I know that someday it'll all work out
Who:
magictricking and anyone near Route 31
Where: Route 31, just by the Violet entrance
When: Friday, late afternoon/early evening
Summary: Trucy is practising for the magic show she'll eventually be holding (tentative date being 17th?)
Rating: G, I'd think. Unless something changes.
Log:
Trucy had backtracked a little, staying close enough to Violet that she could return within a day, but far enough that she could still train her Pokémon between practising magic tricks. Caterpie had evolved earlier today and she was now a little stuck on how to use it in her routine. Well, she still had time to think of that, because Squirms (that probably wasn't an appropriate nickname now, huh?) was currently relaxing on a tree while Trucy threw berries at Mr. Hat Junior to see how many he could juggle. He was currently up to six, and Fluffy had just started crawling up the tree to play with Squirms.
"No, Fluffy! You need to get ready for the disappearing act!" If she could make rabbits disappear, she could certainly make the Spinarak disappear. But, this show would be a lot cooler with her Pigeon shooting gun and throwing knives, but they had disappeared out of her magic panties when she arrived here. That was more than a little frustrating. Well, for now, she could practice what she termed "The Pudding Trick." Unfortunately, eating that pudding wasn't in the description.
"Ready, Siren?" The Zubat flapped its wings impatiently and she held the tub of pudding out in her hand.
"Nothing strange about this pudding. Nothing in my hands. Nothing in my cape!" And with each sentence, she demonstrated exactly that. "But watch. Now, Supersonic!" There was a screech that all her Pokémon covered their ears against, and the attack hit the pudding, causing it to... disappear?
"Hm... Where's it gone?" All credit to Trucy, she certainly knew how to play up her acts, pouting and looking around, trying to pull it out of her magic panties. That wasn't successful.
"Totodile!" Now, look who's up to seven items, smug as anything and opening his jaws to eat those berries.
"H-hey! Those are our last berries!" Oh, well, shoot. Now she'll have to go searching again.

When he wasn't watching over Kay and Johan, naturally Kaito was out traversing the city and the routes that surrounded it. After an entire month in Violet City, he knew the place as well as he knew the back of his hand. It made exploring a little boring, considering he had already discovered every nook and cranny there was to discover in this place, but it definitely kept him busy.
Especially when he ran into interesting people on the routes.
He had spoken to Trucy before, but despite being located in the same city, he had yet to meet her. So when he saw her from a distance with all of her Pokemon out, practicing what looked like the beginnings of a magic show, the curious cat in him definitely couldn't pass up the chance to investigate (especially not if there was magic involved).
He had managed to remain unseen for a while as he watched her from atop a tree branch (and she was pretty good, he would give her that), but it was only after she made the pudding disappear with a Zubat's Supersonic that he actually revealed himself to her (though he didn't slide out of the tree, opting to stay there with his legs dangling over the edge as he spoke. She was close enough for him to hear, anyway).
"And it's not a bad trick, either!"

"Why thank you," she replied, tipping her hat with a grin. "It's best to start small, that's what daddy told me." Totodile had wandered over to her side to hand her the pudding, on which she promptly pulled the lid off and sat down on the grass with. "Take a break, guys!" They all seemed more than happy to do that, as she tried to find something for the others to eat, now that Mr. Hat Junior had eaten everything.

He wasn't too worried about having competition, particularly since he planned on moving on from Violet sometime soon. People may have loved his magic shows, but he'd been performing on and off in Violet for a little over a month now. Street performers needed to constantly move on to enthrall new audiences; the one in Violet was probably getting tired of seeing him.
And if Trucy decided to perform like he did, the least he could do is give her some tips. Magician to magician. "If you do, there's a fountain in the middle of town that people pass by all the time. Use that as your stage! It's usually always crowded."

"Think so. Most people turn up there, right?" She taps her finger against her lower lip lightly, considering that. She had seen a few people who barely wanted to go anywhere. No sense of adventure at all! What a ridiculous thing. Trucy stood up as she finished off the pudding and smiled. She was a rather sprightly person- but it comes with being a magician, doesn't it?
"Totodile!" Mr. Hat Junior likes the idea of performing at a fountain. Trucy was already thinking of ways to incorporate the water into her act. It could be thrilling like that.
"Thanks for the tip!" She smiled, bouncing on the balls of her feet. "How've you been?"

He held the small flower out for her as he continued to speak, one hand still buried in his pocket. "I've been all right," he answered, "Especially now that we've found Kay." The week he had spent looking for her had been hard, not only on him, but his friends as well. He was more than grateful that Kay was finally back safe and sound, where she belonged, and that things could slowly return to normal.
-- he had to make sure to perform one last show in Violet before his traveling group moved on to Azalea.

She could agree on that. Ace Assistants have to
get in troublestick together, and Kay was definitely on the right track for that. "I'm gonna kick that guy so hard if I see him..." Glare. That was almost as mean as stealing her panties. They should totally perform together.no subject
"When do you plan on performing, anyway?" He asked, genuinely curious. If he was still in Violet then, he definitely wanted to show up.
They so should it would be awesome.no subject
"Were you thinking of coming?" She grinned, and tipped her hat as she spoke. Who wouldn't want to see a show as awesome as hers?
So yeah making this happen needs to happen.no subject
In other words, oh yeah. He definitely planned on coming.
((JOINT MAGIC SHOW?!))

Trucy smiled at his question. That was a good idea. Maybe she could charge people to watch the broadcast too... but how would she do that? The PokéGear wasn't like Pay Per View.
"Of course! What better way to get exposure?" Yeah, she totally hadn't thought of it before, but no-one needs to know that.

After bouncing on her toes for a moment, Trucy calms down and goes quiet for a second. She looks thoughtful.
"Hey. We're both magicians... maybe we should do a show together."
Sob I am so late please don't hurt me
Trucy looked like she was...having fun, at least, and Phoenix didn't want to disturb her -- but Mr. Hat Junior wa putting on a good show, and he couldn't help but stop to watch right as she and Siren orchestrated their disappearing act.
...and, well, he just couldn't help but chuckle a bit, affectionately, and trot on over to where Trucy was pouting in her Totodile's general direction. "Good job, Trucy."
no subject
-- but Trucy was pretty talented. He felt like she'd be able to keep up with him, and he had to admit, a show done together sounded pretty fun.
"Sure, why not?" he replied, "Sounds like it could be fun!"
Sob don't worry so are my tags
"Thanks, Daddy! Everyone's done their best!" And that cues happy cries from all of her Pokémon, but especially Fluffy, who had taken a liking to Phoenix. Quite possibly because Phoenix didn't like spiders and Fluffy liked causing trouble. Trucy only just managed to pick him up before he went after Phoenix.
"How's it going?" She smiled and placed Fluffy on her shoulder, he tended to like perching there.

"It's a pleasure to be working with you!" She grinned, and her Totodile gave a thumbs up, sharing the sentiment as Trucy held out a hand to shake.
no subject
"Likewise, Miss Wright!"
no subject
"You know, I don't think I've seen your tricks before," she says thoughtfully as the handshake ends.
no subject
"I have a few more I can do, if you're interested!" And without waiting for an answer, he summoned a deck of cards from thin air and began to shuffle them between his fingers.
no subject
"Of course I am!" She watched all sort of magicians. From her parents and Uncle Valant, to Max Galactica, to the ones that were just beginning. And that's what was important for a magician. To study other tricks and understand how those illusions work (and to never, never steal a magician's signature trick.)
