Summary: After all the shenanigans of Hoennween, it's about time everybody had a chance to relax and unwind, courtesy of some actually benign NPCs. With all the luxuries of the Hotel Richissime waiting at their disposal, that shouldn't be too difficult a prospect!

A FEW OTHER SETTING NOTES:

• At the moment, this log spans the entirety of the New Year's Eve plot, so starters may be posted for any time on either day of the event. If things start getting massive and it looks like an overflow log will be necessary, we'll definitely see about putting one up, and will link it to this one if need be.

• The Event Itinerary can be found here! Remember that participating in this course of events is not mandatory, but it's what will be going on in the grand scheme of things over the course of the event.

• All event participants are being housed on the fourth and fifth floors of the hotel. Your bedrooms are laid out like this; if you participated in our IC Rooming Roulette, you can find your buddy on this table here!

• Most activities here will be free! ICly, your characters will use their room cards to "pay" for most things, and the charges will be applied to their room (which of course, they are not paying for personally). Gift shops, parts of the casino, and food not provided as part of the event are not chargeable to your rooms and characters will have to use their own money in those locations.

• Underage characters may use the casino; however, they may be subject to some social scrutiny and side-eyeing in the event that they attempt to get in on one of the high-roller tables.

A NOTE ABOUT USING THREADS ON THIS LOG FOR AC:

Because of how our AC period works (the grace week into January still counting toward December), all threads on this log are valid toward December's AC, regardless of timestamp! However, because the log technically spans two different months and we want to encourage tagging out on it, we have also made this decision:

On this log and this log alone, comment threads timestamped in January (OOCly) that reach AC-length may be used towards January's AC, as well. Therefore, if a thread on this log reaches AC length with 10+ comments timestamped in January, you can use it toward January's AC (assuming the same thread has not already been used to satisfy December's AC).

[Chihiro, of course, is not planning on going inside the casino. Actually he had just been passing by with his Leavanny following, on his way to check out the gift shops when he spots Joker standing nearby with Invidia and Angel. He isn't close enough to hear exactly what's being said, but he can tell that something's up regardless.

Still, it's been a while since he's been able to see Joker- and his star pupil- in person, so after a bit of hesitation he makes his way over.]

Joker-san, is everything alright?

Oh, 'lo, Chihiro. [Joker gives his Pokemon a break from scolding and just gives a sigh, rubbing the back of his neck.] Just a bit a trouble... Although they haven't got caught for it, so that's all well.

Angel just convinced Invidia ta help her with somethin' foolish, is all.

...Oh dear...

[He steps a little closer, casting Invidia a sympathetic look. Meanwhile, Shiruku is watching Angel with a look that says '...what did you do, though']

Well, if they weren't caught...it's okay, right? ...as long as they don't do it again.

[You know what? No, she refuses, she is playing guilty. Angel makes her eyes go as wide and innocent as possible while Joker shakes his head. Invidia's face is still in his paws.]

I'll just have ta keep a closer eye on her so that she doesn't get inta the casino... Cheatin', in a high class place like this. Shameful. You'd get caught in no time.

[Chihiro and his Leavanny gasp in unison at that because woah there.]

[Hup, now it's on. Angel bursts out chittering because excuse you sir that is not how it's going and then the two of them just end up glowering at one another with puffed out cheeks.]

[That's the problem with psychic types. Sometimes the arguments end up completely in the arguers heads.]

[Invidia just makes a whine. He is ashamed.]

[Somehow he feels like he shouldn't be in the middle of this, but honestly he feels bad for Invidia more than anyone. He gently reaches out and puts his hand on the Zoroark's arm. He whispers to him, letting Joker and Angel continue to glare at each other.]

It's okay...I'm...sure you didn't mean any harm by it.

[There's a ripple in the air, and then Invidia shifts into his usual human guise.]

"She wanted to play at the poker table to win money for the circus but didn't think they would let a Mime Jr play... so she asked me to make her look like a human so she could play... I guess she was using her powers to look in people's heads and said because she could do it naturally, it was okay..."

[Sob.]

[...oh no you poor thing. Chihiro's frown deepens as he continues to gently stroke Invidia's now human-like arm.]

[The Joker-Angel stare off finally breaks, and the ringleader heaves a sigh before kneeling down besides Chihiro.]

Just don't go along with whatever she tells ya ta do, alright? Don't take it so hard, now...

[There's a small huff from Angel at the words but then she's also coming over to pat at Invidia's leg.]

[..Makes for quite the little scene.]

Yer day been just about as excitin', Chihiro?

I wasn't expecting for this place to be quite as big as it is, so I haven't even seen it all yet.
