Things could pretty much always be worse. I've never really found that to be a comforting thought. Or a productive one. I mean I suppose it's better than sitting around complaining, but better still to try to actually do something.

... Which admittedly can be easier said than done, sometimes, but that's no reason not to put in the effort.
