The panic was running too deep and the danger too real for Kaito to really have the chance to be offended by Heather's words (and honestly, they were probably deserved too; Kaito had the tendency to get a little overprotective when his friends were involved). His grip on her wrist loosened enough that she would be able to pull away from him if she so choose.
