Why Don't You Go Where Fashion Sits?

Who: Participants of the Kalosmas New Year's Event!
Where: The Hotel Richissime, in scenic Lumiose City, Kalos!
When: Wednesday, December 31 - Thursday, January 1!
Summary: After all the shenanigans of Hoennween, it's about time everybody had a chance to relax and unwind, courtesy of some actually benign NPCs. With all the luxuries of the Hotel Richissime waiting at their disposal, that shouldn't be too difficult a prospect!
Rating: PG in general; please mark threads that go higher accordingly!

A FEW OTHER SETTING NOTES:

• At the moment, this log spans the entirety of the New Year's Eve plot, so starters may be posted for any time on either day of the event. If things start getting massive and it looks like an overflow log will be necessary, we'll definitely see about putting one up, and will link it to this one if need be.

• The Event Itinerary can be found here! Remember that participating in this course of events is not mandatory, but it's what will be going on in the grand scheme of things over the course of the event.

• All event participants are being housed on the fourth and fifth floors of the hotel. Your bedrooms are laid out like this; if you participated in our IC Rooming Roulette, you can find your buddy on this table here!

Most activities here will be free! ICly, your characters will use their room cards to "pay" for most things, and the charges will be applied to their room (which of course, they are not paying for personally). Gift shops, parts of the casino, and food not provided as part of the event are not chargeable to your rooms and characters will have to use their own money in those locations.

• Underage characters may use the casino; however, they may be subject to some social scrutiny and side-eyeing in the event that they attempt to get in on one of the high-roller tables.

A NOTE ABOUT USING THREADS ON THIS LOG FOR AC:

Because of how our AC period works (the grace week into January still counting toward December), all threads on this log are valid toward December's AC, regardless of timestamp! However, because the log technically spans two different months and we want to encourage tagging out on it, we have also made this decision:

On this log and this log alone, comment threads timestamped in January (OOCly) that reach AC-length may be used towards January's AC, as well. Therefore, if a thread on this log reaches AC length with 10+ comments timestamped in January, you can use it toward January's AC (assuming the same thread has not already been used to satisfy December's AC).

Hologram demonstration

[Unlike Ash, Atsuro's looking at the demonstration with awe and sheer interest right now. However, once he looks away, he notice Ash's generally...unhappy reaction and blinks.]

...What's wrong?

[Ash almost but not quite jumps when Atsuro addresses him, lost in his thoughts as he is.]

...Holograms tend to be associated with bad news, where I come from. Mostly because only one side of the war has them.

[And funnily enough, it's not his.]

Ooh, I guess that can make anyone feel a little sour about them.

[A little bit. He glances at the demonstration and back again.]

It's pretty obvious, but it usually depends on who's using them. I can see holograms being used for communications and showing models here.

I have to say I'd rather see them used to display models of future mobile suits than to declare attacks on cities. I wonder if this means they'll be used in Johto and Kanto soon?

[There has to be a reson why they were shown this, after all.]

I hope so! They have to be really confident in their technology to showcase it like this. Otherwise, why bother if they're not on track with the development?

[Coming from Atsuro, who saw and followed a fair amount of technology back home.]

If it's like back home, maybe it'll be ready within a year.
captainash: (confident)

[personal profile] captainash 2015-01-11 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
A year, you say? Does that mean we'll be allowed to complain if we don't get them after three hundred and sixty-six days?

[He might or might not be kidding about that.]
babel_hacker: (Headphones | Wink)

[personal profile] babel_hacker 2015-01-11 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
Sure, why not! I'm pretty sure people would speak up if there's no news at all later!

[Actually, was there any grumbling about late releases or lack of news before about a product?]

Especially after such a showy introduction. I'm sure everyone who wasn't invited is extremely jealous of us, right now.

Hey, who wouldn't be? Even if they're not into technology, it's still fun to see in the end. That, or the whole free food and fireworks.
captainash: (confident)

[personal profile] captainash 2015-01-17 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
That would easily suffice for most, especially when one considers the quality of the meal. I haven't eaten so well in years.
babel_hacker: (Drink | Chilling)

[personal profile] babel_hacker 2015-01-19 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
Same! Well, more like I don't often get to eat so much fancy meals as a typical middle class citizen.

Fancy meals like that usually aren't worth the trouble, really. But they're nice to have once in a while.
