[ Xion and exploring. Ever since arriving in Johto all those months ago, Xion has developed a taste for expanding her horizons. Sure, it wasn't a surprise to find her in a new world altogether - the difference being she didn't come here by choice and not for a mission.

No Corridors of Darkness to zip herself wherever she wanted. Nope, just her own two feet. For months. Being a human was still bit of a jarring aspect in her mind, but she's gradually getting there. Gradually.

Her feet take her wherever they want her to now as she absently wanders the busy and big streets of Goldenrod City. Posters of the upcoming tournament pass her by, and she feels a bit of excitement when she thinks about it, and the weight of the wooden Keyblade slung to her lower back reminds her the date's coming in fast.

But what to do now, she wonders. She couldn't aimlessly wander around here forever, but there were so many things to do in a city like this...

She stops and thinks to herself. ] ... Am I lost?

[ Herp a derp. ]

[ and Jade is as he always is. a small walk around Goldenrod, here nor there--a small stop at the Goldenrod Department Store, some more investigation his surroundings. He pauses at the new things he sees--the fighting tournament poster, in particular, but that's because it's new. He doesn't have an interest in the fighting as it stands by itself. He got a whole lot of that at home.

There are only a few things that make Jade Curtiss pause. Something discovered, a passing thought--and a wandering acquaintance. He notices the wandering girl only by chance, and he takes a moment to assess her before he approaches her. ]

Miss Xion. [ she looked lost, he notes, but he's otherwise pleasantly polite. ] What a surprise.

[ She jumps at the familiar face and whips around to face the source of it. A blink, and recognition comes swiftly to her as she smiles up at Jade (also noticing he's quite tall). ]

Hello, Jade! How are you? [ It would be a surprise to her, too, but she was sorta half-hoping to meet him somehow. ]

The same as always. [ he says this with a mischievous smile. it's true, however, this little statement--as far as notable changes were concerned, Johto offered him none of that. ] And yourself?

[ She blinks. Did his answer mean he was okay...? ] I'm fine. I only just arrived in Goldenrod yesterday for the tournament.

[ a glance to the posters put up around them, before Jade goes on to put his hands in his pockets. not that he needed to look at the posters to confirm what she was talking about--it was just... something to do. ] I didn't think you the type. [ she seemed a bit too... well, perhaps innocent wasn't a word to describe it. ]

Hm? Really? [ She tilts her head at that. ] It... I guess it reminds me of home. Ah, well... [ She seems to want to change that wording, but oh well now. ] I'm not really one to sit back.

Don't feel inclined to explain your entering to me. [ he doesn't want her to misunderstand, anyway--he's not judging her in the least. her home made him a bit curious, of course, but these were whims and he would indulge them... later. ]

Oh, okay. [ Nods. ] So... what are you doing now?

Ah, merely walking. Call it a stroll, if you will. [ aimless things--though perhaps not so aimless, considering xion came up. ] Were you headed to anywhere in particular?

Ehe... Not really. I wanted to get to know the city better before I started some training.

That might take a while. You'll find Goldenrod a bit more... extensive than other locations in Johto. [ there is a lot to know. even by Auldrant standards, this city was a little... well, big.

he observes her for a moment before he reaches into his pocket, taking out the small bag with the slot earnings from before. all for kept promises, this one is. (not really). ] Would a bit of company bother you?

[ She blinks in surprise at the bag. He seemed rather insistent on giving it to her. She smiles, though, at his last offer. ]

I don't mind at all. I was actually hoping I could meet the people I've talked to who I know are in Goldenrod. [ She stares at the bag again. ]

I'll keep half? [ He did help her in finding and understanding something new, after all. ]

Perhaps this was a bit of a fated meeting, then. [ he doesn't think this, of course, but the thought is a little amusing. then again, some similarities he notices in her and stuff back home is a little bit of a... funny coincidence. ]

If you insist.

[ She laughs a bit. ] Maybe it is. [ Coincidence, coincidence. If only he could elaborate on what those coincidences actually are...

She takes the bag and grabs only a handful (and her hands are small, too) of the coins inside. Staring at the amount, she deems it enough for herself and hands it back to him. ] Thank you, Jade.

Do you want to lead?

[ oh, xion. he takes the bag back with a nod, making no comment about her small handful. being pushy wasn't really a trait of his. ] No need. You were the one to react to the reels, Miss Xion. Now... [ he makes a gesture towards a random street, though he makes no move to actually go in that direction. it's more of a gesture, really.

he doesn't mind her leading. ]

[ She recognizes the gesture, blinks to it, and simply translates his answer as a "no, you lead." Nodding to his non-verbal response, she she starts to walk down the path again.

She walks with him, and it's only several steps of companionable silence before she begins to think they should, at least, talk. But what? Then she remembers... ]

Did you have any questions for me?

[ and here is jade, trailing behind a small girl with both hands in his pockets. he's quite good at the following thing.

he is also quite good at the implying things thing, which is what he will be doing once he figures out a good way to phrase this question without outright implying things. it doesn't take so long, fortunately, since he's good at finding ways to dig into topics without... well, a drill.

he uses a spoon. ]

Indeed. I admit I'm rather curious about the world you come from.

The... world? [ And she has to quickly stop herself from saying the plural. It wasn't a strange question in of itself; the fact that she could traverse several worlds in her, well... World or Universe? That would be the strange part. At least to answer. It takes her a moment to think of a response to that. ]

What are you curious about it?

[ It really wasn't an attempt to throw the subject right back at him, but if he asked something specific, maybe... ]

[ what sort of technology was developing in science, but he doesn't think she'd be well-versed in the specifics. and that's a bit too blunt, even for him. ]

Your experiences in particular. [ or maybe lack there of was a more accurate statement, given recent happenings. ] Of course, don't feel inclined to satiate my curiosity.

[ ... so, what did he really want? Then again, he pretty much readily answered her own questions on the times they were talking so... again, it'd only be fair. ]

My experiences... Well, I was mostly working. I would do missions, and try to fulfill my quota for the day.

[ he'll ease into things for now. as far as this was concerned, he wasn't in a rush to know. at least this way he could get a better view into her situation. ]

Quota?

[ She nods. ] There would be monsters lurking around that would eat people's hearts -- Heartless, we called them. I had to release a certain amount of the hearts they ate whenever I went out on those missions.

... Interesting. [ "heartless"--that would explain her reminders of home, when it came to fighting. ] I assume you worked for someone in particular, then. [ "had" makes him pause a tad, but that might've just been a choice word for no reason. he doesn't linger on it too long. ]

[ At that, she slows, but doesn't stop walking. Her head bows slightly, shoulders hunching a bit before she nods. It's not the proudest part of her, well... short time of life. ]

Yes. Organization XIII. I was... [ Never was- ] The XIVth.

[ well. that sort of reaction never bodes well for anything--though that in itself is hardly verification of his hunches. bad feelings. whatever it was. were it any other moment he'd make a snide comment about things--no. he's gotten... slightly better at appropriate timing.
