Summary: After all the shenanigans of Hoennween, it's about time everybody had a chance to relax and unwind, courtesy of some actually benign NPCs. With all the luxuries of the Hotel Richissime waiting at their disposal, that shouldn't be too difficult a prospect!

A FEW OTHER SETTING NOTES:

• At the moment, this log spans the entirety of the New Year's Eve plot, so starters may be posted for any time on either day of the event. If things start getting massive and it looks like an overflow log will be necessary, we'll definitely see about putting one up, and will link it to this one if need be.

• The Event Itinerary can be found here! Remember that participating in this course of events is not mandatory, but it's what will be going on in the grand scheme of things over the course of the event.

• All event participants are being housed on the fourth and fifth floors of the hotel. Your bedrooms are laid out like this; if you participated in our IC Rooming Roulette, you can find your buddy on this table here!

• Most activities here will be free! ICly, your characters will use their room cards to "pay" for most things, and the charges will be applied to their room (which of course, they are not paying for personally). Gift shops, parts of the casino, and food not provided as part of the event are not chargeable to your rooms and characters will have to use their own money in those locations.

• Underage characters may use the casino; however, they may be subject to some social scrutiny and side-eyeing in the event that they attempt to get in on one of the high-roller tables.

A NOTE ABOUT USING THREADS ON THIS LOG FOR AC:

Because of how our AC period works (the grace week into January still counting toward December), all threads on this log are valid toward December's AC, regardless of timestamp! However, because the log technically spans two different months and we want to encourage tagging out on it, we have also made this decision:

On this log and this log alone, comment threads timestamped in January (OOCly) that reach AC-length may be used towards January's AC, as well. Therefore, if a thread on this log reaches AC length with 10+ comments timestamped in January, you can use it toward January's AC (assuming the same thread has not already been used to satisfy December's AC).

[As Lust starts to wander near the spa, she can find Red by the entrance looking thoughtful. Once the other woman is close enough, however, she snaps out of her thoughts and steps back with an embarrassed smile as she gestures to it.]

[Manners, Lust has them! And she's been determined to make more friends, now that she's ascertained she has that ability.]

Were you considering making use of the spa amenities? I visited one in Goldenrod once, it was very relaxing.

[There's an almost shy nod before she pulls out her Pokegear. She wasn't expecting any company, so she doesn't have her Gardevoir out to help her with communication problems.]

I've been roughing it for so long, I think I've forgotten how it feels to be pampered.

Everyone needs a bit of pampering now and then. More often 'now'. And I hate doing this sort of thing alone.

[Someone else taking charge doesn't bother her a bit. In fact, she just gives a bit of a grin and follows along.]

A lot of things are better with company, right?

They are. It's human nature to want companionship of some sort - we aren't made to be solitary creatures. 'Human nature' covering a broad metaphorical spectrum, of course.

[But the word is one used out of habit, even if she isn't technically human beyond her current biology.]

Were there any services you were particularly interested in?

My hair and nails, I suppose. There is a big party going on tonight, after all.

[A pause, and then-]

How do you feel about psychic types? I have a Gardevoir that helps me talk with people a little easier, if you don't mind.

Yes, there is. I'm becoming quite enamored of holiday parties, now that I've experienced them. Maybe a skin treatment, also...

[Lust smiles at the question and shakes her head easily.]

No problem with psychics. I have an Espurr myself, I brought him with me but he doesn't like crowds so he's in his ball. Honestly, it's only ghost types that make me a bit uneasy.

[For very personal reasons.]

[Making a note to keep her Mismagius in her Pokeball, Red quickly retrieve's Helps and releases her. As the Gardevoir takes a look around to see what they've gotten into, Red taps her on the shoulder. After a moment, her own voice pipes up in Lust's mind.]

::Testing, testing.::

[Judging by her smile, she's teasing.]

[Lust could understand why some would have a problem with this form of communication - it is a bit disorienting, having a voice speak directly to the part of her brain that processed language and communication. Her mind keeps attempting to pin point an external source of origin.]

Oh that's strange - not unpleasant, just strange.

[And she imagined extremely useful in a variety of situations.]

[Taking a look at the services, she points up.]

::Where do you think we should start?::

If you want your nails done, we should start with those. They take time to dry. I suppose I could get my toes done... I don't like anyone else handling my fingernails.

[And her feet were all Scar saw of her in the room, what with the sheet hung for privacy. At least they could be enticing feet.]

[Whatever the reason for that, Red can understand there are places people aren't comfortable having messed with. So she gives another nod.]

::Nails it is.:: [She flags down an assistant, and grins to Lust.] ::I like your makeup, by the way.::

Oh, thank you. I tried dabbling in other color palettes, but I like this the best.

[Maybe it's simply familiar, but she never felt right in lighter lips or eyes. She'll have her toes done dark, too, she decides. The shoes she wearing are open toed, everything will match.]

Speaking of colors, your hair's quite stunning.

I was named after physical appearance too. I'm Lust.

[It's the most often misunderstanding in regards to her name. She herself isn't a very lustful creature, but she was physically the object of lust. And while that life is behind her, it's still the only name she remembers answering to.

She has to repeatedly wave the attendant away from her hands once they're seated, insisting she really only wants the pedicure option, relenting to at least soak her hands.]

Have you been in this world very long?

[Settling down into her own seat, Red lets her hands be handled appropriately and just relaxes. It's been a while since she's been able to.]
