action (and volume of guests) will be found mingling out back.
• GREEN areas are where guests will be staying overnight! Unfortunately, you'll be sleeping-bagging it up, since there's a limited amount of bedrooms in this house and they're all being occupied by Clair, Lance, the Elite Four, and guests who are regrettably way more important than you. However, this is where you'll be given space to leave your possessions, claim some sleeping room, and generally crash for the night once the festivities do you in. (Note: you're welcome to try to sleep elsewhere, but Clair might catch you and disapprove. You don't want that, do you?)
• RED areas are unfortunately off-limits to guests! If asked about them, anyone will tell you that those are the rooms and areas that the Elite Four (and their special guests) have claimed for themselves, and they're sealed off tight. Please don't try to break into them anyway; you'll only be caught and punished.

• AREA A is the designated Indoor Ballroom area, for the people who prefer the classy elegance of a formal red-carpet gala over the more whimsy outdoor garden party atmosphere in the back. There's a big skylight, hardwood floors, tasteful artwork, and classy music — a little more upscale than the shenanigans going on outside, for the people who'd rather that kind of thing.

• AREA B will be the area of interest for anyone hoping to sneak a little Pokemon research on the side: this is the Library/Gallery area of the house. While most of it is your standard "tall shelves of ancient identical books" fare, there are a few points of interest — we've detailed them further right here. Guests are welcome to look around a little, but burying themselves in research the whole time will be highly frowned upon, and you'll be politely encouraged to leave the library alone and go rejoin the festivities if you hole up in there for too long.

• AREA C is...well, the Parking Lot. More importantly, it's where you take your Pokemon battles if you simply gotta get your battle on; keep it out and away from the house, please, and try not to make too much of a mess. Skirmishes, sorties, and sparring will be tolerated here and here alone. Do it anywhere else and you'll be facing some very displeased hosts.

• AREA D is the Elite Four's Trophy Room. Please be quiet and respectful if you come up here to have a look around; it's a solemn kind of place. Here you'll find various collections of badges, ribbons, awards, and trophies put on display, with one wall devoted to each member of the Elite Four. There are also pictures of the Elite Four members themselves, though it seems there's been a changeover since the last prom; the candids and Official Portraits™ depict different people entirely now (with the exception of Bruno) and there are a few photos of some sort of ceremony among the others. These photos include Lance being declared Champion of both regions by Professor Oak, while the rest of the Elite Four look on; Lorelai hugging Will and Karen immediately after their promotion to Elite Four; Agatha and Koga having an exhibition battle between her Gengar and his Crobat; all six of them piling into the frame for what amounts to a massive group selfie, etc.

[WE'RE DOING IT GUYS, WE'RE INVESTIGATING THESE BLOOBERS

and we are doing it around the estate grounds with what appears to be a makeshift tinfoil plate of some of the leftover sweets and goodies from yesterday's big blowout, which let's be real, Rowan probably got out of the fridge and no one dared to tell him otherwise. It's not like there weren't forty pounds of leftovers anyway, and somebody's got to eat those chocolate-filled strawberries or they'll just go to waste.

And that's terrible.

So yes, BlooberQuest™ is temporarily on hold so Rowan can nibble on some of these tasty goodies, but that's fine because there is never a wrong time for a snack break.

Who's this guy? Tenten's pretty sure he was introduced as one of the Important People last night, and if he's roaming the grounds, there's probably something interesting to see. There's got to be, right? I mean, this guy may not be a legendary member of the Elite Four, but he's still important enough. Probably.]

[Well, he seems polite enough, at least. As a matter of fact, when he sees Tenten coming, he offers the plate of goodies to her, motioning as if to instruct her to take one.]

You're one of the trainers from these regions of Johto and Kanto, aren't you? Hem! I spent some time in Kanto a few years back with a fellow professor of mine! His name is Professor Oak; I'm sure you've heard of him. He's made quite a name for himself around here!

[Well, okay, she'll take a chocolate-covered strawberry!] Yeah, that's right! I'm Tenten. I'm going to be the next legendary trainer of both regions!

[Amazingly humble, this one. She finally bites into the strawberry upon that declaration before asking,] Of course I've heard of Professor Oak, but... can I ask who you are?

[Straight to the point yet again. She really should have been paying better attention yesterday.]

After all, there's a Bloober right there, staring at those delicious strawberries and trying to approach them from behind, climbing on the closest useful vantage point, advancing and preparing itself for a tasty treat...]

[Should Rowan happen to turn around right now, he'll get to see the inside of a Bloober's mouth from up close. Very up close.]

Well, now!

[FORTUNATELY, WITH LIGHTNING SPEED, PROFESSOR GRANDPA IS ON THE CASE — as his reflexes kick in and he curls the tinfoil wrapper into more of a burrito before stuffing it amicably into the Bloober's mouth.

That should hold the little interloper, he thinks with satisfaction, without hurting it at all. Must be confusing to suddenly have your mouth stuffed full of foil wrapping, but such are the hazards of sneaking up on an old man and his snacks.]

Up to no good, are you? That's very clever, my little friend!

[Confusing it is indeed. Young Bavarois, surprised by the new development and by the lack of tasty strawberries in its mouth, blinks a few times before giving the tinfoil a tentative chew. Not nearly as tasty as the strawberries. How sad.

By the time it decides that tinfoil burritos are not so pleasant after all, Cecil has caught up and is in grabbing range. Back to the shoulder towel Bavarois goes.]

My apologies, sir. I should have kept a closer watch on it, and I assure you that such an incident will not happen again. Has the slime spread to your clothes?

[So sorry, little blob! Fortunately, Rowan's a little distracted at the moment, because that little rascal certainly is a —

No, no, not at all, if there's any trouble it'll wash. Now, more importantly, what is that little creature, young man? Is it a Ditto practicing some new shape?

...I sometimes wish it was a Ditto, though it's not. Washing it away would truly be that easy if it were the case.

[Because a Ditto wouldn't be nearly so slimy. As if to prove his own thoughts, Cecil pokes Bavarois with his index, which comes away thickly coated.]

Everyone has been calling them Bloobers, but even our Pokédexes have no other information to share. It makes teaching them to battle... more complicated than it should be.

[Fascinating! Snacks forgotten, Rowan's now completely fixated on the Bloober, looking positively delighted.]

Ah, so this is a Bloober! ...I have to say, it's not quite what I was expecting! And you say you haven't been able to learn anything about them? Fascinating!

[ Someone older means they might have a better idea of how to hide at a party like this. Sakura's not the type to really enjoy herself when it comes to these things, so she'll duck away and follow him for a moment, waiting for just the right moment. ]

Hey there, taking care of those leftovers huh? I don't think I had a chance to meet with you earlier.

No sense in letting them go to waste, young lady! Besides, it takes food to fuel the mind as well as the body!

[He says, as he offers her the plate with a nod; evidently that's a cue for her to take one of his snacks for herself.]

And who might you be? A Pokemon trainer, I'll bet! You look like someone who cares a great deal about Pokemon!

[ May as well since he's offering. Plucking one off, she studies it to ensure it hasn't spoiled any before taking a bite. ]

A Pokemon trainer, yup. I haven't taken on any of the gym leaders myself yet, but I'll do that when I visit Kanto soon.

For now, I study the various types of poison associated with the Poison-type Pokemon in order to create antidotes for them. I lost all of my previous research, but that just means I get to pick through it again to see if I overlooked anything as I catch up.

A researcher! Ho ho, I hope you find that very rewarding! Going on a Pokemon journey is the best way to become an expert in Pokemon, you know; traveling places and seeing all different kinds of Pokemon for yourself teaches you a great deal — more than a book ever could!

[Which isn't to say Rowan has a problem with books, but you know, Pokemon journeys are serious business.]

[ If only he knew how she spent most of the first day of the party and what her plans for later on today might be. Hint: it involves lotsa books. ]

It's a honor, Professor Rowan! [ Waving a hand, somehow not losing the treat within it. ] I'm a trainer, Sakura Haruno, but someday I hope to trade in that experience for a place to settle down. Only after I've seen everything I can see here.

My partner is traveling to another region soon. It'll be my first time over there, but we'll be able to see a lot more there.

[...Which still fits the plant theme they have going as professors, oddly enough, and perhaps that is a sign.]

[It seems as though someone else has decided to attempt Blooberquest, now that it's casual day as opposed to classy day. Admittedly, Kayneth has taken that to a pretty unexpected level, given that he's in jeans and a t-shirt as opposed to classy fabrics, but there's a method to his madness --- he is researching Bloobers, after all, and while he suspects things will be less messy than during the actual invasion that's still no reason to ruin something nice. And he does look extremely well put together for jeans and a t-shirt, besides.

Still, he doesn't actually want to be recognized like this, so he's employed the tried and true disguise of wearing his hair down and a pair of shades.

...of course that doesn't make him feel any less underdressed when meeting an actual important person, although...]

This? No, no, my boy! This is my afternoon snack; it's important to take time out for that sort of thing, you know. Hunting for mysterious Pokemon goes much smoother with an alert mind and a full stomach!

[Politely, he offers the wandering man one of the snacks on his makeshift plate.]

[Kayneth graciously takes one and begins munching on it.]

Have you made any progress thus far, then?

Not yet! But the day is young and my spirits are high. The word is that the Bloobers are fond of water, so I'll head down near the falls and see if I can spot one once I'm finished here.

[WHAT A FINE LAD. Clearly he's got a good head on his shoulders, appreciating snacks and all.]
