Summary: After all the shenanigans of Hoennween, it's about time everybody had a chance to relax and unwind, courtesy of some actually benign NPCs. With all the luxuries of the Hotel Richissime waiting at their disposal, that shouldn't be too difficult a prospect!

A FEW OTHER SETTING NOTES:

• At the moment, this log spans the entirety of the New Year's Eve plot, so starters may be posted for any time on either day of the event. If things start getting massive and it looks like an overflow log will be necessary, we'll definitely see about putting one up, and will link it to this one if need be.

• The Event Itinerary can be found here! Remember that participating in this course of events is not mandatory, but it's what will be going on in the grand scheme of things over the course of the event.

• All event participants are being housed on the fourth and fifth floors of the hotel. Your bedrooms are laid out like this; if you participated in our IC Rooming Roulette, you can find your buddy on this table here!

• Most activities here will be free! ICly, your characters will use their room cards to "pay" for most things, and the charges will be applied to their room (which of course, they are not paying for personally). Gift shops, parts of the casino, and food not provided as part of the event are not chargeable to your rooms and characters will have to use their own money in those locations.

• Underage characters may use the casino; however, they may be subject to some social scrutiny and side-eyeing in the event that they attempt to get in on one of the high-roller tables.

A NOTE ABOUT USING THREADS ON THIS LOG FOR AC:

Because of how our AC period works (the grace week into January still counting toward December), all threads on this log are valid toward December's AC, regardless of timestamp! However, because the log technically spans two different months and we want to encourage tagging out on it, we have also made this decision:

On this log and this log alone, comment threads timestamped in January (OOCly) that reach AC-length may be used towards January's AC, as well. Therefore, if a thread on this log reaches AC length with 10+ comments timestamped in January, you can use it toward January's AC (assuming the same thread has not already been used to satisfy December's AC).

[ William's just gonna pause in his walk down the corridor and frown as he watches the tiny pokemon fly past him. He doesn't move from his place as Yukio is running up to him. Just merely pushes his glasses up. ]

Something flew past.

[ He's never seen a Klefki, but he can only assume that was one. ]

[ Something? ]

Uh... was... was said something a flying keychain holding a keycard?

[ He's trying not to be rude but that Klefki's given him quite the run so don't mind him trying to catch his breath? ]

[ William hadn't gotten too good a look at it, but there was something else he'd noticed. ]

It was making a jingling noise, much like it was holding keys.

[ Do you need assistance in catching it? ]

That sounds like Ruda, alright. [ He'll just pause, sighing as he shakes his head. ] I'm not really sure if he's doing it just because he wants someone to play with or if he really wants to get away. [ But turning his attention back to William. ] He... didn't bump into you, did he?

He's most likely wanting your attention. If he simply wanted to leave, he wouldn't have taken your keys, thus requiring you to follow him.

[ William has way too much experience with things misbehaving simply to get his attention. ]

No. I can assist you in locating him, if you need some help.

[ There's relief there though. Will's evidently not the type you want to cross. ]

He'd probably want me to go after him... but chances are he'll come back on his own once he realizes I've stopped following.

[ But still... ]

If... it isn't too much trouble. We just got here, after all. I wouldn't want to take up your time.

Perhaps we can walk around for a bit. Stay close but not enough that it's giving him the attention he wants.

[ William begins to walk calmly in the direction Klefki flew. ]

[ And give him a second to finally pick up the pace. Gosh this guy's all business.

So... did you finally find your way to Goldenrod?

Yes, I was able to get there fairly quickly due to a borrowed... Ponyta, I believe.

The city certainly holds more amenities than where I first arrived.

[ He'll pause around the lobby area, watching the Klefki closely as it flits around. ]

That's good... it sometimes gets a little rough on newcomers.

[ Ruda meanwhile is playing hard to get with them, hiding behind the welcome desk and vases, pretending that he isn't watching them and instead more interested in the keycard he's playing with. ]

It takes a little getting used to, the way I see it... depending on Pokemon as much as the locals do.

If your Klefki enjoys carrying things that much, that can probably be used to your advantage.

[ Shaking his head at Ruda. ]

Assuming you can teach it to behave and return the items when you need them.

He usually limits his usefulness to keys. I don't think he likes carrying anything else.

[ Believe him, he's tried. He tried to get Ruda to hold his shopping bags, hold their potion bag during training, hold Rin's cookbooks up... but much to his dismay, Ruda either looses interest or downright refuses to pick whatever up in the first place. Said annoyance is evident in Yukio's brow as he shakes his head. ]

Maybe he's just stubborn. Do you know how to deal with those types?

[ If William was one to snort at humerous things, that would have just happened. However, this is William T. Spears we're dealing with, so all you'll get is a grimace. ]

Unfortunately I have plenty of experience.

[ He feels sorry for the poor sods who have to deal with this guy in a bad mood.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Will's room is a sneeze. ]

Any advice for equally stubborn pokemon?

[ He may be half joking with that question. ]

[ That's what he's been attempting to do with his new Duskull. ]

[ There's a pause as he ruffles his hair. Ah, but speaking of stubborn-- ]

Yes, we met up in Goldenrod City. I am currently rooming with him.

That's good. This world's strange enough as it is.

[ As much as he'd hate to admit it. ]

I've had no issues getting along with Mercury here.

[ Mercury coos slightly. She seems to have nodded off on William's shoulder. ]

It's my latest one who has been giving me a headache.
