Envy was let out of his room at some point, and left the door open after that so he could go in and out. He is still mad that Al left him in there earlier.

So when he hears Al yelling from downstairs, he's way too gleeful when he saunters out of his room and perches on the top railing to look down. Oh. Oh this is perfect.

He doesn't cackle, but he's wearing an awful shit-eating grin as he looks down at his half-brother's predicament.

"Having trouble?"

Oh hell no.

Al twists around as best he can and scowls up at Envy. "No, I wanted to get stuck int he railing. What does it look like?!"

Oh hell yes.

Envy's already gotten much better at walking on these legs, so he's able to start sidling down the stairs almost normally.

"It looks like you could use some help."

He gets to where Al is, and then just...pointedly starts climbing his way over him.

"But hey, good luck getting out of there, Alphonse. I'm sure someone will come by eventually."

"Wha--ow, hey!"

Okay, maybe he earned this, but Al isn't going to just roll over and take it! He flails and tries to grab onto Envy, a leg or his hair or really any bit of him to either trip him up or keep him from getting away. "Get back here!"

One of Envy's furry back feet plants directly onto Al's face. PETTY VENGEANCE IS HIS!

"Ha! You can't stop me--!"

Of course, right as he says that, one of Al's robot non-hands manages to grasp onto the little ponytail bit at the end of Envy's giant mane, yanking him up short so that he trips backwards, landing his butt right on the stairs below.

"Ow! Hey, let go!"

FURIOUSLY TRYING TO ESCAPE WITHOUT PULLING ON HIS HAIR TOO MUCH! He waves his arms backwards behind his head as much as they'll go.

"No!" Al growls with a odd metallic grinding, tugging on Envy's hair to pull him back. "I'm not just gonna let you walk over me like that!"

Envy's swiping claws make him flinch back, which of course just makes him tug on Envy's hair even HARDER. "Watch it!"

Envy lets out an angry yelp and finally manages to find where Al's arm is, scrabbling at it to try and make him let go.

"You left me shut in my room earlier, asshole! Fair's fair!"
