[Hope you enjoyed the quiet, Peridot. Because it's about to be ruined very quickly.
In the remarkably short travel time around this land, should Peridot find herself on the shores of Olivine City, the once calm ocean waves will suddenly rise up and fall straight towards her.]
[Well, this was a beach. But it wasn't the beach she had landed on just a few hours prior with Jasper and that other Gem. She scowled at the water and turned back to her display.]
Hmm, maybe I crashed farther then I thou-AAAAUUUGH!!!
[Aaaaand there's the wave. Peridot gets about two seconds to notice it before she's hit in the face with a wall of water. It sends both her, and her Nosepass, flying back until the wave finally recedes, and she's face down in the sand.
She coughs and sputters, picking a stray piece of seaweed off her visor with two floating fingers.]
[Okay, so the voice may not be familiar, but the watery face suddenly rising up out of the ocean and BLOWING A HUGE RASPBERRY RIGHT IN FRONT OF PERIDOT should look at least vaguely familiar.
If not, oh well, Lapis is still enjoying this from her spot, submerged a few dozen feet out in the water.]
[Despite her joking just now, Lapis... is a bit nervous. She was terrified of Peridot when she first ran into her on Homeworld, and she was terrified of what she had the potential to do.
But she's not going to let anyone control her anymore. So She's going to fight back that fear.]
Doesn't feel too good when you're the one being harassed, does it?
[Luckily for Peridot, Lapis lets her stand. It's not like she as anything to worry about, surrounded by her element as she is.]
Oh, please. This isn't about being heroic. [The watery clone of Lapis's head zooms in close, large enough to tower over Peridot.] This is me showing I'm not afraid of you anymore!
[The waves surrounding the water clone rise up, making a fist and smashing at the ground. Not on Peridot, but close enough that she could feel the water splash.]
Lapis had been purposefully missing up until this point. But that just... causes something inside her to break. The water clone of her head disappears, leaving nothing but a wave to come crashing full-force right down on Peridot.
And when the water retreats, Lapis herself is standing there in the surf, hands clenched tight into fists.]
You're telling me I should've just stayed away from my home after being trapped in a mirror for centuries? Can you even imagine what that was like?!
[There's no time to block it. Peridot simply stood there and took the full blunt of the wave, knocking her off her feet and leaving her sprawled in the sand. She was not used to this sort of treatment, at all. A veteran like Jasper may have handled it better, sure. What could a Gem like her do?
In pain and irritated, Peridot slowly rose to her feet, staggering a bit as she notices Lapis for the first time.]
No... I can't imagine it. I wasn't the Gem that put you in there more then a few centuries ago. [She gives a small gesture.] I can't say what Homeworld was like, so long ago, but now it's different.
[Heartless. So heartless. What is wrong with the gems on Homeworld right now? Sure, the gems from back before her imprisonment were harsh, but they were still capable of emotions that weren't negative. This, though...]
Are you sure you're even a gem? You act more like one of your stupid machines than a real person.

Nope. She can't recall.]

[She picks herself off the ground, dripping wet and more then a little irritated.]
Yeah. You must feel really heroic right about now.

So this is being brave? Hiding? I can't even fight back!
[Or at all, really. She was a desk jockey, not a warrior.]

Don't you understand what following orders means?! If you just complied, we wouldn't be having his conversation!

I didn't come back just to be ordered around!

...Then you shouldn't have come back at all!

[For the better, in her opinion. More orderly.]
