So Make A Wish On Heaven

Who: Participants of the Dream Plot!
Where: In your dreams!
When: Anytime your character is asleep on April 17th!
Summary: As promised, this is a catch-all log where people can post a character's dream as a top-level comment and allow other holders of our Mysterious Feathers™ to come visit them! Remember that the content of your dream is entirely up to your discretion, but we ask that you only have one, and to please also warn for content as needed!
Rating: PG, and please warn for threads that may go higher!
Log:

[Under the light of the full moon, the Mysterious Feathers™ begin to glow.

In the hours that follow after they sprawl out to sleep, those who had the good fortune (or at least the insatiable curiosity) to pick up one of those feathers earlier in the week will come to discover that something very strange is happening across the regions of Johto and Kanto. There's a saying about what happens when you let your mind wander; this time, though, it's a little more than just one's mind that's going wandering, as dream after dream stretches out before you like a horizon just begging to be chased.

Don't worry about getting lost, dreamers; as real and vivid as they may seem, your surroundings are really only visions and illusions, and in the end the failsafe way to escape from them is to simply wake up. If and when you do, you might feel perfectly well-rested or as on-edge as if you'd just jolted awake from a nightmare; like the dreams themselves, there's really no telling how the experience will play out for you, being different and unique to everyone.

But for now, you've got the whole night ahead of you, filled with places to go and people to see. Might as well make the most of it while it lasts...]

Snake is cautious to approach Elsa, but not fearful. He kneels down next to her, glad that Zola is rather good with cold and his feebas didn't seem to mind either. They had only met once, briefly, but it pained him to see anyone like this. It might be a room, but Snake knew the feeling of a cage when he stepped into one.

She seems to him a loving sister, not one that deserves turmoil. For once Snake speaks in a clear but soft voice, strong but not loud, "Being locked in a cage never helps anyone."

Elsa visibly flinches at that. Her family and the servants, and the few people she's already trusted this secret to, they were all rather gentle about it. Nobody's flat-out called her isolation a cage... though Elsa herself had definitely thought of it like that on more than one occasion.

"But it was the best option," she said, voice flat in an attempt to control her emotions. It's working, for now. "So I wouldn't hurt anyone else."

Snake shakes his head, "Cages only make things worse, says Zola." He didn't know just what she was going through, but he knew that locking yourself away, or being locked away, it only hurt, and it looked to him like her pain was making ice form around her.

"It kept me from hurting anyone for thirteen years. The day I stopped hiding... I wound up hurting people. Almost killing them."

Her father had the right idea. The minute she went against his plans, she almost ruined everything....

He is quiet for a moment, considering. "Did you ever allow yourself to practice being around people without hurting them? asks Zola." He knew how it was to so easily hurt people. When he didn't keep track of his snakes, if they got startled or scared or felt threatened, many of them could end a life in an instant.

"Mother and father came to my room often," Elsa's voice grows even softer as she speaks. "They did what they could, but nothing ever worked."

And eventually, Elsa just chased them away out of fear of hurting them too...

Snake frowns and looks down, not sure how else to help her. He knew there had to be a way. Even though Snake found the truth out about Smile and how he had tricked Snake, Snake had to at least say that Smile was good to his servants and always knew how to pick them up at their lowest. For the first time he wished Smile was here.

'What would Smile say?' Snake ponders as he searches for a way to console Elsa. There had to be something. Zola makes a little sound at Snake, giving him a bit of help, "You can find a way, as long as you stop looking down. It isn't that nothing ever worked, you just haven't found what works yet, says Zola." Yes, that sounded like something Smile would say, he thinks.

"Wise words," Elsa says, a small smile finally crossing her face. It doesn't quite reach her eyes, but it's there! That's something.

"But after so much time spent looking down, it's very hard to break the habit of watching where you're going."

Snake doesn't seem to mind. He's not exactly the best at showing emotion himself. His voice carried more of his emotion, or is it the emotion of his pokèmon? "You just admitted it can be done, as long as you work at it, says Zola."

"Yes, I did," Elsa won't deny that. She's a bit less pessimistic than she was months ago. "It's just... difficult. Very much so. Too difficult for some."

"Not for you, says Zola."
