7th Act - Boys and girls of every age
Who: Come one, come all!
Where: Goldenrod, the Eve's Garden Circus
When: The 11th - 13th
Summary: Just like always, the Circus is busy as usual... But with a bit of a spooky twist added on thanks to their current partnership with a certain Haunted House.
Rating: PG
Log:

The Circus is always bustling with activity, even on the days when the shows in the Big Top aren't on. There's plenty of stalls to enjoy besides those, after all! Games, and food, and stalls with all sorts of interesting things for sale. For those living in Goldenrod or passing through, it's no doubt quickly settled itself as a regular scene.
On the 11th, however... Just as always when the shows are promised to happen, the Circus is more bustling than usual and today there's a twist. On the 11th, those walking past the Circus' gates will find themselves in QUITE the different atmosphere. Genuine spider webs are strung across the stalls, skulls strung up in them that seem to clack their teeth at passerby. legions of pumpkins are sprawled throughout the area. At night, and on the foggy day of the 13th, their eerie glow lights up twisting paths throughout the circus grounds. Even quite a few of the workers seem to have gotten into the spirit (possibly at their boss' badgering), and wear outfits from the simple masks to the more complex things.
Beyond the change in atmosphere, however, there are still the things that are usually about! Food, games, and stalls selling various knickknacks can all be found relatively easy although they're joined by a few other themed goods. There's also, of course, the show that will be playing three times a day in the big tent proper!
One notable addition is what appears to be a small station of sorts with a rather ominous carriage that stops at it every now and then pulled by what appear to be a pair of Rapidash... only colored darkly with bones painted across their heads and what might be actual skulls acting as face covers. Well then! Perhaps you might be interested in letting it take you to Jack's Haunted House?
So relax. Have fun! And cross your fingers that you're not terrified of scary clowns and giant spiders.

That's when he spots Maka, the young woman who helped him during the storm.]
Maka?
[Scar approaches with what he hopes is an unintimidating expression. He just means to thank her in person, is all.]
no subject
[Of course she'll recognize his voice right away and regard him as though it's completely normal for giant adults to approach her (it actually is). He very much looks to be in better health than the last time she saw him, which is a relief.]
How have you been? I hope my friend didn't bother you too much that day. Are you feeling all right now?
[All right Maka, settle the worrywarting down.]
no subject
But Scar knows all about just how receiving perceptions could be.]
He was only mildly irritating.
[It's difficult to know just how serious he is.]
I'm much better than I was. Thank you for your help.
no subject
[It's not that she doesn't remember helping him out, it's that she's surprised that he's thanking her for it. It's something anyone would do, isn't it?
Ah, never mind. Fussing over it wouldn't do, it'd probably annoy him.]
I'm glad for that. I was worried for a while there, and I know Daniel looked pretty worried too. How's Daniel doing, by the way?
no subject
He's fine.
[Scar lets the quiet Growlithe out, who immediately recognizes Maka with a yip and an enthusiastic wag of his tail.]
Still not fond of rain, but that is expected.
no subject
[But she takes two Pokeballs off of her belt and releases a female Pyroar and a Houndoom, kneeling down to flash a smile at Daniel.]
Hi, Daniel! These are my friends, Sekhmet and Kali. They're Fire Pokemon like you are, so they'd be happy to play with you!
[Yes, because that's exactly how it works, Maka. Standing up again to face Scar, she links her fingers behind her back and smiles--a little more genuinely at least.]
At least this time around we didn't get any hurricanes, though when those dogs and cats fell out of the sky I was really worried about them getting hurt. Have you gotten any of the new Pokemon that came around?
no subject
That's when Maka asks about the swarms, and Scar's face practically answers the question for her.]
One of the purple cats became rather attached to me.
[He pulls out a Pokéball and lets Espurr out in all of her soul-piercing, shaking glory.]
Don't touch her ears.
no subject
[But they're so cute and fluffyyyy.]
Is she okay?
no subject
She's... mostly all right, I think.
[Scar leans down to pick up Keshet gently. If nothing else, she seems to like being held. She burrows into Scar's jacket.]
Certainly very different in nature, from my others. When I pulled aside her ears to wash behind them, it caused an explosion.
[Said as flatly as humanly possible.]
no subject
[That's certainly a thing.]
You're not supposed to wash a cat's ears anyway, you might get soap in them and that's bad.
[Maka honey that was not the point.]
Maybe she's nervous because she thinks it might happen again and she doesn't want to hurt anyone?
no subject
[It's so small a detail that Scar normally wouldn't care enough to clarify, but he doesn't want anyone thinking his cat-care is sub-par. It's one of the only things he has to be a little proud of.]
I think so.
[Scar lightly strokes the tiny cat's back as he holds her.]
She shakes nearly all the time.
[It makes him nervous.]
no subject
[Just...as casually said as possible.]
I think it's a safe bet that the cats are Psychic types...and a lot of them have been disturbed by something unseen lately. Maybe she's feeling it, too?
no subject
[Keshet wiggles out of Scar's hands and climbs onto his shoulder. Advantages of being tiny.]
Perhaps I will ask the trainers at large about it. She doesn't seem to ever be content or comfortable.
no subject
[Only SOMEWHAT of one.]
I'm sure you'll figure it out, then you can spend the rest of the time figuring out her quirks besides being jittery all the time. My main Psychic like to decorate my house.
