So Make A Wish On Heaven
Who: Participants of the Dream Plot!
Where: In your dreams!
When: Anytime your character is asleep on April 17th!
Summary: As promised, this is a catch-all log where people can post a character's dream as a top-level comment and allow other holders of our Mysterious Feathers™ to come visit them! Remember that the content of your dream is entirely up to your discretion, but we ask that you only have one, and to please also warn for content as needed!
Rating: PG, and please warn for threads that may go higher!
Log:
[Under the light of the full moon, the Mysterious Feathers™ begin to glow.
In the hours that follow after they sprawl out to sleep, those who had the good fortune (or at least the insatiable curiosity) to pick up one of those feathers earlier in the week will come to discover that something very strange is happening across the regions of Johto and Kanto. There's a saying about what happens when you let your mind wander; this time, though, it's a little more than just one's mind that's going wandering, as dream after dream stretches out before you like a horizon just begging to be chased.
Don't worry about getting lost, dreamers; as real and vivid as they may seem, your surroundings are really only visions and illusions, and in the end the failsafe way to escape from them is to simply wake up. If and when you do, you might feel perfectly well-rested or as on-edge as if you'd just jolted awake from a nightmare; like the dreams themselves, there's really no telling how the experience will play out for you, being different and unique to everyone.
But for now, you've got the whole night ahead of you, filled with places to go and people to see. Might as well make the most of it while it lasts...]

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER
Hell, he's committed some atrocities in his time.
But being monsters is better left to the monsters.
The thing tormenting that girl-- that FAMILIAR girl, isn't that the girl who bandaged his hands? The one who might be a Homunculus?-- is a human. How dare he?
Wrath watches in silence for a moment, standing there in bare feet and his bizarre black clothing, his nostrils flaring. And then he just... goes for it. Leaping onto the figure's back and clamping down with teeth and fingers alike, like some sort of really angry possessed backpack intent on bringing its wearer d o w n.
VERY MUCH SO HELLO
But that's proving more difficult than anticipated because who the hell expects a kid to leap at you from behind?
Molly, slowly unfreezing from her own terror, starts taking a few steps back.
no subject
To Wrath's credit, he also knows when to abandon ship-- he has his Homunculus strength back, but there's a limited amount you can get done when someone is yanking at you and you're already grappling for balance.
Springing off of the Boogeyman's back again like some kind of hairy, demented frog, Wrath nearly does a full flip in the air before landing on all fours and lunging like a juggernaut to get between Molly and the bad man, and taking a vengeful, powerful swipe at the taller figure's legs as he passes, aiming to knock them straight out from under him.
no subject
The Boogeyman falls to the ground and he starts bleeding through a hole in his chest. It makes no sense when coupled with Wrath's actions, but it doesn't matter as Molly seems to understand what that means.
Taking another step back, she stares wide-eyed as a cockroach crawls out from under the man's body.
"Come on!"
She's yelling, and her tone is urgent, but she doesn't dare touch Wrath or approach him, not when he's too close to the body. She wants to go. They need to go.
no subject
Blinking owlishly, the Homunculus lifts a hand automatically with the intent of squashing the bug, but Molly's shouting successfully gets him to turn his attention back to her.
"Huh?"
no subject
And Molly doesn't care that Wrath thinks hell survive, because if the Boogeyman takes your brain, you won't have anything to survive with, so when her voice rises to a scream it just goes to show how scared she is that either of them will get hurt.
The corpses of her parents behind her paints a pretty clear picture.
Behind them there's a door beneath the stairs, an open passage, and it swings open and she wants to just go go GO but she needs to make sure Wrath comes with her.
no subject
Why is there so much noise?
Why is she so scared?
The strange man is DEAD!
And so are those bodies behind her, but those were dead before he even got here, so they probably don't matter, right?
"No he won't! Look, he fell down and died!"
Wrath gestures to the bleeding body, tone as reassuring as he can make it (which isn't all that reassuring, but the effort's there!).
no subject
And Wrath isn't LISTENING to her, so she keeps screaming, and in a show of urgent impatience and pure desperation she stomps her foot down as the tears come. He doesn't GET it. He doesn't get that he'll die if he stays there.
Drawing in a deep, shuddering breath, she lets it out in a handful of soundless sobs.
"We have to go NOW!"
no subject
Like a Homunculus?
Is HE a Homunculus?
This situation is too weird.
Wrath shoots a final doubtful look at the body, but he'd really like for Molly to stop screaming and crying. So rather than continue to argue the deadness of the boogeyman, he finally turns to run to her.
"Okay then, let's go!"
no subject
It's a nice space: clearly suited for a child, clearly her own personal hideaway. But as soon as she curls up against the door with her hands pressed against it like that'll help if the Boogeyman decides to break the door in, there's no joy to be found in the familiarity.
She's still crying, but she did stop screaming.
She's whispering.
"He won't find us in here if we keep quiet."
no subject
Molly is sharing her hiding space with a very small monster.
When he replies, it's also in a whisper-- mainly because she's whispering.
"I don't understand. If he comes back, I could just keep killing him. Eventually he'd run out of red stones and stay dead!"
... Right?
no subject
She says it with a tone that's best described as impatient hopelessness. There's nothing you can do about the Boogeyman, especially not here, and the sooner Wrath realizes it the less likely it is that he'll get his brain eaten, and Molly doesn't want him to die.
She doesn't want to die.
She just wishes this had never happened, but here it is, replaying itself in her mind, and she can't even be sure she's dreaming because that's how dreams work. And dreams are real, anyway. Dreams can hurt you bad, until you can't move and you're stuck in a hospital bed, and you don't even know it.
Having thrown that over her shoulder, it takes her a while to slowly back away from the door ... it's only when she hears the footsteps outside that slowly go up the stairs that she does, and she hugs her knees to her chest and shoots Wrath a look, and that's when she sees how different he looks.
Not sure what to make of that, she just stares at him for a moment, and then she hugs herself tighter.
no subject
But she was still crying, and he didn't want to make her start screaming again. So he just meets her eyes and then shuffles in place, planting the soles of his feet together and tucking his hands into the creases of his knees. Then he rocks back and forth a little bit, listening to the clunking footsteps on the stairs.
He doesn't look afraid.
Just curious, and a little frustrated.
"So... what do we do?"
no subject
Still speaking in a very hushed tone, keeps her eyes on him but is clearly listening to the footsteps above. They walk slowly, but not because the man is sneaking: it's just the unhurried walk of someone who knows he'll win sooner or later.
She's tense, and upset, and she doesn't get why Wrath can look at her like that.
"Sometimes he goes away."
no subject
Waiting!
He hates waiting.
He can do it, he's used to it, but that doesn't mean he likes it.
"... We could just chase him away," he offers after a moment. Because she doesn't seem to like the idea of trying to KILL him, so maybe this could be a compromise!
He really just does not seem to grasp the whole 'he can't die and there's no point in fighting him' thing.
no subject
It's a half hiss, impatient from the tension she feels about the topic, and she throws Wrath a sharp, unhappy look.
"Don't you get it? He'll catch you, and then he'll kill you, and he'll eat your brain."
Spoken with the intensity of a child who believes every word.
no subject
But he still doesn't find the concept nearly as scary as Molly does, and he offers a fierce shrug.
"So? It would come back when I do. My brain's been destroyed plenty of times before."
Crushed to mush, burnt to ash, pierced straight through by a traitor's spidery claw...
no subject
"What? ... but ..."
That doesn't make any sense. She can't make it make sense. If somebody destroys your brain it's gone. Right? That's how it has to work?
So she settles with denial, cause she doesn't know how else to respond to that, but in a very tentative tone.
"No it hasn't."
no subject
"Yes, it has! Right before I came to the yellow city, I was stabbed straight through my head. Right between my eyes!"
He indicates the spot with one stubby finger.
"As long as we've got plenty of stones, we never stay dead."
no subject
Did he mean like cells? But cells aren't like stones. Mohinder had called it that sometimes, or he'd called it building blocks which isn't the same thing what kinda, so she'd understand.
Maybe he just didn't know.
no subject
He sounds a little bit frustrated now.
Shouldn't she know?
Maybe she's not a Homunculus after all... or maybe no one ever told her about them.
"We eat them, they give us power. As long as we have them, we can't die! Not until the very last one is used up!"
