Summary: After all the shenanigans of Hoennween, it's about time everybody had a chance to relax and unwind, courtesy of some actually benign NPCs. With all the luxuries of the Hotel Richissime waiting at their disposal, that shouldn't be too difficult a prospect!

A FEW OTHER SETTING NOTES:

• At the moment, this log spans the entirety of the New Year's Eve plot, so starters may be posted for any time on either day of the event. If things start getting massive and it looks like an overflow log will be necessary, we'll definitely see about putting one up, and will link it to this one if need be.

• The Event Itinerary can be found here! Remember that participating in this course of events is not mandatory, but it's what will be going on in the grand scheme of things over the course of the event.

• All event participants are being housed on the fourth and fifth floors of the hotel. Your bedrooms are laid out like this; if you participated in our IC Rooming Roulette, you can find your buddy on this table here!

• Most activities here will be free! ICly, your characters will use their room cards to "pay" for most things, and the charges will be applied to their room (which of course, they are not paying for personally). Gift shops, parts of the casino, and food not provided as part of the event are not chargeable to your rooms and characters will have to use their own money in those locations.

• Underage characters may use the casino; however, they may be subject to some social scrutiny and side-eyeing in the event that they attempt to get in on one of the high-roller tables.

A NOTE ABOUT USING THREADS ON THIS LOG FOR AC:

Because of how our AC period works (the grace week into January still counting toward December), all threads on this log are valid toward December's AC, regardless of timestamp! However, because the log technically spans two different months and we want to encourage tagging out on it, we have also made this decision:

On this log and this log alone, comment threads timestamped in January (OOCly) that reach AC-length may be used towards January's AC, as well. Therefore, if a thread on this log reaches AC length with 10+ comments timestamped in January, you can use it toward January's AC (assuming the same thread has not already been used to satisfy December's AC).

[ William stops where he is, a perplexed look on his face. He glances around briefly - he heard someone address him but it felt more like a...thought? He turns to the redhead nearby, the Pokémon she's with is not one he's familiar with yet. ]

I'm sorry. Did you say something?

[Red gives a nod, but it's the Gardevoir who steps forward with her eyes faintly glowing for a moment as the words come again.]

I did. Hello, sir.

[ William takes note of the Gardevoir's glowing eyes and nods as he understands. ]

Ah. A psychic type, I assume?

[ It's his first time running into a psychic type, at all, actually. He looks back up to the woman beside it. ]

Is your Pokémon speaking of its own accord, or for you, miss?

Both of us. [The kind of voice changes- it's distinctly Red's, although only one person in all of Johto and Kanto knows it.]

::We're both a bit lost.::

[ William makes a mental note of the differences in the voices he's hearing. ]

[ William extends a hand to Red, offering to shake. ]

[Without missing a beat, she extends her own hand to give his a firm shake. What a gentleman.]

::Red. Just Red. Have you found your own room yet?::

I've not found mine yet. However, the key I was given says 420. I believe it is down this way.

[ William gestures to the long hallway ahead of them. ]

We should find yours first, though.

[That makes her perk up, and she shows him her own key.]

[ He gives what's as close to a smile as William T. Spears is capable of. Essentially a calm nod. ]

[ Reaching room 413, William offers to hold her bag so she can unlock her door. ]

[Unlocking her door, she takes her bag with a smile and her Gardevoir gives a curtsy.]

::It'd be nice to look around with someone, and I'm not sure where my traveling companion has disappeared to.::

[ William's certainly impressed with the politeness of Red's Gardevoir. His own Pidove is still a bit... excitable. ]

[Giving a wave, she finally steps inside. A quick change into some fresher clothes, and she'll be set. After all, she slept in these on the plane ride here.]

[ William will do the same, though the outfit he returns in is much the same as the one he was wearing previously. Can never have enough suits! ]

[Red just gives a wave of her hand as she and her Gardevoir give relaxed smiles.]

::Not at all. I think you were quicker than I was, actually. So, was there anywhere in particular that you heard about?::

[ William reaches into this inner coat pocket and retrieves a pamphlet that was given to him by one of the receptionists. He opens it up an reads off a few things. ]

I see there is a nice café on the upper level. As well as a spa resort of some kind. Apparently they treat Pokémon, as well.

[ He raises an eyebrow to that. ]

[A pokemon spa... Well that sounds interesting. She taps her lower lip thoughtfully.]

Does it say if any Pokemon types are limited?

[ William regards the Gardevoir at Red's feet before tucking the pamphlet back into his jacket. ]

It would be good to know. I'm sure Mercury here would enjoy the time, as well.

I wonder if we are all given Pokémon that are suited to our needs. Much like you seem to have been.

[At that, Red only shakes her head with a slight smile.]

I'm not sure about that. Help is a Pokemon I caught. When I first arrived here, I just had Luna, my Electrike at the time. It was storming as well, but I think that might have just been coincidence.
