You know what's better than a regular birthday? The birthday of a circus.




Throughout the streets of Goldenrod, folks will find all sorts of colorful characters and Pokemon about. Fliers and the like have been regular eve since the Circus started up a year ago, but the advertising is in full force today just to make it EXTRA apparent that today is the day. Another hint is all the air traffic in the skies- various Flying-type Pokemon that make up the Circus' transportation service. Who knows? Maybe you're one of those using it today!

And of course, who can miss the colorful spectacle that is the circus itself? Past the entrance gate (which will let you onto the circus grounds for a miniscule fee) are dozens and dozens of stalls and little tents. Looming over them is the main tent itself, a monstrosity of bright welcoming colors. There are all sorts of things amongst their ranks, but it's generally fairly easy to find what you're looking for as Pidgey of a feather flock together and all that... From games of all sorts like the usual carnival games to more of a retro arcade, to a set of shops with local crafts and maybe something from the foreign trainers.... Of course, there's also all sorts of food stalls and even shacks for more filling stuff.

There's even a Litleo hunt going on today! Catch one, win a prize!

With all that alone, you could probably keep busy for most of the day! But surely you aren't forgetting the Big Act?

Yep, the big acts in the Big Top. Times are posted both at the front gate, on fliers you can pick up here and there, and by the entrance to the large tent. For each day, there will be three shows! Better hope you can snag a ticket before they get sold out... Although maybe you'll get lucky for the next show. Or the next day....

Either way, it promises to be a fun weekend!

[At least, she looks like she doesn't mind poking around books to find a specific one anyway.]

[He laughs a little at that, nodding while propping his chin up in one hand.]

That's true. Who knows, maybe the author herself might even show up one day...I'm sure a place like this would give her a lot of inspiration.

[All right, Maka, don't make this awkward by being overly modest. Never mind the blushing and the awkwardness already presented, this can still be salvaged!]

Uhhh--do-do you want me to win one for you? I mean, while I'm here anyway.

That joke was funny once, get it over with.

[Meanwhile, the corndog is "accidentally" taken from her hand by the Houndoom coming up to her side. What the hell did I walk into? says the Pokemon's expression, who's this prick?

Nonetheless, Maka will wait patiently, arms crossed, watching Yusuke.]

The Strongman nodded, growing visibly more frantic.

"I let Nelly out to see the sights and after she got ahold of a funnel cake, she went berserk!"

[The poor game runner. Clover's face absolutely lights up.]

You'd do that?! That'd be amazing! [Any and all awkwardness is completely ignored in favor of Maka officially being the absolute coolest; Clover has decided.]

I still think cake is better.

We're not having that debate.

Good.

Because I'd win.

And so would cake.

[Ilya's voice goes sing-song.]

You're starting to annoy me, Kairi...

[She giggles.]

I'll get you some ice cream then. That should cool you off.

[Steve puts out a hand to shake properly.]

Nah, just came over because Steve saw a flyer and wanted to come. If I'd said no she would've chewed up my shoes.

[The Snubbull's ears twitch and she bull!s indignantly. She would never do such a thing! Your shoes taste terrible.

A trace of concern appears on Blake's face.]

Are you friends with a clown?

Gosh...I don't know what I'd do if a favorite author of mine showed up here...I'd probably explode or something.

[Or something, Kali just gives her A Look. Unlike her Meowstic back in Olivine, the Houndoom does not share Maka's passion for literature.]

If she writes horror...yeah, she'd probably get a lot of inspiration from these Pokemon. A lot of scary things happen with them just by their nature.

[There was an Incident before she arrived that she never got the details on, something about Shedinja stealing souls, and that's just one thing. People say her world is messed up, Maka generally thinks this world is a little more so with its candy-coated peacefulness covering up the horror.]

"I swear those things can't be trusted without some sort of collar and leash apparatus. Which just sticks to them and is rendered useless in moments..."

Lust was on her feet quickly. Having her own Swirlex, she's well aware of the chaos they can cause, simply by moving among people.

"Where did you see her last?"

You have a completely one-track mind right now, don't you? Has no one given you anything sugary in days or something?

It's been two days. I'm going to collapse.

[dressofheaven]

Oh, you poor thing. Don't worry, the line's only...

[She checks again.]

Ten more people long.

[She slumps against Ilya's side.]

I'm not gonna make it.

[dressofheaven]

Oh well, I'll give your Pokemon to Namine and Xion then.

[paopuprincess]

[Huff.] You wouldn't even take care of them yourself? I thought you liked me more than that.

[Asami is minding her own business, buying her Combusken a cotton candy when the bell rings out over the grounds, vibrating her feet. She turns around in time to see Maka claiming her prize.]

Still terrorizing carnies?

[She speaks with a bit of a laugh.]

Scar had told Lust that he would visit the damn circus, but he wasn't about to watch her get thrown around by that walking twig she called a brother. It was a disaster waiting to happen. He had remained backstage waiting for her to finish, and now he was settling across from her while she was on break. Miriam bounced onto the table, followed quietly by a much clumsier Yaminah.

"It went well?"

Even though she couldn't convince him to actually see her act, the fact that he'd come to support her meant a great deal.

"It went wonderfully. God, it's exhilarating! And over so quickly." That had been surprising, too, how it seemed as though the performance was over nearly as soon as it had begun.

Guttle clapped his flippers and lolled out his tongue in excited greeting to both of Scar's pokemon.

"Wish I'd thought a' that." Honestly, he could have used the yo-yo that was stuck to her earlier and not even have to buy one. He huffs and runs his fingers through his hair. He has to be back in the bigtop soon.

"I just lost 'er. Followed the trail of sticky candy this way but it ended suddenly."
