Summary: Just like always, the Circus is busy as usual... But with a bit of a spooky twist added on thanks to their current partnership with a certain Haunted House.

The Circus is always bustling with activity, even on the days when the shows in the Big Top aren't on. There's plenty of stalls to enjoy besides those, after all! Games, and food, and stalls with all sorts of interesting things for sale. For those living in Goldenrod or passing through, it's no doubt quickly settled itself as a regular scene.

On the 11th, however... Just as always when the shows are promised to happen, the Circus is more bustling than usual and today there's a twist. On the 11th, those walking past the Circus' gates will find themselves in QUITE the different atmosphere. Genuine spider webs are strung across the stalls, skulls strung up in them that seem to clack their teeth at passerby. legions of pumpkins are sprawled throughout the area. At night, and on the foggy day of the 13th, their eerie glow lights up twisting paths throughout the circus grounds. Even quite a few of the workers seem to have gotten into the spirit (possibly at their boss' badgering), and wear outfits from the simple masks to the more complex things.

Beyond the change in atmosphere, however, there are still the things that are usually about! Food, games, and stalls selling various knickknacks can all be found relatively easy although they're joined by a few other themed goods. There's also, of course, the show that will be playing three times a day in the big tent proper!

One notable addition is what appears to be a small station of sorts with a rather ominous carriage that stops at it every now and then pulled by what appear to be a pair of Rapidash... only colored darkly with bones painted across their heads and what might be actual skulls acting as face covers. Well then! Perhaps you might be interested in letting it take you to Jack's Haunted House?

So relax. Have fun! And cross your fingers that you're not terrified of scary clowns and giant spiders.

[ And have one reaper who'd been passing through pausing and backing up a bit. ]

...Listen, mate. You've died once and I wager you prolly don't fancy doing it again... Are you al--

[ There's a pause of surprise from the sudden stolen apple. ]

Looks like you'll be just fine. Fancy some water, though? Something stronger?

[The cheeky grin that Joker gives as he peeks up should probably be smacked off, and he twirls the apple's stick a bit between his fingers.]

Ha, water outta do just fine, I think. Save the strong stuff for after.

[diehardreaper]

Save it for the afterparty, then.

[ And Grim is right on it. The duskull that had been floating between Joker and Ronald zips off and returns with a glass of ice cold water, nudging Joker's arm with it once he returns. ]

There we are. Looks like Grim's got that covered. Bit of a turnout tonight, eh?

[pipers_son]

[Takes a bit of finger positioning for him to hold the apple and the glass in the same hand, but Joker somehow manages. It's amazing what being in a circus can teach you about dexterity.]

Yep! Pleased ta see it- holiday brings in all sorts ta the city, which means some fresh new faces and fresh new money. Think I saw some folks who've showed up before in the crowd too!

[diehardreaper]

No one'd prolly be able to resist the circus. That and you're ace with the advertising.

[ He's never really been one with business sense. Grim settles himself on the table though, reaching for an apple for himself and stopping to look at Joker as if to say "May I?" ]

Good to see you've settled in well enough to start up the business again.

[pipers_son]

Well, I've got myself ta knowin' a few folks.

[It's so much easier when you have gym leaders financing you, especially since he's only talked to more since starting Eve's Garden up.]

[Joker gives an encouraging grin to the little Duskull and a nod of his head. It's for everyone in the troupe, human and pokemon alike. He doesn't mind.]

Well I had ta do somethin'. The gyms and whatnot are all well and nice, but ya can only do so much a that.

[ Grim seems to be grateful for the little treat so he's going to settle himself down on the table to snack on it while his trainer talks to the nice boss-dude. ]

Wager so. If battle isn't your cup of tea, why not something closer to home, eh? The pokemon seem to like it too.

Keeps 'em busy and keeps 'em thinkin' outta what they usually do! About as healthy as any battle, I say.

[Joker gives a stretch, content with how the day's gone, before he remembers something.]

'ave ya been goin' about introducin' yerself as a reaper, then?

[diehardreaper]

Sounds right on the nose to me. Grim here had fun, didn't you, lad?

[ And an enthusiastic nod from the pokemon. That second bit though has him ruffling his hair. ]

It's been part of the introduction so long, I haven't gotten it out of the system, really. But it's only if they ask nowadays. Why?

[pipers_son]

Well, ah... I wasn't too loud about it ta begin with, but... do ya think ya could keep my own 'status', as it were, a secret?

Beast doesn't know what happened ta me... and she 'as enough on her plate just gettin' used ta this place.

[diehardreaper]

[ And a shrug. ]

No worries, mate. To be honest, I don't have all the details anymore. It's been prolly a good two months since we picked you up.

S'not exactly something I'd be at liberty to talk about though.

[pipers_son]

Just want ta make sure. [Sigh!] What a mess...

[diehardreaper]

Your secret's safe with me, mate. You lot're lucky enough to get a second chance, really... those things're bloody rare.

[ He'll just slump in a chair nearby though. ]

Yeah, it is a right mess, I'll give you that.

[pipers_son]

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, yeah? But this is a bloody depressin' topic- let's move on from it, yeah? How've ya been likin' yer work?

[diehardreaper]

Wager it isn't for everyone, yeah.

[ Have a laugh for that. ]

It's a change from the norm, really! And quite honestly, it's been a while since I've been on the street... haven't had to rely on any knives for a while so it's an odd treat.

[pipers_son]

Wager it's enough a treat ta keep ya with us? I hire locals for any acts we're missin' at any time or another, but ta be honest I prefer those who aren't from 'round here. u

They're good folks, and all... but a bit off sometimes.

[diehardreaper]

It'd be a pleasure, mate! Better'n going rusty during my time here, I'll tell you that.

[ A small grin. ]

Course, hope you don't mind I'm doing a sideline job with Honeyed Soul during our off-seasons days. Just a little courier work 'round town... taste tests... if you lot want anything, I could always rustle us some sweets.

[pipers_son]

Not at all! I've talked with the pair that run that shop once or twice, and they're nice enough. I meant ta order somethin' from 'em, but the time just got swept out from underneath my feet before I knew it and I forgot all about it.

[diehardreaper]

You know, I could take your order whenever you fancy and bring it round anytime. Send word to either Grim and I and we'll get that done quick as you please.

[pipers_son]

For now? I think our own stalls are burstin' as it is! [He gives a laugh.] Maybe I'll see what they got 'round Christmas time. Maybe I'll 'ave gotten tired a sweets by then.

[diehardreaper]

Right then!

[ He's happy to work when work is actually fun. ]

Speaking of... my Belle is prolly out there with samples, last I checked... I should go take a butchers on how she's coming along.

Wouldn't want ta keep her waitin'. I'll be around if ya need me!

Will do! And much as you've got a hand in keeping this ship afloat, you aren't going to burn yourself out, mate.

[ A small two fingered salute for that. ]
