Summary: While most of Johto is digging trenches and fighting giant birds, Akihiko and Flynn meet up and FINALLY reach the first city

[Today was the day Akihiko decided that training would have to take second seat. It was a strange feeling: but he needed to cover ground, and that meant ignoring the various wild pokemon in his path instead of battling EACH ONE regardless of exhaustion.
Speaking of that exhaustion, if he wanted to jog the rest of the way to Cherrygrove, he was going to need to rest. A quick chin-up into a tree to avoid animal attacks would have to do, and very soon the boxer was napping in the warm sun. His pokemon were still loose to keep watch for any passers by]
