[There wasn't much at hand in terms of expenses in order to give Rei an extravagant birthday, which Nagisa would have more than preferred for his dear friend, but he along with Rin and Momo had worked with what they had to put up something just as suitable. There was a single table set up with a few decorations scattered around it, and a dozen or so cupcakes spread out. Even away from home, as swimmers, it was important for them to keep an eye on their diet (dictated mainly by Rin). There was also a bottle of fruit juice and another of water for refreshments, and some cups and napkins.
Everything was just about set. All that was really needed was the birthday boy himself, and speaking of...]
This way, Rei-chan! We're almost there! You'd better not peek, okay?
[Nagisa had finished directing a blindfolded Rei through the city toward the destination of his surprise party, and it was hard for him to hide the excitement in his voice. This was going to be such a great day!]

[As much as he wants to, its nearly impossible. Outside of being blindfolded, he's also got his glasses off, which assures that his sight is already compromised. It's almost a worrying experience, entrusting Nagisa to lead him anywhere, but he can't say he doesn't trust him. That, and the excitement has already gripped him with ease, and it leads his legs forward. He can't quite fight the anxious smile from his face, either.]
How close is 'almost'? You've said that a few times now, Nagisa-kun.
