With a few blinks, Kaito shifted his gaze toward Heather, expression slack in surprise at her sincere honesty. Her words sink in after a few moments, and he returns her smile with a genuine one of his own (something completely different than his normal teasing and mischievous grin).

Kaito was far too used to doing things alone... and part of him was still getting used to relying on others in situations where he usually relied on himself.

"... yeah," he said with a nod, "At least we're not alone."
