If there were ever a night when I could have missed you
Who: Deymx, Valeria
when_turks_fly
When: January 12th
Where: New Bark Town
Summary: Valeria, newly returned to Johto and without any memories of her previously journeys in the world of pokémon gets a crash course in just what happens when your best friend from your last trip to an interdimensional nexus remembers what you don't, while Demyx gets a hard lesson in starting over.
Rating: PG-13
The trip from Goldenrod to New Bark had been one of, if not the most, unpleasant trips in the entire span of Demyx's existence in Johto. The cold air and harsh chill of the winter made the journey all the more difficult and biting than the circumstances that bid him back to the small town initially were. Even though he had his partners to keep him warm and make the journey much faster than it would have been on foot, it nonetheless remained a long and dragging span of time that filled him with a deep sense of woe and left a bitter taste in his mouth. The blond had heard and seen stories of people coming back out of the blue with no idea they had been to this strange world before; it was no secret to him that sometimes a person you knew one week could be a completely different person the next time they arrived. However, it was different in person. Very different. Very, very different.
It was painful, for starters. Nauseatingly painful to hear someone say they had no idea who he was, no idea about the weeks they had spent together, no idea how much they meant to him. As he crossed the threshold of the city limits cold power and frozen grass crunched under his footfalls, echoed by the softer steps of his companions following behind him. There was little chance he could have come to this town without them, without the two beings who had kept him safe and more or less happy while the people he had called his friends vanished from this world.
Demyx knew that nothing in the world could prepare him for what was about to happen, how to cope with the loss of his friend compounded by the presence of another 'her' in this very town waiting to meet up with him.
A quick motion brought the 'gear out from his pocket for him to tap away at the keys. A short message sent over to the Turk in waiting somewhere in this small urban town.
'Just got here. See you at the docks.'
With that, a dirty-blond male in thick blue winter-wear followed by a Zoroark and a Gallade made way toward the ferry dock. The thick winter chill hanging in the air and the sharp crunch of the ground below them announced them coming a mile away, and the blond perfectly realized that to a highly trained woman such as the one he was going to meet this was perhaps the best way to open the meeting up.
I want you to know that I'm coming. You get the upper hand.
