Summary: After all the shenanigans of Hoennween, it's about time everybody had a chance to relax and unwind, courtesy of some actually benign NPCs. With all the luxuries of the Hotel Richissime waiting at their disposal, that shouldn't be too difficult a prospect!

A FEW OTHER SETTING NOTES:

• At the moment, this log spans the entirety of the New Year's Eve plot, so starters may be posted for any time on either day of the event. If things start getting massive and it looks like an overflow log will be necessary, we'll definitely see about putting one up, and will link it to this one if need be.

• The Event Itinerary can be found here! Remember that participating in this course of events is not mandatory, but it's what will be going on in the grand scheme of things over the course of the event.

• All event participants are being housed on the fourth and fifth floors of the hotel. Your bedrooms are laid out like this; if you participated in our IC Rooming Roulette, you can find your buddy on this table here!

• Most activities here will be free! ICly, your characters will use their room cards to "pay" for most things, and the charges will be applied to their room (which of course, they are not paying for personally). Gift shops, parts of the casino, and food not provided as part of the event are not chargeable to your rooms and characters will have to use their own money in those locations.

• Underage characters may use the casino; however, they may be subject to some social scrutiny and side-eyeing in the event that they attempt to get in on one of the high-roller tables.

A NOTE ABOUT USING THREADS ON THIS LOG FOR AC:

Because of how our AC period works (the grace week into January still counting toward December), all threads on this log are valid toward December's AC, regardless of timestamp! However, because the log technically spans two different months and we want to encourage tagging out on it, we have also made this decision:

On this log and this log alone, comment threads timestamped in January (OOCly) that reach AC-length may be used towards January's AC, as well. Therefore, if a thread on this log reaches AC length with 10+ comments timestamped in January, you can use it toward January's AC (assuming the same thread has not already been used to satisfy December's AC).

[Well, look who it is! Garry seems elated to see his friend, followed by his Charizard. Both seem pretty happy, although he slows down when he sees the shy little Swablu.]

Oh, so that must be what hatched for you... Have you named them, yet?

[The Swablu blinks when he sees Garry approach and almost immediately hides his face in fluffy wings with a muffled peep.]

Ah, hello! It isn't, actually...I was breeding a lot of eggs this month and was surprised by him. He doesn't have a name yet, though.

[Basically after breeding Naegi's shiny ditto four times over, he finally got lucky.]

As for the egg I found, I don't know what it is...

[Hold the phone does that mean it's supposed to be shiny? Now Chihiro's even more curious.]

It seems like everyone is getting a lot of eggs, recently, doesn't it? I suppose some shiny types were bound to come up eventually! I've been trying to read about them for some time now.

[Shinies are just fascinating... They remind him of albino animals and their opposites back home.]

It sees he's a bit shy, doesn't he?

They are rather interesting. From what I've learned myself, the only difference is their color...Swablu are usually blue, but he hatched yellow.

[Chihiro looks down at the ball of cotton in his arms, sighing.]

He is a bit nervous...he only hatched a few days ago, so he might be a little intimidated by the crowds of people here.

Well, you know I have my own Altaria... Do you think seeing a similar face might help reassure him?

It's possible.

[The small bird lifts his head slightly, but otherwise doesn't seem interested in coming all the way out.]

Would you mind?

Not at all.

[Smiling, he switches out his Pokemon and Kawa soon makes an appearance, cooing relaxedly and peering up at the fluffbundle in Chihiro's arms.]

[The Swablu goes still at the sound, and after a moment he carefully lifts his head just enough to peek over the top of Chihiro's arm.]

It's okay. These are my friends.

[He seems a little unsure...but seeing Kawa there does seem to help, prompting him to peek out a little further with a soft chirp.]

[artificialrose]

[Kawa just keeps on cooing, as chill and relaxed as always. Nothing can ruin this bird's vibe, absolutely nothing.]

[The little bird eventually gets curious enough to pull his head out completely, leaning out a little to try and get a closer look...]

[In return, Kawa just stretches his long neck upwards and chirps. Hey there, tiny friend.]

[Chihiro smiles when he sees the Swablu relax a little, chirping back with a little flutter of his wings.]

Ah...I think it's working.

[artificialrose]

I'm glad! [Fondly, he pats Kawa's head.] He's so relaxed... I think he could make a good impression on anyone.

Mhm. I think he'll get better- [Said in reference to the Swablu, who is watching Garry for the moment, shyly.] -he just isn't sure how to act in this strange place. But...I figured he would like to see this pretty Garden while we're here.

[artificialrose]

It does seem like there's a lot more open space here than in the rest of the hotel. [He gives a little wave to the Swablu, still smiling.] I can see why he'd find it relaxing.]

[codeforhope]

[The Swablu peeps softly, adjusting his wings at his sides. He doesn't seem scared now at least.]

There is. It's very nice out here...the flowers are pretty.

[Now that his Swablu isn't so nervous, he looks back up at Garry, letting him interact with Kawa for the time being.]

So how have you been?

[artificialrose]

[Very slowly, so that the Swablu isn't alarmed, Garry starts to hold out his hand in case he wants to investigate.]

Oh, we've been doing fine. It seems like everything has really picked up after that strange event back in October was taken care of.

[codeforhope]

[He moves back just slightly, but after a moment he stretches his head out a bit, nibbling gently at one of his fingers.]

I'm glad to hear it! I'm glad that things have calmed down a little, too...

Oh- Thank you for the scarf you sent me for Christmas, by the way. It's very nice and warm.

[He...almost feels like he has to apologize for the one that was sent to you, Garry. It was so bad.]

I'm glad it made it to you fine. It's been so chilly recently, I thought something practical might be for the best.

Thank you for your own gift, by the way! [He's not going to judge. Everyone has to start somewhere.] It must have taken some time.

[The sad thing is, he didn't even make it. His Leavanny is so proud of it, though.]

It took quite a while, yes. But I'm glad you like it. Clothing is always useful, I think.

That reminds me, however, when is your birthday, Chihiro? I don't I know.

[Or if Chihiro did, he's fully willing to admit that he completely forgot. Sometimes his memory isn't always the best.]

Oh- It's in March. From what I was told, it occurred right before I arrived here. The 14th.

[Being that Nanami's birthday had just happened, and all.]

August. [He smiles.] So you'd be either an Aries or a Pisces, right?

[Chihiro nods slightly.]

Mhm, I think so. ...Pisces, I think.

That's great! Virgo and Pisces get along really well together, you know.
