Log:

[ With the yellow notebook cradled securely against her suit jacket and gloved hands stuffed comfortably in her pants' pockets, Valeria strikes out from the inn with a quiet spring in quick, purposeful steps and something akin to a thoughtful expression her face. It's been a year and some change since the last time she saw Cissnei, after all, and she's more than aware that a lot has happened since then. For them, for Shin-Ra. That she's not so much the rookie that she was the last time they saw each other is something she's looking forward to proving to her superior, but there are other matters to address, too. Timelines, information regarding the current situation -- she's determined to think ahead in a professional capacity, to do anything but let her emotions get the better of her when at last they meet again.

And then there's the part of her that, contrary to her calm demeanor, is nothing short of giddy with excitement at the thought of being reunited with a comrade and friend after so much time has passed not only on Gaia, but in Johto as well. That the absence of her fellow Turks, to whom she has grown so accustomed, had left her feeling lonelier than usual during her time in Johto is not something she can claim to have missed, after all. That loneliness has seemed somehow worse since her departure from Goldenrod, too, and she can hazard a guess as to why. If she hadn't been with Lea and Isa all this time... she exhales softly at the thought, the corners of her lips quirking up in something of a quiet smile. She'll figure out a way to make it up to them when she gets back to Goldenrod, but for now, she needs to stay on target and try to keep calm.

As she comes upon the bridge, she slows her pace to cross the thick, wooden planks with care and turns her eyes from the stretch before her to the sky above. They're darker than yesterday, but not quite heavy enough to break out the rain, snow, and sleet at any moment, if she's right. With a dismissive shake of her head, she comes to a halt and turns to look across the ice at the horizon and wait. ]
