Presents and pokemon
Who: Spike (
rather_eat_turquoise) and Rarity (
artofthestress)
Where: Goldenrod
When: August 22
Summary: Spike gives Rarity a well-thought out present, and then it’s mon shopping time!
Rating: PG
Spike hummed to himself as he tweaked the large purple ribbon he had tied around a pokeball, straightening it up and making sure the edges were curved at the right angle – the perfect bow.
Thankfully he didn’t have to worry about his other pokemon ruining it – they were all asleep, in their own balls or the PC. He still worried about his pokemon being put in a ‘computer’- that just didn’t seem right to him, so he tried to rotate them as often as possible.
“There, all done! You’ll be good for Rarity, won’t you?” he said to the ball. It wobbled a little, and Spike took that as consent, patting it. He wasn’t too worried about this particular pokemon causing any problems – in fact, from what he’d read up about it, it would be an ideal pokemon for Rarity, one of the reasons he was giving it to her. He’d caught it during his second Bug Catching competition, and it was a cute little thing.
“I’m sure she’s just going to love you!”
Exiting his room at the inn, he went searching for Rarity.

When Spike entered her room, she looked up and gave him a smile. He had been incredibly helpful while in Goldenrod, and she was immensely grateful for it. Enough that she was already planning how she would repay him.
"Good afternoon, Spike. Whatever are you up to?"

"Actually, I was looking for you Rarity."
He had the one hand carrying the pokeball carefully concealed behind his back so she couldn't see that he was holding something. Spike decided to hold off giving her the present right away, wanting to complement her work on Hans first.
"Hans is looking really good! That cape really brings out his...uh...fins?"
Spike always felt a little awkward talking fashion. Fish fashion was even worse. But Hans seemed to be enjoying it.
"Hans looks a lot happier now. I think he likes you a lot Rarity. You've really been trying hard with him to make him look his best, and now he's the grandest looking fish around!"

"Oh, that's his way of saying thank you! The praise is good for him to hear from people who aren't me. I absolutely pamper the little fellow, I think he doesn't believe me sometimes."
She decided the dress looked good on him, and let him back into his tank. The dress was immediately soaked, but trailed after Hans in a manner that accentuated his slow movements.
"I must admit, I would never have considered being a fish person before. Opalescence would absolutely murder him!"
She wiped her hands off on her dress and turned to Spike. He looked like he was waiting for something. "Did you come in here to talk about anything in particular, Spike?"

“Oh I’m sure that Fluttershy would have a talk to Opalescence before you had to worry about that,” he said, waving his free hand.
As she turned to look at him, he blushed harder and looked at the floor, scuffing the ground nervously with one foot.
“Um...well...I...er... I’vegotapresentforyou.”
Spike removed his hand from behind his back as he rushed out the words, holding the ribbon-accentuated pokeball out to her, his cheeks bright red.
“I hope you like it...”
[OOC: This is the pokemon, for your reference! Also, it’s whatever gender you want it to be ^^. It's around the level 20 mark :3]
