Summary: After all the shenanigans of Hoennween, it's about time everybody had a chance to relax and unwind, courtesy of some actually benign NPCs. With all the luxuries of the Hotel Richissime waiting at their disposal, that shouldn't be too difficult a prospect!

A FEW OTHER SETTING NOTES:

• At the moment, this log spans the entirety of the New Year's Eve plot, so starters may be posted for any time on either day of the event. If things start getting massive and it looks like an overflow log will be necessary, we'll definitely see about putting one up, and will link it to this one if need be.

• The Event Itinerary can be found here! Remember that participating in this course of events is not mandatory, but it's what will be going on in the grand scheme of things over the course of the event.

• All event participants are being housed on the fourth and fifth floors of the hotel. Your bedrooms are laid out like this; if you participated in our IC Rooming Roulette, you can find your buddy on this table here!

• Most activities here will be free! ICly, your characters will use their room cards to "pay" for most things, and the charges will be applied to their room (which of course, they are not paying for personally). Gift shops, parts of the casino, and food not provided as part of the event are not chargeable to your rooms and characters will have to use their own money in those locations.

• Underage characters may use the casino; however, they may be subject to some social scrutiny and side-eyeing in the event that they attempt to get in on one of the high-roller tables.

A NOTE ABOUT USING THREADS ON THIS LOG FOR AC:

Because of how our AC period works (the grace week into January still counting toward December), all threads on this log are valid toward December's AC, regardless of timestamp! However, because the log technically spans two different months and we want to encourage tagging out on it, we have also made this decision:

On this log and this log alone, comment threads timestamped in January (OOCly) that reach AC-length may be used towards January's AC, as well. Therefore, if a thread on this log reaches AC length with 10+ comments timestamped in January, you can use it toward January's AC (assuming the same thread has not already been used to satisfy December's AC).

[In response to the prompt, Red just offers out her hand. She hasn't met Nagi in person, but she can't help but tease people who are so out of place in a dancefloor setting.]

[Nagi's gaze flicks down briefly to Red's hand, and instead of taking it he just dips his head slightly.]

Yes...hello.

[He mumbles, turning away slightly with his arms still hanging at his sides. It's as if he's running through every way he could possibly make this interaction any more awkward without even trying.]

...Is there something you need with me?

[Somehow, she has a feeling asking this kid if he's related to one Royce Bracket wouldn't go over well. So Red just taps him on the shoulder again and gestures out to the dancefloor, hoping that gets the meaning across well enough.]

[He was wondering if that's what it was, but some little part of him was really hoping that wouldn't be the case.]

...I don't dance.

[Well, there's a first time for everything, isn't there? Or at least that's what her small grin seems to hint as she holds up one finger.]

[Nagi's expression takes on a bit of a puzzled look for a moment before he catches on and shakes his head, slightly.]

I...would rather not.

[Get a load of this stick in the mud, though.]

You're at a party but you're not interested in dancing?

[Nagi should be quite used to psychic bullshittery by now, considering his favorite type, but the voice is a new one and he can find the culprit on is other side- a Gardevoir with her head tilted curiously to the side. Red gestures for the Pokemon to come over to her- don't poke into someone's head like that without permission, Help.]

[Nagi tenses visibly at the sudden voice. Once he realizes it's a Pokemon, however, he turns his attention back to Red with a slight frown.]

I'm not particularly interested, no.

[ladywithnovoice]

[There's a brief pause as Red and Help look at one another, a silent discussion apparently going on before the Gardevoir speaks up again.]

If it's alright that I keep talking, can I ask why you came then?

...a friend of mine brought me.

[...which isn't a total lie, but it's more like 'my teammate violently reverse psychology'd me into coming.']

You should have fun if you have to be here!

[Help is very certain of this, after all. Why not have fun if you have to be some place? There are so many people to meet. Red just gives a small shake of her head at her Pokemon's enthusiasm.]

[Aaaaand there's a swat to her Gardevoir as Red sighs and looks to Nagi apologetically.]

[Nagi holds back a sigh of his own, his brows furrowing a bit.]

I don't. I haven't exactly been to many events like this before.

[ladywithnovoice]

[Red finally taps Help's shoulder. Another moment of silence between the two, and then it's a distinctly different voice speaking to Nagi in his head.]

[That causes him to huff a little, his eyes falling closed.]

I was forced into dancing by a pair of unruly Gengar a while ago. They insisted their trainer dance with someone.
