The fuck was that?!

[Blake's head whips around as the thread of conversation leaps from one Dave to another.]

Kid, you lost me at time travel.

[One of the ones that looks like a pale, spidery man with black pits for eyes throws itself at Blake, howling child of Satan. Blake drives his fist into its stomach.]

Shit, all that matters is, which one is the real you?!

[No time to wait for an answer. Blake smacks the nearest Dave on the shoulder.]

So talk fast.

[But she's still going to keep following her, albeit warily.]

A flash eye. This suit has more weapons than it seems.

[He turns around once he's done with his opponents, tapping the wrench symbol on his chest.]

There are these people called espers. Some of them transmit thoughts, some can know the intentions of everyone around them -- it's all different. What I do is jump. To another me, another time, another reality. Whatever you want to call it. What makes up me goes into that body and sends the other consciousness back to where I was.

Can't exactly control it, don't know why it's me, and it's not a perfect transfer. Is that enough for you?

Shadow Needles!

[When she finds him again, he's using more magic of his own. There's a strange blackish-purple, shadowy spot moving away from Faize and across the battlefield. And once it gets close enough to one of the minions, it shoots out a number of needle-like projectiles, skewering the monster.]

What? Oh. [Faize smiles. He seems to be in a much better mood now that he was the last time he met Rose. In fact, this is honestly the happiest he's been since he got here, period.] You're welcome. I hope it served you well.

Y-You sound like you've dealt with things like this before...

[He doesn't want to think about it too much but from the looks of things she had a better grasp on the situation than he did]

[And she leaps into the air, twining the scroll tightly around her. It's a little less spectacular than the last attack on her end, only using the one scroll, but she's hoping Dash's attack will make up the difference.]

(Faster and faster Dash goes, until...a VERY LOUD sonic boom is heard at the same time she shoots forward with a rainbow fiery trail behind her to hit the being; it wasn't as powerful as her first, which was pretty surprising to Dash, but it still had some punch to it.

Uh...maybe? I can make objects fly but I've never tried it on a human and somehow I think now would probably not be the best time to start experimenting with that.

But don't worry! I can totally stay still. Not moving. No problem-o.

Aradia casually tosses away an oncoming minion with a flick of telekinesis, apparently perfectly happy to have a friendly chat in the middle of all the chaos. ]

Yes, exactly like that! Wind and Earth as well. Admittedly, I usually set up my robots to perform them for me though. This is somewhat of an unusual feeling for me to perform them directly.

[He's also conveniently leaving out the fact he's only decent with most of the elements. Jade was the magically gifted one, after all.

He watches Aradia perform her telekinetic attack and smiles, clearly impressed. Dist is impressed, call the press!]

And what are you manipulating to pull that off, anyway?

[John is really good at giving people heart attacks and also being a strange magnet for pointy things.]

Hahaha, okay I will! This is just so liberating though, you have no idea. [He takes a deep breath, laughing. Somebody is enjoying all this far too much.] Or I guess you do since you have all your weapons back too...and can stick to walls.

Good. Then let's just hope the others can take advantage of me holding it in place.

... And that none of the flying ones decide to attack us.

[He knew he could count on you, Dave. Laughing, John offers a fist back towards Dave. Come on, dude. Give him the bump. This is going to be the best team up ever. Or possibly the worst. Maybe both.]

...shit. I did not even think of that. Don't worry though, if it comes to that, I have a few tricks up my sleeves! But hopefully I won't have to use them.

[Because he has far less control over the windy thing without his hands to direct the flow. At least from what mun can tell because LOL exposition on how John's powers work, what is that? Can we eat it? Somehow he gets the feeling that conjuring a directionless tornado might just make a bigger mess of things. Though maybe...maybe he can get a little creative here. There's a trick he's always wanted to try but never really had the chance to.]

By the way, who's your buddy down there with the sword?

Sweet. I wish I could say the same for me but-- [He cuts off, pushing both his hands out in front of him and blasting two monsters back with a gust of wind.] hehehe, but I am new to the magic scene.

[That and uh...ONE decade ago, he was six.]

Oh, that's Berserker. He's a warrior from the past I summoned to serve and protect me during a magi war back home. Of course, "Berserker" is just his class name. His real name is Hercules.

[Hey, don't knock the pajamas. He's missed the hell out of these things. Only in dreams can they be reunited.]

Like...the actual Greek hero? That Hercules?

[Well maybe Rose can sew him a replacement pair.]

[As soon as she does, Blake feels the jolt of his glow jumping over.]

Yeah, doesn't do much for me except make a light show, but for somebody else...

[Something feels weird. He lets go.]

[Breathing hard, he didn't realize how much energy he'd used up already.]

[He shrugs, blowing it off as a nibble rather than anything severe. Deep down, he's fully aware that it could've been a lot worse. It's dangerous here, but stressing over what could happen won't get them anywhere in this fight. Still, his shirt's been slightly shredded from the monsters' teeth, along with some open skin. Thankfully, the Cure spell helps to close the wounds.]

I figure it's nothing worse than what Quake or Terror could do to me. Besides, what's a few scrapes compared to that thing?

[He points his thumb over his shoulder and at the boss monster itself.]

[As the shadows attack him, Shaun doesn't move, and after they first extend neither do the sharp violet points of light. It doesn't kill any, but more than a couple are smoking profusely and hissing in outrage as they slink back into the shadows, their small prey not as easy a target as they had originally thought.

He can't help but grin at their retreat, but his smile turns reassuring at the older girl who takes his hand. There's little that's intimidating about a small 11-year-old boy smiling at you, particularly when the poison-purple glow subsides to a small, pale blue halo.]

No problem! Hold on.

[When he runs, it's a little faster than a boy should be able to, but as long as she holds onto him, it's slow enough for her to keep up. His hand is cool, and seems to resolutely refuse to warm even at human contact.]

I'm Shaun. What's your name?

[Cecil nods approvingly at that little spell, adding another of his Searchlights to the mix.]
