Rise hit the nail on the head, there-- bouncing back from something like... that was not easy. The people who were able to just snap back to themselves like a rubber band were incredibly lucky.

Heather knew she wasn't okay just yet.

Heck, she wasn't even entirely sure what she was.

... Apart from safe.

She knew she was safe.

And for the moment, that was enough.

She adjusted her position a little bit so that she could remain in the hug without either falling over or tipping Cujo out of her lap. It was pretty much a big cuddly furry hug pile.
