Summary: After all the shenanigans of Hoennween, it's about time everybody had a chance to relax and unwind, courtesy of some actually benign NPCs. With all the luxuries of the Hotel Richissime waiting at their disposal, that shouldn't be too difficult a prospect!

A FEW OTHER SETTING NOTES:

• At the moment, this log spans the entirety of the New Year's Eve plot, so starters may be posted for any time on either day of the event. If things start getting massive and it looks like an overflow log will be necessary, we'll definitely see about putting one up, and will link it to this one if need be.

• The Event Itinerary can be found here! Remember that participating in this course of events is not mandatory, but it's what will be going on in the grand scheme of things over the course of the event.

• All event participants are being housed on the fourth and fifth floors of the hotel. Your bedrooms are laid out like this; if you participated in our IC Rooming Roulette, you can find your buddy on this table here!

• Most activities here will be free! ICly, your characters will use their room cards to "pay" for most things, and the charges will be applied to their room (which of course, they are not paying for personally). Gift shops, parts of the casino, and food not provided as part of the event are not chargeable to your rooms and characters will have to use their own money in those locations.

• Underage characters may use the casino; however, they may be subject to some social scrutiny and side-eyeing in the event that they attempt to get in on one of the high-roller tables.

A NOTE ABOUT USING THREADS ON THIS LOG FOR AC:

Because of how our AC period works (the grace week into January still counting toward December), all threads on this log are valid toward December's AC, regardless of timestamp! However, because the log technically spans two different months and we want to encourage tagging out on it, we have also made this decision:

On this log and this log alone, comment threads timestamped in January (OOCly) that reach AC-length may be used towards January's AC, as well. Therefore, if a thread on this log reaches AC length with 10+ comments timestamped in January, you can use it toward January's AC (assuming the same thread has not already been used to satisfy December's AC).

[He'd even cried a little-- what else was he gonna do?]

[But after a couple days, when the shock and uncertainty'd had time to fade... Wrath unsurprisingly began to feel himself getting angry.]

[How much had he watched Envy swagger around and imply that he was the BEST of Master's servants? How many times had he looked up to him and wished he could be that sure of everything he did? When ALL ALONG, it turns out Wrath was the more loyal one after all!]

[Ooh, it's both vindicating and infuriating all at once!]

[So when Wrath spots Envy (not hard to, even if he looks REALLY DIFFERENT FROM NORMAL), fresh from several weeks of Rocket training... it's absolutely impossible to resist the temptation.]

[LET'S SEE WHAT YOU'VE GOT IN YOUR POCKETS, ENVY.]</sub>

[The answer? NOT MUCH. These aren't his normal clothes, after all, and he didn't even bother to bring his 'Gear to the party. He's just got a few spare hair ties...and a WALLET.]

<sub>[MAN WRATH DOESN'T CARE, HE'LL TAKE THEM.]

[Wallets are wallets! And maybe the hair ties are valuable, who the heck knows, Wrath sure doesn't. He'd better take them anyway, just in case.]

[Swiftly but silently, he draws the lot of it out of the older Homunculus's pocket... and then backs away, holding his breath.]</sub>

[The problem with this particular target? He's spent a whole lot of his time in this world being a pickpocket himself. And sure, he's gotten pretty rusty since Miguel and Tulio left, so he doesn't notice until Wrath has already gotten his stuff and backed away...but he still notices.]

[And when he does, he turns right around with a scowl on his face...and sees Wrath. This was you, wasn't it?]

Hey!

[He starts forward to try and grab hold of Wrath. Give him his things back! The wallet might not have really anything in it, but it's his wallet!]

<sub>[W'uh oh. Busted.]

[But you know what? Wrath is just mad enough at Envy that the chance to rub this in his face is actually kind of appealing.]

[So when eye contact is made, Wrath bares his sharky teeth in a wicked little sneer, and then whips around to dart off through the crowd.]

[UP FOR A CHASE SCENE, ENVY?]</sub>

[HE SURE IS, BRAT. Especially after that sneer.]

You--!

[Sure, he could probably call security. But then he wouldn't get to catch Wrath himself. So he doesn't start shouting more or causing a huge scene, just starts darting through the crowd right after him, trying to see if he can't corner Wrath somewhere.]

<sub>[CHASE SCENE, INITIATE]

[To his credit, Wrath is incredibly fast. Even-- or perhaps especially-- in a big crowd that he can dart through small gaps in and become virtually invisible among the sea of tuxedos and sparkly cocktail dresses.]

[But to ENVY'S credit, he's pretty damn fast too.]

[So he'll be able to keep the younger Homunculus in view long enough to see him leave the crowd and make for one of the exits.]</sub>

[Hell no, he's not going to lose Wrath in the rest of the hotel.]

[It involves dodging sideways in between some poor conversing couple (smacking one of them in the face with his ponytail) and vaulting over a chair that somebody forgot to push in, but he makes it to the exit not long after Wrath does.]

[IF HE'D BROUGHT HIS POKEMON, THIS WOULD BE EASIER.]

[But now that they're out of the crowd and in the halls, Envy can use his longer legs to his advantage to start catching up. HE'S COMING FOR YOU, WRATH.]

<sub>[Leaving the crowd hadn't honestly been a very smart decision on Wrath's part, but he's hoping to be able to get back to his room. His room has a LOCK on the door. Can Envy transform his way through a LOCK? Wrath doesn't think so.]

[But there's a few flaws in his strategy. One being that, like on many other occasions, he seems to have forgotten that there's certain things he can't do anymore.]

[Like what he's about to try when he chances a glance over his shoulder and spots Envy still hot on his heels.]

[Wrath grins, turns, and.... literally smacks RIGHT INTO THE WALL. Like directly into it. He doesn't even twist so that he hits it shoulder-first like he's trying to break it down. He literally sprints face-first into the wall with absolutely no hesitation or self-preservation.]

[Envy will probably find the sound of this actual idiot monster child colliding with solid plaster very satisfying.]</sub>

[After all this? Yes that is a very satisfying sound. Even if Envy does nearly trip over himself in surprise that Wrath really, actually just ran facefirst into a wall.]

[It does give him a chance to catch up, though, and he reaches to grab for Wrath's arm, scowling.]

Come on, get up and give me those things back.

[As annoyed as he is, he's not intending or planning to hurt Wrath. He just wants his wallet back.]

<sub>[Wrath's a resilient little guy, even now that he's human, but you can't run into a wall that hard without getting knocked for a bit of a loop. So Envy's able to grab his arm without much trouble-- the kid practically staggers backwards INTO him after the impact.]

[Looking a little dazed, Wrath twists his neck to stare up at Envy. There's a very small trickle of blood coming from his nose, and his expression turns to an angry (if slightly cross-eyed) one.]

[He clutches his stolen goods and growls.]</sub>

Why should I?

We're not on the same team anymore.

[Looking down at Wrath, Envy is struck by how much of himself he sees in the kid right now. Partly because Wrath is bringing up the team thing and that's reminding him of what Greed said, about how once he was the traitor and Envy wasn't. But there's also that bitter anger in Wrath's eyes...he knows that.]

[He narrows his eyes and grits his teeth. He doesn't really have a good comeback about the teams.]

Because if you're going to steal, you shouldn't get caught.

<sub>[That just gets Wrath to narrow his eyes right back, staring defiantly up at his former superior for a moment before making a sudden, vicious yank against Envy's grip.]

[>8( HE'S NOT GIVING IT BACK.]</sub>
