Arrival, open
Amit, his Zangoose, was at his side when he knocked. He had no idea who was home, but he would have to face everyone eventually.

Still wearing her apron, her hair pinned up on top of her head, Lust wiped her hands and went to open the door, bringing Guttle with her so he wouldn't get into her batter.
"Scar!" It was a pleasantly surprised exclamation, but he was the last person she'd expect to show up on this particular doorstep. "I didn't think you'd be coming by the house.."
no subject
"May I come in?"
There was that wash of relief at seeing her again, but he was distracted.

If they were, they were behind closed doors and doing their own thing. She moved out of the way, stepping around Guttle who was spinning up a storm at Scar being here.
"I'm in the middle of baking, make yourself comfortable in the kitchen."

"That fool who calls himself our president and his enormous henchman know what happened with Wrath. They are trying to find out where you live." He shot Lust a look.
Hello to you, too, apparently.
no subject
"Oh, Ralph and Blake." She waved her hand as she picked her spoon back up to finish her batter. "Ralph's being clever, he knows perfectly well where we live. And he knows what happened because I told him, Ralph and I are good friends. And he cares about Wrath a great deal."
He'd rushed and showed up right at the door for that? Lust almost felt badly, there hadn't been any need.

"Blake isn't stable. He is an idiot, but he actually thinks that he holds authority." How could she not be disturbed? Scar had been far more paranoid than usual, since Roy appeared.
"He is dangerous, and he's paying Ralph for something. And Ralph caring for Wrath gives him all the more reason."
no subject
She poured the batter into the pan and nodded behind Scar.
"Open the oven for me, would you? Anyhow, Ralph does intend to put the fear of god into Envy, and I'm not going to stop him, but no one's going to be showing up at the house with torches or pitchforks."
no subject
"Do not compare me to him." No, he didn't understand. Blake was, as people here would say, 'an asshole.' Scar finally opened the oven for her.

She brushed against him as she moved to put the cake in the oven and set the timer.
"And you really don't need to be concerned about Ralph. I see him nearly every day. I was with him yesterday. I've been giving him regular updates on Wrath's progress."
no subject
Scar protected his own, and he didn't give a damn about Blake's reasons.
"Dangerous is dangerous, no matter what."
no subject
She turned to him and reached for his hands, to take them in hers.
"Ralph is a dear friend, and men like Blake...I could chew him up and pick my teeth with his bones before he knew what happened."
no subject
"I'm staying here for a while." He doubted she would stop him, and that was the end conclusion anyway. They just weren't going to agree.
no subject
Just to clarify. Lust wasn't going to protest to either, but the statement had been ambiguous. He wanted to be sure she was safe, it was sweet. In a stubborn, bullheaded sort of way. He had his manner of showing her he cared.

She thought it over. She knew he wouldn't like to just camp out in one of the shared public rooms.
"Well, you can always take my room and I can stay with Envy. You'd have privacy."
no subject
"I can stay on your floor."
Scar would feel better being in the same room as her, anyway.
no subject
"I'll set it up when my cake's done. Are you hungry?"
no subject
"A little," he admitted.
no subject
"There's leftover casserole from last night, if you want a plate. I made it, but it's edible. It's mostly cheese."
no subject
He was glad that he hadn't encountered anyone else, yet. He didn't particularly want to.
