"... I wanted to give you this." He produced a minimized Pokeball, taking her hand and placing it in her palm before closing her fingers around it gently.
"It'll add a bit of variety to your team. I meant to give him to you sooner, but, um..."
Completing the statement with 'stuff came up' just didn't seem to cut it. And, yeah... Maybe Aerith would have been better off with those two jokers from before. Zack was obviously inadequate... and not worth waiting for. But he wouldn't let her set out alone, at the very least.
"... A fire Pokemon will wipe out your team." He sounded numb. "This Poliwag should help. ... You don't have to use him if you don't want to, but... we had a man-to-man talk. He's set on going with you."
