It's a day full of fun, friends, and festivities! The NO FOOLIN' Benefit Concert has been set, the microphones tested and on stage, the sound running smoothly, weather cooperative. Food stations are everywhere, ready to feed and rehydrate everyone who's in the area, and the musicians have been given free reign to everywhere.

Throughout the day, live footage will be broadcasted on TV Channel 14, and video and CD recordings will be available for purchase at the end.

So swing your Gear at a donation station and enjoy the concert!

[It isn't hard for Jake to find Dirk, but that's mostly because he brought Tate along to help him. Robin is the first to reach him, though, landing on Dirk's shoulder (or attempting to) so that she can nuzzle his cheek.

Stage fright. Probably one of the few things that doesn't take long for Jake to puzzle out the why's about. He can understand where Dirk is coming from, at least, and why he froze up like that.

When he gets to Dirk, he smiles a little at him.]

Hey, Dirk. You did a really good job up there! I don't think I could've done that.

[With Robin around, there's no question that Jake will soon be following. It's a good warning to have, so he takes a few moments to steel himself, and to give the Emolga some petting, as if that was what Robin was really looking for here.

It's... well, it's kind of nice to have Jake come look for him. Nice enough that he doesn't bother with much bravado.]

I screwed up hilariously. But thanks anyway.

[That is definitely what she's been looking for and makes happy squirrel noises in response.]

Pish posh, you had the guts to keep going after that. I probably would've fainted on stage!

[Jake sits down next to him and tentatively puts an arm across Dirk's shoulders, trying to give some sort of comfort.]

[Dirk takes a moment to continue scritching Robin, even as he ever so slightly leans into the arm around his shoulders. He's been wanting to initiate something like this, but sometimes Jake seems really clueless, and he hasn't wanted to rush the whole thing, after the problems with choosing, and Jane's feelings weighing heavily on his mind.

It only took humiliating himself on stage to get boyfriend snuggles. It's almost worth it.]

Just kept going because it would have been even more shitty if I hadn't.

[Seems? More like is. Robin, at least, can take a hint and goes off somewhere. Jake's not concerned about her getting lost or anything. It's like she has some sort of radar for her trainer.]

Aw, don't be so hard on yourself. It was your first time up on stage and you did really well! And next time you're up there, you'll be even better because you've got some experience with it. When you hit your stride, I know you'll simply dominate the stage!

[With Robin gone, Dirk's just going to lean against him completely. Best boyfriend. He even laughs weakly]

That just makes it sound like I'll be some kind of diva.

[He can't help chuckling.]

I hate to break it to you, chap, but you kind of are. I like that about you, though. It's cute!

[Uuuugh, don't call him cute, Jake, you're going to make him blush.]

Are not what? Cute? I'm afraid you are that. Or I could use adorable instead.

A Diva. But no, while we're on the topic, I'm not adorable unless you are.

Not that he thinks he's particularly cute, but he knows he'll get nowhere by insisting.]

[He grins.]

Oh, really? Then I'll gladly take being called adorable if it means you'll acknowledge that you are.

[The grin then turns into a small smile.]

Do you feel a bit better, now?

I repeat what I said before: am not.

[He pushes up his shades to rub at his eyes, then he nods into Jake's shoulder.]

And I'll hold to the fact that you are.

[He can't help it. He just kisses the top of Dirk's head. It feels like the right time for that!

Jake also wants to say something, but he holds himself back. He's...not ready to say that. Not yet.]

No problem. And I still think you're brave, no matter what you do.

[It's a good thing Dirk's not looking at Jake's face, because his ears are totally going red because of that.]

... I'll do better if it happens again.

[It's the Dirk equivalent of accepting it and moving on.]

[Will give smooches for acceptance? Jake can do that.]

So, now that that's settled, how long do you plan on staying here?

[He frowns slightly.]

Oh, bother, hang on a tick.

[Yup, Jake is just gonna. Casually. Move Dirk so that he's using Jake as a chair and both arms are around the blond. jake plz]

Sorry, I was starting to lose feeling in my arm.

[And Dirk can definitely live with that.

Dirk squirms a little (hey, he's still ticklish and Jake is touching is sides) but doesn't really resist, even when Jake settles him in his lap. He can't really turn his head too far without threatening to stab Jake in the face with his shades, so he just leans back against him.]

Well now I'm not gonna want to move at all.

[He just holds Dirk tighter and laughs a bit.]

We can compromise! When I start losing feeling in my posterior is when we leave. Good enough?

I suppose I can accept the terms of this truce.

[He rests his arms on top of Jake's, squeezing lightly and just being happy about being able to sit here being hugged by Jake without there being some silly platonic explanation to it.]

Hey, when it gets warmer at night outside, would you like to stargaze with me?

[He hasn't done that with Dirk yet and he's memorized where all the Johto/Kanto constellations are by now.]

Holy shit, how are you such a romantic.

[He's still smiling, even if Jake can't see it.]

Sure, hotshot. I'd love to.

A magician never shares his secrets, my dear!

[Pretty sure he fucked that saying up, but he doesn't care.]

I'll have to see if I can rig up a telescope, too.

Then it's fortunate for everyone present that it's not magic.

[No one even cares how sayings actually go.]

A telescope? Getting pretty intense here, English.

But it'd be so cool to see the constellations closer up! Maybe a few planets, if we're lucky enough!

[He's really warming up to this idea.]

This place has different stars from Earth, yeah? Bet they have their own. I bet we'll make up a few before we actually find any.

[He's not too enthusiastic about constellations themselves, but hey, it's a date.]

That could be fun! But I've also memorized the constellations' relative locations for Johto, so now we won't get lost outdoors!

[Pause.]

Well, caves we could still get lost in, I think....
