She wasn't sure what she'd expected, but it certainly hadn't been this new positioning, in which she had absolutely no time to adjust herself before Johan had roped her into a hug. Kay didn't mind it at all, despite the first rush of surprise, and grinned affectionately, returning the embrace as best as she could in this position. It wasn't easy, but she managed. She'd never seen hugging anybody as a chore, least of all Johan, who actually hugged back within a second's notice.
"It's okay," she told him, her voice a cheery singsong. "Nothing burned down, no Centers were destroyed, there weren't any jealous vengeful ex-whatevers, or bad guys showing up, and we didn't get food poisoning! All in all, I think we've done pretty well on this thing!"
