Summary: Riku called a meeting for all PGC members to discuss recent happenings, touch base with one another, and contemplate future measures.

[It's tough to resist the urge to explore. To mingle and dance and just soak up the scenery, but Riku knows that if they don't do this now, they might not have another chance for a while. Meetups are tricky with everyone spread across two regions. They'd already missed their first planned meeting date, so prom will just have to suffice.

He'd already left his message and gone through the instructions: sneak out during the dance while nobody's looking. Leave in small groups-- pairs optimal. They are to keep their voices low and avoid suspicion if at all possible.

Riku will be hovering fairly close to the entrance, keeping eyes peeled for known PGC members. He'd rather not have to hunt everyone down, as that would arouse suspicions.

Once enough people arrive, he'll open the floor to discussions. Just remember to keep quiet!]

Not at the moment. My Poison-types are in the PC right now. [Alas, he can only bring over six Pokemon with him.] What kind of tests?

You know, just tests. [ She could explain in Gratuitous Nerd Talk, but only if she's sure he wants to hear it. ]

It depends on the tests, but I generally wouldn't mind helping out if it's harmless.

[His Gratuitous Nerd Knowledge is usually more on the technology side of things, but Atsuro will always make an exception for Pokemon.]

Can you spare any details about it?

Testing the various types of poison that each Pokemon can create to see if they are identical and if so, how is it produced? In the same way as each other or through different methods.

Oooh, that sounds kind of interesting! [It's a little out of his field, but his science isn't that terrible. Not as terrible as his English or (Japanese) history.] If it's just that, I'll ask my Nidoqueen if she wants to volunteer.

[After giving Riku his account of the Olivine shindig, Walter is chilling by a wall with his Houndoom, just watching everything going on until he's approached. He's about to force a grin and raise a hand in greeting before the question takes him by surprise.]

Er, I - yeah, I do. What for? [He takes two Pokeballs from his belt and lets out the Wurmple twins anyways. The caterpillars settle down to stare questioningly at Sakura, one on each of his shoulders.]

[ You have bugs on your shoulders, man. ]

Two of the same Pokemon? [ Rare. ] Might I ask why?

[ Because that's way more important than her original line of questioning. Not many trainers did this unless they intended to breed them, but why breed bugs? ]

They're doublets. I don't train them much, their mother usually looks after them.

[The Wurmples arch upwards and give each other a fistbump (legbump?) over Walter's head, with a little happy "Waa!"]

I don't think they're Poison-type, but they spit poison darts and silk.

[ Cute... ] Strange, but not uncommon. A number of Pokemon can learn Poison-type moves even if they aren't capable of producing the toxin.

I wonder how that works out in all honesty.

The same way it does with most, I...suppose? Plenty of them have all manner of powers, after - oof.

[One of the caterpillars knocks him in the nose in her hurry to show Sakura her spiffy new...bow tie. LOOK WHAT WE CAN DO WITH SILK LOOK LOOK c: ]

Would a half-poison and half-grass type work? I have my Roselia with me.

[ Smiling bright. ] If you don't mind me seeing your Roselia.

[He actually doesn't even need to call him out of his ball as he's been a companion during the ball. Now he's hurrying over because he heard Ren whistle.]

[ Grass Pokemon usually are. Pretty and happy, Sakura's discovered after some time spent here. ]

Has he been wandering around like this?

[The Roselia makes a small bow at the compliment.]

Yeah. I've been letting him wander around with me for several reasons.

[In fact, Riku whistles, grabbing the attention of a Nidoking who's currently sitting on a sleeping bag. His ears perk up once Riku calls for him, and he stumbles over with a grunt.]

He's part poison, part ground. That work for you?

[ A Nidoking, huh? Sakura's picked up her own Nidoran duo recently and is impressed with what she sees. ]

Yeah, of course he does.

I'm looking to study how each Pokemon produces the poison for their moves and if it's identical to other Pokemon who can do the same thing.

[Nidokings are fairly neat looking... despite being tiny as hell, at only 4'6''. Not exactly kaiju material.

Doesn't help that Slacker's about the least threatening Nidoking out there. When he sees Sakura, he blinks, tilts his head, and sniffs the air a little. Hello, pink-haired stranger.

Meanwhile, Riku snickers.]

You do know that every Pokémon can learn Toxic, right?

I know and isn't that strange? How can they do it?

[ It's really a question that bothers her a LOT. ] Pokemon that can't produce poison suddenly is capable of doing it? I don't get it. Logically, it shouldn't make sense.

But it does here.

See, that just makes me wonder how TMs even work. You break a disc over a Pokémon's head, and suddenly they can produce poison?

[He runs his fingers through his hair, sighing. Think too hard on it, and they'll get nowhere fast.]

No, I don't think I have. Mind if I ask what you're testing though?

The various types of poison each Poison-type Pokemon can create. Is it really the same? If it's different, how come it affects enemy Pokemon in combat the same as other poisons?

Plus if it's produced in a strange manner, does that affect the potency of the poison? Lots of things really!

I was wondering the same thing. There's also a difference between the moves themselves.

[ A pause to think. ]

There's potencies to think about, if one move or pokemon produces a stronger poison than another... [ Then he frowns slightly. ] I wonder how they can cure all that with one Antidote...

That's what I've been wondering myself.

Taking apart potions and antidotes to study them haven't done much good so I'm branching off into the Pokemon themselves. I think it'll be a more beneficial study depending on how they've been raised. For example do Pokemon who are leveled strong end up producing a more potent poison than the ones found out in the wild?
