[ Karkat is kind of waiting impatiently outside of Eridan's door. he's fumbling around with the box in his hand, anxious and nervous. well not too nervous. it's been a while since they've had a date and this time it's Karkat that's planning it. after all, it is a thing that couples apparently do on this holiday related to romance. since trolls have a different version of how romance works, Karkat equates this really to dealing more with the red and pale side of things instead of black and ashen. that's why he kind of wants to go out. and, yeah. okay. he is a total romantic type, okay? if it's a thing that people do, then Karkat wants to be someone that does it.
but he wants to do it right. hence the fumbling with the gift and fretting over if he's going to do a good job here. ]
