Laguna Loire | Final Fantasy VIII

[Here, have a president - with a lot of Eeveelutions around him. Including a Shiny Vaporeon being carried on his back. (If said Vaporeon was asked if it needed this, he'd deny it. But, y'know, screw him.) After a few steps, Laguna lets out a laugh. Man, oh man. He looks to the Eeveelutions on his left, and gives a hand out to his Sylveon.]
Man - of the places I thought I'd see again, this was the last! Wonder how long it's been for everybody, huh?
[He's probably not gonna be wandering, though. I mean, he's got the original Cosmos-Eevee, they're old and tired. Not like him, of course! But teleporting is always an option. I mean, he's got this Espeon here.]

[He's trying not to look at Ragnarok, though. He feels bad for the little snake.]

[Up goes the eyebrow. He's right, of course--there's never a choice for them about when they leave this world--but that didn't and doesn't stop the ache. Not for her and not for Ragnarok, who...is still not looking. You left me? Fine. I'll ignore you. That's the message he's trying to send now.

As for Lightning...well, she just sighs after a long moment. Really there's no point holding that grudge.]

[Truth be told, Shaun barely remembered the older man. But there was something familiar in that smile, anyway, when he sees the man in town.

And Shaun's grown up a lot in the time that Laguna's been gone. 15 years makes a big difference when it's the difference between 11 and 26. Shaun's now 6'1" and broad-shouldered, with a beard that makes him look less like a child than it would if he were bare-faced.

He's still got Susie the Floatzel by his side, even though the old girl's getting on in years herself.]

[Well. Laguna wasn't expecting to get talked to by people who he knew - and the truth is? Even if he remembered Shaun, it was a little hard for him to recall the kid. Especially with how much he's grown! Laguna does give a wave, though - somebody else with an elder Pokemon?]

[All Shaun knows is that there's something a little familiar about this man. And this older Shaun is a lot more confident and less easily-spooked than he was as a freshly traumatized child.

And, well, Laguna's old enough to be Shaun's dad, and Shaun likes to respect his elders. He comes closer at the wave and the greeting.]

I'm Shaun. I'd shake your hand, but it looks like yours are a bit occupied.
