Actually, I think it's the keychain that's the haunted part. If you look closely, it seems as though they've got a sort of face there.

I'm suspecting that if we ever get a Pokedex entry for these things it'll talk about how they steal your keys along with your soul, because that's just how Ghost Pokemon are.
