[And just as she promised in her text message, Sayaka arrives at the Pokémon Center in a matter of a few minutes. Present with her is her Swablu, perched on her usual spot atop Sayaka's head, and also her recently acquired Sentret, trotting shyly behind her feet. Her Dedenne had decided to stay back in her inn room alongside her Rapidash, which Sayaka didn't seem to mind at all; it was better to have someone to watch over her stuff, after all.

After stepping foot inside of the PokéCenter, she glances around the building to try and find Mimi through the crowd, a broad smile crossing her lips upon finally finding the girl. She quickly makes her way towards her, waving her arm above her head while she does so.]

Tachikawa-saaaaaaan!

[ Mimi answers with an equally cheery, possibly even more enthusiastic wave. ] Maizono-saaaan!

[ She hops up, rushing over to Sayaka. Her Jumpluff bobs along in her wake. ] Oh, it feels like I've been waiting forever to meet you! How was your trip? Can I pet Utako? [ She can't help it. The bird is just so fluffy! ]

It was pleasant, thank you for asking! Travelling is far easier when you have something to ride on.

[She's still pretty grateful that her friend is letting her borrow her Rapidash. At Mimi's next question, she gives a small giggle, reaching up to scoop the Swablu into the palm of her hands and bringing her down so that she'd be at Mimi's level.]

Sure you can! She enjoys being pet, actually.

You have a Pokémon you can ride on? Wow! What is it? Can it fly? I really want to beat the gym so I can get one of my Pokémon to fly! I think I'm gonna challenge it really soon!

[ Mimi puts out a hand and lightly pets the Swablu, giggling as she does so. ] Oh, she's so soft! Hanemaru's really soft too, but Utako feels like a little cloud! She's just darling, Maizono-san!

No, it can't fly, unfortunately. It's a Rapidash. My friend loaned it to me to help me get to Violet quicker; just like you, I'm wanting to challenge the gym to be able to use Fly with Utako. Let's both do our best and earn that badge, okay?

She does, doesn't she? I'm sure she'll feel even more like a cloud when I'm able to fly with her...ah, but she'd be much bigger by then.

Ooh! I don't know what a Rapidash is, but it sounds really fast! I wish I had a Pokémon I could ride on! Anything's better than all this walking! Though even walking is nicer when you have friends with you, of course!

Flying on Utako sounds wonderful! She would have to get a little bigger, though, wouldn't she? [ Mimi pictures Sayaka trying to fly through the sky perched on a Swablu, and giggles again. ] But I bet it would be amazing, up there among the clouds! Oh, I've got to beat that gym soon!

He is, yes. He's watching over my inn room right now, but I don't mind showing him to you sometime. I have to agree that it's better walking with friends than alone, though.

[And she definitely considers her Pokémon as her friends.]

Someone like you can certainly win that badge with no problem, Tachikawa-san.

Aww, Maizono-san, you really think so? I hope you're right! We've all been training really hard for it!

Speaking of training! [ She's trying not to sound too excited, but... well. She's Mimi. ] Can you teach me how to be an idol now? Can you can you can you?

[Sayaka can't help but laugh a bit at Mimi's sudden excitement.]

Sure, I can. Is there somewhere in particular you want to go? Perhaps one of the routes will work.

[ SHE'S GOING TO LEARN HOW TO BE AN IDOL OK there is literally no way she could not be excited! ]

Yeah! You're probably sick of Route 31 by now, so what about Route 32? There are some weird ruins there too! It's all super mysterious! You'll love it!

Oh? That sounds very interesting...that'll work! Let's go!

[ And so: more walking. All the way out of town and towards the ruins. Which are pretty cool ruins, all things considered! But this isn't archaeologist training. This is Idol Training! And so Mimi leads them to an open clearing from which the ruins are visible, though not incredibly close. There are a couple people around, but it's okay. Idols need an audience! ]
