'Excited' didn't even begin to cover it.

After such a long (... from Crow's point of view, anyway) time, they were finally going to meet again. Over the past few years, there hadn't been a single day he wouldn't think about Neo Domino City, the threat that rose above it (literally), as well as his friends and how he missed them. Of course, he didn't let that show too much in his daily life, but it was still there. And now, long after he stopped expecting any familiar face to show up, Johto decided it was the right time for Yuusei to appear.

Yuusei! There honestly wasn't a single person in any world Crow would be happier to see than him. One of his best friends, a teammate, fellow duelist and much more. It shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone that the moment he'd finished talking to the other Signer on the 'Gear, he practically fired from the hotel room, living up to his name of the Bullet and barely giving Kaito a chance to ask him to tag along. They had hardly made any breaks on their way, something Crow might feel a little guilty about later on, but at the time he was only focused on the fact he was finally going to see Yuusei again. And Kaito would surely understand that.

After over twenty hours of almost non-stop flight, they decided to cover the remaining distance on foot, both to let the birds get some rest at last and to make sure they wouldn't miss Yuusei. Still, Crow was keeping up brisk pace, refusing to wait any longer to reunite with his friend. After all, he might have been known in all of Johto for many things... but patience certainly wasn't one of them.

The excitement definitely hadn't gone unnoticed.

It almost made Kaito chuckle. There were very few things other than Duel Monsters and birds that Kaito saw his pal get this worked up over. But hey... friends from home, especially in Johto, were important. Particularly friends you hadn't seen in quite some time. So the excitement and the quick pace to Violet was something Kaito could easily forgive.

"Geez..." the magician grumbled as they took the last few steps of their journey by foot, his gaze flickering at their surroundings, "This place never changes, does it?"

And though they were the best of friends, they certainly had their differences... like the amount of patience between the two. Yuusei had certainly been patient, finding ways to occupy his time until Crow's arrival with things such as looking over the less painfully vague version of the guide he'd gotten, as well as catching himself a Pidgey. After all, if flying was the primary method of travel, then it was in his best interests to get a Flying-type Pokemon from the very beginning.

Even if it was Crow, Yuusei would never want to keep living off of him for long, and anything that he'd end up feeling like he owed Crow, he'd repay as soon as possible. Crow could protest all he wanted about it, too. It wouldn't change anything.

But as it was, Yuusei hadn't slept (as usual) and he was waiting, leaning against a tree just on the border of New Bark Town and Route 29, where a step onto the route would make the strange music in the background change to something different. It'd been something he kept finding himself doing to keep himself from getting distracted by it, and he was certain that wherever he ended up with Crow, he'd continue to do it until he just got used to it.

After a while, a rustling of grass caught his attention - it was too heavy sounding for it to be any of the Pokemon he'd seen so far around the area - as well as a voice, and he looked up. In a sea of green, Yuusei spotted a splotch of orange, and he couldn't keep himself from smiling a little. No, it hadn't nearly been as long since the last time he'd seen his best friend as it had been for Crow, but all things considered (including the news of Crow and Aki's progress made back home in terms of shutting down the Ark Cradle), he was pretty pleased to see Crow all in one piece.

And he wasn't all that surprised to see that someone had come along. He stepped into the route, taking a brief note of the music change, and started taking long strides towards the two figures. Once Yuusei got a closer look... ah, Kaito, wasn't it? At least there was someone to keep Crow company. Either way, the smile didn't fade, even as the Klink at his side hovered a little too close and bumped into him, making him stumble a little.

"I was starting to think you wouldn't make it, Crow."
