[If you were lucky enough to catch Bertholt when he first arrived, he actually looked decent. Unfortunately the neat and tidy look he sported disappeared within ten minutes of setting foot inside of the ballroom thanks to him fidgeting with everything. At the very least Alfred managed to make him look presentable, right?
...Though that wasn't stopping him from turning into a wallflower. Sure he had a crash course in dancing shortly after the invitations went out, but good luck getting him out there. The Ninetales at his side gave up trying ages ago, leaving his poor trainer to stand there and sweat.

[At one point or another he even manages to slip outside to scope out the rest of the party. On the plus side, he's stopped fidgeting with his clothes! On the downside... Well, there actually isn't a downside, because he actually looks pretty cheerful despite the Swablu perched on his head. He's even spoiling it with a small handful of berries here and there!]

[Fossils, fossils, fossils! Guess who may have just found his new favorite 'type'? He knew about Archen and a select few prior to finding the library here (thanks to magazines and the occasional book he'd snag), but sweet freckled jesus, nothing could've prepared him for this.
