KEY:

• BLUE areas are where the bulk of the party's events will be located! As you can see, the festivities will be taking place largely outdoors, and the grounds will reflect that; there'll be the usual decorations of pretty floral arrangements, little lights, things like that. Think upscale garden party! There'll also be a ballroom indoors for more traditionally fancy red-carpet goings-on, but most of the action (and volume of guests) will be found mingling out back.
• GREEN areas are where guests will be staying overnight! Unfortunately, you'll be sleeping-bagging it up, since there's a limited amount of bedrooms in this house and they're all being occupied by Clair, Lance, the Elite Four, and guests who are regrettably way more important than you. However, this is where you'll be given space to leave your possessions, claim some sleeping room, and generally crash for the night once the festivities do you in. (Note: you're welcome to try to sleep elsewhere, but Clair might catch you and disapprove. You don't want that, do you?)
• RED areas are unfortunately off-limits to guests! If asked about them, anyone will tell you that those are the rooms and areas that the Elite Four (and their special guests) have claimed for themselves, and they're sealed off tight. Please don't try to break into them anyway; you'll only be caught and punished.

• AREA A is the designated Indoor Ballroom area, for the people who prefer the classy elegance of a formal red-carpet gala over the more whimsy outdoor garden party atmosphere in the back. There's a big skylight, hardwood floors, tasteful artwork, and classy music — a little more upscale than the shenanigans going on outside, for the people who'd rather that kind of thing.

• AREA B will be the area of interest for anyone hoping to sneak a little Pokemon research on the side: this is the Library/Gallery area of the house. While most of it is your standard "tall shelves of ancient identical books" fare, there are a few points of interest — we've detailed them further right here. Guests are welcome to look around a little, but burying themselves in research the whole time will be highly frowned upon, and you'll be politely encouraged to leave the library alone and go rejoin the festivities if you hole up in there for too long.

• AREA C is...well, the Parking Lot. More importantly, it's where you take your Pokemon battles if you simply gotta get your battle on; keep it out and away from the house, please, and try not to make too much of a mess. Skirmishes, sorties, and sparring will be tolerated here and here alone. Do it anywhere else and you'll be facing some very displeased hosts.

• AREA D is the Elite Four's Trophy Room. Please be quiet and respectful if you come up here to have a look around; it's a solemn kind of place. Here you'll find various collections of badges, ribbons, awards, and trophies put on display, with one wall devoted to each member of the Elite Four. There are also pictures of the Elite Four members themselves, though it seems there's been a changeover since the last prom; the candids and Official Portraits™ depict different people entirely now (with the exception of Bruno) and there are a few photos of some sort of ceremony among the others. These photos include Lance being declared Champion of both regions by Professor Oak, while the rest of the Elite Four look on; Lorelai hugging Will and Karen immediately after their promotion to Elite Four; Agatha and Koga having an exhibition battle between her Gengar and his Crobat; all six of them piling into the frame for what amounts to a massive group selfie, etc.

[So you know who's having a great day? Cynthia's having a great day! Nothing against all the pomp and circumstance of Clair's big gala last night, because that was decidedly fun, but all the same it was really nice to get a refreshing night's sleep, throw on something casual instead of a fancy gown, and head out with her unhatched Pokemon egg in tow to explore the place more fully.

Like last night, she'll absolutely be hitting up the library again (because you just can't keep her out of that library for long, fuckdamn), but you also might catch her:

1) By the waterfalls looking at Bloobers
2) Reading by the pool
3) Just wandering around getting some fresh air with her Garchomp in tow!

She seems to enjoy stopping to talk to other trainers, particularly if they've got Pokemon of their own out; it's always such fun to see the strong bond between trainers and their Pokemon, and so many people here seem to be taking such good care of theirs!

And that's wonderful.]

[Chihiro hadn't really been planning on leaving the sleeping area at all, but the library is really too tempting for him to pass up. Besides, it's rather comforting to be surrounded by such a wealth of information....and if he's lucky, there won't be too many people around that might recognize him from the night before.

Unfortunately he doesn't have anything much yet by way of casual wear, so he's back wearing his normal girl's uniform instead of the dress he had been wearing. Following behind him as he browses through the shelves is his Porygon, Zip, who lets out a few quiet beeps every now and then. He doesn't load himself down with books this time, instead picking another one featuring fighting types to bring back to one of the chairs so he can look through it.

The library does seem relatively empty, so maybe he can sneak through without being noticed...]

[Sneaking through without being noticed is all well and good, but alas, it does tend to backfire when you end up with someone "noticing" you because they've just accidentally walked right into you OH GOD LITTLE GIRL WHERE DID YOU COME FROM

Fortunately, Cynthia manages to not drop the stack of books she's carrying (and that were occupying her attention, hence why she wasn't watching where she was going), but she's quick to find a place to abandon them once she realizes what's happened.]

Oh! I'm awfully sorry about that, are you all right? I didn't see you there, I'm sorry for bumping into you!

[Chihiro can't much help the small shriek of surprise that escapes him when Cynthia walks into him, but he does manage to keep his balance after staggering back a step. Zip lets out a very alarmed trill, because we do not need a repeat of what happened with Kuzuryuu last time he was in the library. Still, there's a difference between carrying one book and eight.

Still, even though it was an accident all around, the apologies come flowing forth from him before he can stop them.]

I-...I'm so sorry....um....n-no, it's ok...I'm fine...

[He lifts the book a bit in his arms. Come on Chihiro, she's not going to bite you.]

A-..are you ok? ..I...I really wasn't looking where I was going..

[With her hands free, she's quick to do that obligatory sort of friendly looking-over that people tend to do when they've accidentally bumped someone: hands slightly raised, like she's ready to steady the little girl if she wobbles, or catch her if god forbid she falls over.]

I'm fine, really, it was my fault.

[You know, something about this girl looks oddly familiar, but she can't place it. Maybe because she's not bawling her eyes out and getting people chucked into pools, hmm. Well, anyway.]

[We've definitely moved a step up from the travesty that was the pool fiasco, but he'd be lying if he said it didn't really sour the experience, if not nearly destroy it entirely.

Chihiro dips his head slightly with his grip on his book still very much like a vice.]

F-Fujisaki. Chihiro Fujisaki. It's nice to...to meet you, Cynthia-san.

[Let's be real, that was a little "Bond. James Bond." there, so she's actually not sure.]

I hope I'll have the time to read them all! I guess that's kind of a silly way of spending a vacation, isn't it? But I'm really excited to see what sort of legends exist in Johto and Kanto!

[She nods over at her Lucario, who is a short distance away manning her designated table in the library.]

I'm incubating an egg of my own right now, actually. It's a lot of fun! I'm sure you'll enjoy it, too, once you decide.

[Don't look now, because a Blaziken is staring at that Garchomp pretty intently. Her trainer is conked out in the grass next to where she's sitting, hands under his head, a Houndoom sprawled cross-ways over his chest. Looks like someone stayed up too late last night.

Anyways, this Blaziken sure is staring. Intently, for a while. And eventually, she stands up and marches after Cynthia and her Garchomp.]

[Well, all right, then! Garchomp notices the interloper coming quite quickly, of course, and Cynthia isn't far behind; more curious than anything else, she gradually brings her trek to a pause and turns to regard the Pokemon that's been tailing her, bringing one hand up to rest fondly on Garchomp's neck as she does so.]

Well, hello there! You're a curious one, aren't you?

[The Blaziken doesn't respond right away, walking up to conversation distance and glaring at the two - but that might just be her face, because she doesn't seem to be acting angry. "Curious" may have been right on the mark.

She shuffles her feet a little, then puts her fists up in a fighting pose for a moment, almost like she's issuing a challenge; then she drops them with a small, awkward sound, not looking away from Garchomp.

"I don't want to be a nuisance, but are you battling today," is the gist of it.]

[It's sort of cute, really, and Cynthia can't help but laugh — in a friendly way, of course, as opposed to a mocking one. What spirit and personality from a Pokemon!]

You're looking for a battle, are you? Do you have a trainer around, or are you planning to fight solo, little friend?

Her mask of intensity doesn't waver as she pauses, then looks back over her shoulder, straight at the sleeping boy and Houndoom. A quick glance back to Cynthia to confirm - we're really doing this? Should I go get him now?]

[Aha, so that's who it is. It'd be a shame to wake him up, wouldn't it?

But on the other hand, it does seem unfair to battle someone's Pokemon without asking them first, or giving them any say whatsoever in the matter, so —]

I'll ask, don't worry.

[And over she goes, bending down to give Walter a slight nudge in the hopes of waking him up.]

Excuse me! Sorry to bother you, but you're the trainer of this Blaziken, aren't you?

Hnmuhgbnuh. [Wh- Orthrus, what do you wa-

-why is there a pretty woman standing above him]

Uh. [Wait, wait, gears are spinning, blinking the sleep out of our eyes, okay - what about a Blaziken?] ...Kaga?

[He sits up and squints at his Blaziken standing some distance away. She glares back (while internally screaming at how embarrassing he's being no no no make a good impression please)

Walter looks back up at Cynthia. He's...awake now, he thinks.]

...Er. Hi?

Hi!

[That sure is a really pretty lady in a stylish V-neck shirt and pants combo peering down at you, Walter. She's doing her best not to startle him, too, though the fact that Garchomp is looming nearby still might pose some...issues with that.]

This is your Blaziken, right? I think she wants to battle, but I didn't want to accept a challenge without her trainer's approval!

[SURE IS - wait that's a dragon - wait something about battling?]

O-oh! I - uh, certainly! Hoy, Kaga, to me!

[She has just enough restraint to keep from rolling her eyes, but she does comply while Walter scrambles to his feet.]

It's to be between just the two of them, I gather?

That's right! Unless you want to field more than just your Blaziken; I have a feeling Garchomp will be all that I need!

[And the approving growl that Garchomp lets out at that seems to confirm her statement.]

[Speaking of Cynthias, the one that isn't some kind of Pokemon superstar is also out and about! Since there are less people around, especially on the grounds of the estate, her Blitzle has finally determined that it was safe to come out of the ball, and is actually exploring on her own a bit

time to run and hide behind trainer

Cynthia number two notices because it's happened enough that it manages to power through her usual powers of obvliviousness.]

What's got you all worked up, Thunderhoof? Is it ---

[IT SURE IS A LANDSHARK. And it is a landshark that has noticed someone is hiding from it, because that is a thing that predatory creatures like landsharks tend to do. Smelling fear, blood in the air-water, you know how it goes.

So Garchomp turns in curiosity, and a second or two later, Cynthia follows, smiling in friendly amusement at the sight of the Blitzle hiding behind her trainer — it's pretty cute, really, isn't it?]

Hi, there! I'm sorry if I scared your Pokemon. Don't worry, Garchomp is friendly. Or at least when we're not in a Pokemon battle!

[...yeah Thunderhoof is just going to cower more, thanks]

Oh, don't worry about it! She gets nervous around Ground-types even outside of battles, which I kind of understand. Still, I'd like to help her be a little more confident, you know?

I understand. Some Pokemon are just like that, aren't they? It's good of you to want to help her get over her fear, though!
