Where: Cianwood City - Inn/Restaurant.
When: August 18th, evening.
Summary: After returning from their safari adventure, Layton decides to treat Xanxus to a fancy dinner to make up for the PokéFlute post.
Rating: PG-13, just because Xanxus is there.

[Once Xanxus and Layton had returned to the city, they split up so they could freshen up and change into cleaner, more restaurant-appropriate attire. After all, the restaurant they were going to was very classy. This is the perfect excuse for Xanxus to finally wear this suit and cape, which he had bought back when he was in Goldenrod but never actually had a chance to use. He had the cape custom-made to look exactly like the one he has back home but didn't come to Johto with him; after all, you can't buy anything in stores with the Varia emblem on it.

After taking a quick shower and changing into his ultra fancy outfit, Xanxus heads down to the lobby and makes himself comfortable on the couch. It seems that Layton isn't quite ready yet, so he's just going to relax and fiddle around with his PokéGear while he waits for the other man to come down. Impatiently.]

[ Layton has been feeling actually quite bad for that video feed. He hasn't thought that Xanxus will get that displeased with it, so instant guilt trip. That's why he has offered dinner at Cianwood's finest restaurant, all paid by him, of course. He just kinda hopes that the other man won't eat too much... Everything there is quite pricey and while Xanxus does deserve to eat as much as he likes, Layton kinda hopes his wallet will survive. ]

[ He takes a quick shower and dresses himself into a more fancier outfit than his usual attire. A true gentleman should always dress the part and according one's settings. Also, a true gentleman always keeps a spare hat on him always, which is why his top hat is different than his normal one, but still a top hat nevertheless. After all, what is finer than a hat such as his? Nothing else, of course. ]

[ After checking to make sure he looks proper, he makes his way down to the lobby. It doesn't take him long to find Xanxus sitting on the couch. Ah, he looks well dressed, so that puts a smile to the Professor's face. Making his way over now, he tips his hat apologetically. ]

I do hope that I haven't kept you waiting too long, Mister Xanxus.

[Once Layton arrives, Xanxus closes his PokéGear and puts it away, glancing at the other man for a moment before standing up.]

Let's go.

[Xanxus just wants to eeeeeat. He proceeds toward the exit of the inn at a brisk pace.]

[ Well, he will just take that as a "no, you're not too late" then. So, he doesn't say anything but keeps on his smile and follows along. However, Xanxus... please remember that you're more than a head taller than Layton. He doesn't even reach your shoulders, so maybe you should slow down because Layton is almost jogging to keep up. ]

Have you visited this restaurant before? [ Just trying to make small talk while trying to keep up. ]

[Gosh, fine, Xanxus will slow down a little since Layton moves like a fucking turtle.]

[Yeah, good luck with that. Xanxus isn't always so great at maintaining conversations, as Layton has probably figured out by now.]

[ okay fine, xanxus should chop off a bit of his legs to become shorter than layton then we'll see who's talking, but he does appreciate Xanxus slowing down a bit. ]

[ yup, Layton totally has figured that out, but oh well. ] Well, I have heard nothing but good news about it, so perhaps it will satisfy you. [ since this dinner is mainly for Xanxus after all. ]
